The characters were created by cartoonist Charles Addams in 1938 and have had many adaptations over the years (including the 1993 film Addams Family Values, pictured above, with Christina Ricci in the Wednesday role). While Burton`s previous work like `The Nightmare Before Christmas` seemingly drew some inspiration from the franchise, this marks his first Addams Family project.

Leaving all their wealth, money and land, the people of Afghanistan are waving goodbye to their homeland in the hope of a new and better life amid the chaotic and horrifying situation that erupted after the Taliban took over the country. Like others, Afghan filmmaker and photographer Roya Heydari also left her county and while leaving, she shared a heartwrenching post. Taking to her Twitter account, the filmmaker posted a photo of herself from the airport showing the situation of a war-torn country, in which she is seen sitting and waiting outside the airport. Watch | WION exclusive: Afghan pop star Aryana Sayeed: I'm grateful to be alive, I was Taliban's target I left my whole life, my home in order to continue to have a voice. Once again,I am running from my motherland. Once again, I am going to start from zero. I took only my cameras and a dead soul with me across an ocean. With a heavy heart, goodbye motherland. Until we meet again pic.twitter.com/MI3H8lQ5e4 — Roya Heydari (@heydari_roya) August 26, 2021 × ''I left my whole life, my home in order to continue to have a voice," the photojournalist wrote. ''Once again, I am running from my motherland. Once again, I am going to start from zero. I took only my cameras and a dead soul with me across an ocean. With a heavy heart, goodbye motherland. Until we meet again," Heydari further wrote. As per reports, the Afghan filmmaker is currently staying in France. “Death only comes once, I’m not afraid of them killing me,” said Heydari. “What I feared was being caged, not being able to go outside and continue my work.” Her heartbreaking post is all over the internet and here's how people are reacting to it. Roya, filmmaker and photojournalist, is one example of the massive brain drain out of #Afghanistan. #KabulAiport terror attacks, despite Taliban’s peace promise, are some of the reasons why Afghans are desperately trying to leave the country while leaving everything behind. https://t.co/3nOPsq8tXV — Saleem Javed (@mSaleemJaved) August 26, 2021 × If you found @heydari_roya because of her viral tweet, but haven’t looked more at her photos & videos from #Afghanistan - please take the time to change that.
Universal Music Group, which is behind singers such as Justin Bieber and is owned by France`s Vivendi, expects further revenue growth this year as streaming sales boom and it aims to pay out dividends once it lists in Amsterdam, it said.

Due to being floated on Sept. 21, the company helps to promote and distribute boyband BTS and singers such as Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande as well as making earnings from rights.

Universal is already valued at around 33 billion euros ($38.80 billion), based on deals struck so far to sell off part of the group to investors including US billionaire William Ackman. Vivendi will spin off 60% of the unit to its own shareholders as part of the process.

Universal executives said at a capital markets day on Wednesday that they expected 2021 revenue to grow by over 10% at constant currencies, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rising over 20%. That would mark a bounce from 2020, when annual sales reached 7.4 billion euros, up 4.7% on a comparable basis.

The company also said it would pay out half of its profits as dividends in the medium term, although it did not detail when payments would start. Vivendi shares turned positive after the disclosures and were up 0.48% at the market close.

"I believe that we`re at the beginning of a new cycle, a new wave of growth," Chairman and Chief Executive Lucien Grainge said. Universal, which competes with rivals such as Warner and Sony, reaps streaming revenues from subscription platforms such as Spotify, with royalties flowing back to the artists it represents.

It overcame a challenge to the music industry`s model in the 2000s when online piracy was rife by leaning on paid downloads and subscriptions, which have caught on.
Physical sales of records have also recovered this year after a blip at the start of COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020, and Universal is pushing ahead with new models, striking music licensing deals with social media sites such as TikTok or in areas like video games and fitness applications.

Vivendi, controlled by French billionaire Vincent Bollore, has not ruled out share buybacks as a way to support Vivendi`s stock after the Universal initial public offering (IPO), which will see it spin off its big cash cow.

Vivendi also owns pay-TV group Canal Plus, advertising group Havas and publishing unit Editis.

Simu, like all of us, is a Marvel fan, who brought light to having an Asian Superhero back in the time when Captain America and Thor were in the limelight. He sparked an idea that was accepted years later by Marvel. And, guess what? He is Marvel’s first Asian superhero. While this might be a mere coincidence how the universe aligned this role for him, but, it surely gives us enough motivation to not miss this movie.
The fighting style in the film is inspired by Jackie Chan

The action sequences performed by Simu in Shang Chi and The Legends of Ten Rings are inspired by Jackie Chan. As we all know, Jackie Chan is famous for his quintessential martial arts and acting skills. There is no wonder that the stunts from this film might look similar to JC movies because MCU used the same stunt team. Being a stuntman himself, it will be exciting to watch Simu adapt a few famous tricks a la JC style and implement them in a Marvel movie.

What makes Simu Liu and Shang Chi similar?

Simu is very similar to his character Shang Chi. He firmly stands for what he believes in and tries to showcase his beliefs and ideas through his work. In life, he also tries to break barriers and explore topics and subjects which are less talked about. We can find the same characteristics in his superhero avatar as well. Shang Chi too is someone who stands for what he thinks is right and functions around the whole notion of how to make this world a better place to live.

Charming action hero

When it was announced that Simu Liu will be headlining this movie, the actor-writer-stuntman immediately became the talk of the town. It became breaking news for his and MCU fans across the globe. Everyone was surprised and has been looking forward to an Asian actor, known for comical roles, to don the hat of a superhero on screen. The first glance of the movie, Simu Liu as an action hero, was appreciated. He notched up his charming game, looks handsome and every bit a perfect fit, more so because he wasn't confined to a muscular physique, but kept it real and relatable. He broke the traditional barriers of how a superhero should be like.

Passionate actor

Known as a hard-working and passionate artist, Simu gives his 100 percent to every character he takes up. He practices his role for hours and hours to get in the skin of the character and feels comfortable becoming someone else in the reel world to do justice to his performance. Apart from his acting prowess, it’s his dedication and determination that made Simu the one and only choice for the makers of this movie.

WION: When you look at those very desperate scenes coming out of the airport at Kabul and you were one of those lucky few ones who managed to get out of Kabul in time. What exactly was going through your mind and how were you feeling, knowing that you were just one of those lucky ones who managed to escape, get out of the country?

ARYANA SAYEED: Well, I am obviously very grateful. I am grateful that I made it out alive of Afghanistan along with my fiancée. But, to be honest with you, I am really very worried and concerned about my people back there who are still there and have nowhere to go and they are living a life of misery and fear right now. It's just heartbreaking and even though I have been out of Afghanistan for the past seven days now. But my mind and heart is still there and I do not feel normal at all.

WION: Can you narrate to us the ordeal that you had to go through to get out of Afghanistan?

ARYANA SAYEED: Well, my fiancée and i were first booked initially on a commercial flight to take off from Afghanistan on 15th of August. But by the 15th of August, we went to the airport at around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and our flight was supposed to be at 8 pm. So we went to the airport and it was just packed with people. There were thousands of people and it was really difficult to--first of all--get in.

It would have taken a few hours, and so we get in and waiting to be checked in and at around 5 or 6 pm, we heard gun shots. And we (got to know) that the Taliban was just outside the airport and they were going to come in any minute now. As a result of that, everybody got scared and people started running around--the airport staff and the security ran away and left the people just like that.

The planes were open to public and everybody was just rushing in inside the planes with small children with bags on their shoulders and things like that. So, unfortunately, by the time I got on the plane I see that there's no space at all to sit there and there is no space to stand. It was packed with a thousand people. Also, it needs to be mentioned that the pilots ran away, they were scared as well. They couldn't fly the planes with thousands of people hanging on (to) the plane. There were also individuals who were armed with guns on them. So the plane couldn't take off that day. We had to come off the plane and then come back to the terminal. Inside the terminal we (were) confused and thinking 'what should we do, what should we do?' Because outside there's Taliban.

Also, we had heard the news they they were going to come inside, walk in. So we had to take a risk and get out of the airport somehow. With the help of a few cousins of my fiancée, who came in like angels, took us out of the airport. We had to walk through gunshots and bullets. They were trying to shoot in the air because they were trying to scare people off so that they do not rush inside the airport. So we got away at 10 or 11 in the night and then the next day, we attempted for the airport again which was very risky, especially for me because I am a well-known face in Afghanistan as you know and I have been a women's rights activists. I have been a target (of the Taliban) in the past.

So it was extra challenging for me to make that journey from my house to the airport. But (then) again, we had no choice but to take that risk. So we took two cars the next night and went to the airport, we passed a few Taliban checkpoints. But, luckily, they did not check us. One of them just looked through the window. We had some children with us because we wanted to blend in and look like a normal family. So, they didn't ask anything and let us go. So we get to the airport again--and this is the other side of the airport--where the American military base is and even this side is full of people and it would take you perhaps more than an hour or two to get to the gate where the base is. This is how packed the place was. The children were crying, babies were screaming.

WION: Also, Aryana, as an Afghan national who has been living through this crisis and has got her family living back in Afghanistan, who do you hold accountable for the mess that Afghanistan finds itself in now?

ARYANA SAYEED: Well, seriously, I don't know who to blame first. But, the first country that I would blame personally is Pakistan because that's exactly where the Taliban's trained, that's where their bases are, that's where they get their funding from and their instructions from. And, obviously, Pakistan is being funded by other countries. So its really like a crazy situation, its like a dirty game, dirty political game that is being played inside of Afghanistan. Unfortunately, that's never-ending. The lives of so many people--innocent people--is being sacrificed as a result of a very dirty game that's being played. I blame the entire world now for leaving Afghanistan alone in the hands of Taliban. I cannot actually believe that they would reach a deal with a bunch of people who treat women like animals in Afghanistan, who don't even like women. They don't like humanity, they don't know what humanity means or what it should be. It's really heartbreaking and disappointing for all those innocent people who are being played and have nowhere to go. And they have to suffer, and suffer and suffer.

So, Afghan pop star Aryana Sayeed and her fiancée Hasib Sayed fled the country that's reeling under the atrocious ways of the Taliban regime. In an exclusive interview with WION--now living safely in Amsterdam for the last seven days--Aryana spoke about the most horrifying journey of her life, her anger towards the world for turning their backs on Afghanistan, and claims that for Taliban, women are no different than animals. Excerpts from the video conversation: Also read: 'Samantha Akkineni thought 'The Family Man 2' would flop, calls it 'risky' WION: When you look at those very desperate scenes coming out of the airport at Kabul and you were one of those lucky few ones who managed to get out of Kabul in time.
