A report by the Daily Mail on Monday said the videos from December 1 showed white lights zipping across the sky over the rolling farmland near West Bend and Fredonia.&nbsp;The lights, which were moving at an incredible speed and appeared to have come from above the thin cloud layer on the night of December 1, left witnesses believing that they saw a UFO. The Daily Mail obtained the videos from two Wisconsin residents — Kimberly and Ken.&nbsp;

Kimberly, who is a salon owner from West Bend, shared videos of the possible UFO sighting after she saw bright lights flashing over the sky while she was driving on a rural road in West Bend at around 10.45 pm on December 1.&nbsp;

Videos shared by these two Wisconsin residents captured a moment where four of the lights appear in a row and a fifth light, flying from the left, joins the formation, the Daily Mail report on Monday said.&nbsp;

Another resident of the US state- Andrea Lynn, also saw these strange lights in the sky on December 1. Taking to Facebook, Lynn shared four videos of the sighting outside her house about 80 miles north in Howard.

These lights were seen in Wisconsin on December 2 as well. About 35 miles away in Greenfield, Chris Novak was travelling with his family in a car to the Candy Cane Lane lights in West Allis. Novak's wife alerted him about odd lights in the sky as the car was heading north on Interstate 43 over the Fox River overpass at about 6.55 pm on December 2, the report added. &nbsp;

This news of a possible UFO sighting in the US comes as the Pentagon received several hundreds of new UFO reports but there was no evidence of alien life so far. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), a new Pentagon office, was set up in July this year to track unidentified objects in the sky, underwater or in space.

The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) is responsible for tracking unidentified objects in the sky, underwater or in space. It is also responsible for tracking any object that can move from one domain to the next, a report by the Associated Press said.&nbsp;

The AARO was established following over a year of unidentified flying objects that military pilots have observed. In June last year, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence reported that between 2004 and 2021, there were 144 such encounters. Eighty of these encounters were captured on multiple sensors.&nbsp;

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Dr Sean Kirkpatrick, AARO's director, said that the Pentagon received several hundreds of UFO reports.&nbsp;Kirkpatrick did not rule out the possibility of extraterrestrial life and said he was taking a scientific approach to the research.&nbsp;

"I would just say that we are structuring our analysis to be very thorough and rigorous. We will go through it all," he told reporters.&nbsp;

Kirkpatrick pointed out that one reason for these hundreds of reports coming in might be the outreach the office did to destigmatise reporting potential encounters.&nbsp;

The AARO director also said there is a lot of new technology such as drones, hypersonic missiles stealth bombers and stealth fighters- fielded by both the United States and China- that could be mistaken for UFOs.&nbsp;

The office has been coordinating with the Pentagon and the US intelligence community to get the signatures of US technology to rule out those aircraft or drones, he added, the Associated Press report further said.&nbsp;

In May this year, the US Congress held a briefing on UFOs, its first hearing on the topic in more than 50 years. Multiple members had expressed concerns that whether or not the objects are alien or potentially new, unknown technology being flown by China, Russia or another potential adversary, the unknown posed a security risk to the US.&nbsp;

“(So far) we have not seen anything, and we’re still very early on, that would lead us to believe that any of the objects that we have seen are of alien origin,” the US under secretary of defence for intelligence and security Ronald Moultrie said on Friday, adding any unauthorised system in the country's airspace is deemed as a threat to safety.

Moultrie said the office (AARO) was also working on ways to improve the ability to identify unknown objects.&nbsp;

NASA's move to look into these 'Unidentified aerial phenomena', as they are being called now, marks shift in the attitude of American government in how it deals with claims of extraterrestrial sightings.

A first-of-its-kind panel of experts has opened a study on Monday (October 24). The panel brings together experts from various fields ranging from physics to astrobiology.

The 16-member panel, convened with little fanfare, will focus its inquiry entirely on unclassified sightings and other data collected from civilian government and commercial sectors, according to NASA.

The team's inquiry is separate from a newly formalized Pentagon-based investigation of unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs, reported by military aviators and analyzed by US&nbsp;defense and intelligence officials.

The term UFO is associated with extraterrestrial life, flying saucers and so on. The term is being replaced by 'UAP' in US government parlance.

Announcing the formation of its panel in June, NASA said: "There is no evidence UAPs are extraterrestrial in origin."

A Pentagon report issued a year earlier likewise found insufficient data to determine the nature of more than 140 credible sightings documented by military observers since 2004, mostly Navy personnel.

Senior defense and intelligence officials testified before Congress five months ago that the list of cataloged UAP sightings had since grown to 400 but many remain beyond explanation, either as advanced earthly technologies, atmospherics or something alien.

Mars is a far-away dream. That is not to say that humans haven't reached the planet: we have, albeit, by proxy, as our rovers have been on the red soil. However, no man has ever stepped foot on Mars's surface. Yet, as per a new estimate, our race has already littered the red planet with more than 15,000 pounds or 7,000 kilogrammes&nbsp;of trash.

There is 15,694 pounds (approximately 7118.6 kilogrammes) of human debris on the red planet, estimates Cagri Kilic, a postdoctoral research fellow in robotics at West Virginia University. He&nbsp;analysed the mass of all Mars rovers and orbiters before deducting the weight of those that are still in use to arrive at this estimate.

As per Daily Mail, the debris includes abandoned tools, dormant rockets, and spacecraft that have crashed onto the planet, including the Soviet Union's Mars orbiter 2 which made a crash landing in 1971.

Scientists fear that not only is our race polluting yet another planet, even as we struggle to save ours, but that this trash could contaminate the samples being collected by NASA’s Perseverance rover and endanger the missions worth millions of dollars&nbsp;to search for signs of life on mars.

However, the report points out that much of the discarded parts had to be abandoned in order to preserve ships as they soar through the Red Planet's harsh atmosphere. An example of this is NASA's Perseverance, which weathered seven minutes of hell when it landed in February 2021, and also resulted in the creation of an unavoidable amount of trash.

Nine dormant spacecraft, including the Mars 3 and Mars 6 landers, the Viking 1 and Viking 2 landers, the Sojourner rover, the Schiaparelli lander of the European Space Agency, the Phoenix lander, the Spirit rover, and the Opportunity rover, are currently stranded on Mars.

Kilic claims that the majority of the robots are still in working order and that space agencies consider them as historical artefacts rather than scrap metal.

Although the Pentagon in the United States has long hinted, speculated, and warned that some UFOs may be cutting-edge military technology from foreign militaries, particularly China and Russia (though it hasn't really provided any evidence this is actually the case), the paper does not specifically address the war.&nbsp;

The Ukraine paper is noteworthy in particular because it not only demonstrates how science has continued to advance during the war, but also provides an explanation for these sightings.

“We see them everywhere,” the research said. “We observe a significant number of objects whose nature is not clear.”

'Unidentified aerial phenomena I'&nbsp;is the title of the essay. Events are observed using data from the main astronomical observatory of the NAS in Kyiv and Vinarivka, a village south of Kyiv. The authors of the study claim that because of their interest in the topic, observatories decided to take on the task of looking for UFOs as a separate initiative.&nbsp;

The simple explanation would be that these are rockets, missiles, or some other weapon used in the conflict. However, the scientists say that it is "not clear" what they are.&nbsp;

However, Prof Richard Easther, a physicist at Auckland University had a far simpler answer. According to The Guardian, he believed that the spiral was created by a rocket.

“When the propellant is ejected out the back, you have what’s essentially water and carbon dioxide – that briefly forms a cloud in space that’s illuminated by the sun. The geometry of the satellite’s orbit and also the way that we’re sitting relative to the sun – that combination of things was just right to produce these completely wacky looking clouds that were visible from the South Island.”

Mysterious blue light in New Zealand night sky sparks alien and UFO rumours

In a recently released photo of Mars by NASA, a self-proclaimed UFO expert has claimed to have spotted an unusual creature on the giant red planet. Share his discovery on the UFO Sightings Daily website, Scott Waring, a self-proclaimed alien researcher found something strange between the rock formations on the surface of the red planet. The Taiwan-based extraterrestrial expert claimed that it resembled an ‘elephant-like-creature’ and that its existence was concrete proof of life on Mars.

“Today, I found some interesting ancient alien artifacts in a Mars photo,” Scott Waring wrote on&nbsp;UFO Sightings Daily.

“The most outstanding artefact is a statue of an elephant-like creature with a short trunk. It is sitting down and turned looking to the left,” he said describing the features of this unknown creature in his June 10 report.

“There is also a huge face with thick lips, open mouth and a round nose, two eyes,” adding, “Proof of life on Mars, without a doubt.”

Waring’s observations came days after NASA’s Perseverance rover released photos of the Mars where several people spotted a ‘thermal blanket.

At NASA headquarters in Washington, DC, Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator, Science Mission Directorate, said, "NASA believes that the tools of scientific discovery are powerful and apply here also." &nbsp;

During the National Academy of Sciences webcast, Zurbuchen added, "We are not shying away from reputational risk. Our strong belief is that the biggest challenge of these phenomena is that it's a data-poor field." &nbsp;

NASA head Bill Nelson said that he believes on accounts of UFOs. “We're taking this very seriously. I've talked to the Navy pilots that know that they saw something back in 2004. They tracked it on their radar off the Southern California coast, over the Pacific. Since then, hundreds of objects have been spotted and a couple of them were explained, they may be balloons, but most of them are unexplained. So I’ve asked NASA, and it will be announced within a few days, to approach this subject from a scientific standpoint, since we are a scientific research organisation. In about eight months, they’re going to report,” Nelson told a news briefing.

The hearing has attracted a lot of attention among the public but the authorities made it clear that the possibility of aliens in microscopic with respect to the entire topic. The investigation into UFOs is primarily about the existence of foreign objects invading into the domestic airspace.

According to News24, there were reports of a “green asteroid-looking” object falling through the sky around 8 am on Wednesday and the residents took to Facebook to confirm the sightings. Withing a few hours, there were multiple users who reported similar sightings and some of them went on to suggest a “possible alien invasion”. The green light along with the asteroid-like object flashed in the sky for a brief period of time and similar sightings were reported from people in Durban and Johannesburg.

“It was a really strange sighting. I saw this object with lights that were flashing. I told my sister about it and she thought I was crazy. I don’t really believe in aliens or UFOs, but who knows if it is true,” said Maryna Buys on her Facebook account according to the report on News24.

The report also said that Kate Da Cunha Rosario was one of the early users to enquire about the event on Facebook as he posted on the Voices of Pietermaritzburg group - “a bright green asteroid-looking thing flying through the sky at 8:05 am in the Scottsville area”.

NASA has reportedly confirmed that it will get involved in searching UFOs days after the historic Congress hearing raised concerns over the potential “threats” by these flying saucers.

According to DailyMail.com, which has cited sources, NASA will be helping the US UFO investigation.

A NASA spokesperson said it is “evaluating how to provide our expertise in space-based Earth observations to improve understanding of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs)” and “has consulted with multiple government entities”.

However, it has denied it was setting up its own dedicated UAP office.

NASA’s decision comes weeks after the historic Congress hearing on UAPs in 54 years where the spotting of the flying saucers was officially acknowledged.

During the hearing, they also came up with a new law mandating a government UAP task force, which will be aided by NASA.

According to DailyMail.com, a source affiliated with the US government and knows of NASA’s UAP research said that the US space agency could gather evidence from astronauts.

“I suspect it will be a combination of efforts that will include perhaps firsthand eyewitness testimony of NASA employees and astronauts, and then perhaps a review of old archival footage to assess if there are some findings within the NASA archives that can help AOIMSG.”

NASA confirms it will join US govt’s team to search for UFOs: Report

The US Congress on Wednesday held its much-anticipated public hearing on aliens and the UFOs for the first time in 50 years on Wednesday, where a few interesting facts came to the fore while several myths were busted.

The House Intelligence Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence and Counterproliferation held the question-and-answer session. It was hosted by two Pentagon officials to discuss the possibilities of Unexplained Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) or as the military terms UFOs.

“UAPs are unexplained; it’s true,” Indiana representative Andre Carson, the subcommittee’s chair, observed in his opening remarks.

“But they are real. They need to be investigated, and many threats they pose need to be mitigated.”

During the hearing, top Pentagon intelligence official Ronald Moultrie said that through "rigorous" analysis, most, but not all, UAPs were identified.

Here are some of the interesting observations made during the hearing.

1) During the hearing, US Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence Scott Bray admitted that reports of UAPs are “frequent” and have been on the rise for more than a decade.

2) He shared a declassified video of a reflective, unidentified sphere-shaped object that “zooms” passed a pilot flying in a Navy training range, visible only for a few short frames.

3) In a separate clip and a similar photo taken at different times, glowing triangles are seen in the night sky.

4) The officials said that a number of events have defied all attempts at explanation. They added that the sightings recorded by the military include 11 "near-misses" with US aircraft.

5) They found that some UAPs were seen to be moving without any propulsion.

But Bray added: "There are a small handful of cases in which we have more data that our analysis simply hasn't been able to fully pull together a picture of what happened." These, Bray said, have involved unexpected "flight characteristics" or "signature management."

"When it comes to material that we have, we have no material, we have detected no emanations, within the UAB task force that would suggest it is anything non-terrestrial in origin," Bray added.

"We know that our service members have encountered unidentified aerial phenomena, and because UAP pose potential flight safety and general security risks, we are committed to a focused effort to determine their origins," Moultrie, who oversees a newly formed Pentagon-based UAP investigation team as U.S. defense undersecretary for intelligence and security, told the hearing.

Scott Bray showed two UAP clips to the panel. In one clip, a flashing triangle-shaped object in the night sky was seen. &nbsp;The other showed a shiny, spherical object zipping past the cockpit window of a military aircraft.

"I do not have an explanation for what this specific object is," Bray said of the second object.

Both the officials told the subcommittee that Pentagon wanted to remove stigma associated with sightings of UFOs and wanted to encourage pilots to report when they see such phenomena.

The notion of alien spacecraft received no mention in last June's UAP presentation. The focus, instead, was on possible implications for US&nbsp;national security and aviation safety, as it was in Tuesday's hearing.

The report did, however, include some UAPs previously revealed in Pentagon-released video footage of enigmatic airborne objects exhibiting speed and maneuverability exceeding known aviation technology and lacking any visible means of propulsion or flight-control surfaces.

There were a few reports of flying objects which showed speeds and movements beyond existing technologies, but the overall focus will remain on increasing security as well aviation safety.

While the possibility to alien activity was not completely denied, the report focused more on the possibility of some secret technology which was developed by other countries.

According to AFP. the report, which was compiled by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and a Navy-led task force the Pentagon formed in 2020, will be examined once again.

For several decades, the existence of UFOs has caused a lot of debate around the globe. While the governments over the world have remained tight-lipped about its presence, the idea that there might be extra-terrestrial creatures living in outer space was never shot down entirely.

To uncover this phenomenon, the US Congress will be holding an open hearing about the UFOs for the first time in 50 years on the coming Tuesday (May 17).

The hearing will stream live starting at 9 am EST (6.30 pm IST) and it will be followed by a closed, classified hearing on the Pentagon program, known as the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group.

The House Intelligence Committee's subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence and Counterproliferation hearing will focus on a Pentagon program that was established last year after the US intelligence community released a preliminary assessment on 144 reports of "unidentified aerial phenomena' or UAPs' since 2004, out of which only one had been explained, reports CNN.

A mysterious strobe of lights that was spotted in 1995 sparking UFO rumours turned to be that of celestial bodies, astronomers have claimed.

The 1995 eerie incident happened when two American pilots flying the American West flight 564 from Dallas, Texas, to Las Vegas claimed to have a close encounter with a 'UFO'.

However, latest reports suggested that it might not be the case as was previously believed.

Captain Eugene Tollefson and his co-pilot John Waller were cruising at an altitude, with a full cabin of passengers, when a flight attendant saw something odd in the sky.

Although there was no interaction between the plane and the UFO, the crew reported seeing strange lights in the distance among clouds, reports Daily Express.

Waller then contacted Air Traffic Control in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to report the object.

A transcript of the exchange can be heard where Waller was saying, “Off to our three o’clock, got some strobes out there. Could you tell us what it is?”

When promoted about what he saw, Waller said: “There’s a strobe and starts… um, going on counter-clockwise, and uh… the length is unbelievable.”

After failing to detect the mysterious aircraft on radar systems, the Air Traffic Control called the pilots back, saying, “Cactus 564… we checked with Cannon and they don't have any, uh,&nbsp;weather balloons or anything up tonight.&nbsp;Nobody upfront knows any idea about that. Do you still see it?”

They replied: “Negative… back where we initially spotted it was between the weather and us and when there's lightning you could see a dark object… and, uh, it was pretty eerie looking.”&nbsp;

The odd incident had astronomers befuddled who then tried to analyse the situation.

A 50-year-old picture has gone viral on the internet, with netizens claiming it shows an unidentified flying object (UFO).

The image was taken by Sergio Loaiza in 1971 when he went to Costa Rica for a survey of land before the beginning of the construction of a hydroelectric project.

Costa Rica's citizen Esteban Carranza, who has a contact copy of the original negative from the national archives of the country, had shared the image on Twitter.

Netizens claim this 50-year-old picture is showing an unidentified flying object

Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) or unique airborne objects fascinate the world. Till now, several sightings of UFOs have been made. It shows a UFO-like object lying on Mars' surface. Is this a Martian automobile? Is this an intergalactic transit pod? What is it, exactly?

Firstly, we must accept that it would've been the coolest thing ever if it actually was a UFO or a piece of alien hardware. But no...the object in the picture is of human origins.

It's a piece of a shattered spacecraft that NASA owns. The component you see in the picture is called 'backshell' that detached from the space agency's Perseverance rover in February 2021.

However, as NASA engineer Ian Clark put it, the images "exude otherworldly" vibes.

The photographs were shot by the Perseverance rover's robotic helicopter buddy, Ingenuity after it spent a year on Mars.

This isn't just space waste, according to the New York Times, analysing the remains of this backshell could be useful for NASA's next trip to Mars, which has been dubbed Mars Sample Return.

Two landers will be placed on the planet's surface, as well as a rover that will gather space rock, i.e., rock samples that are drilled Perseverance, and a rocket that will launch these samples into orbit so that they can be returned to Earth.
