<p>On Thursday, celebrity chef and former TV presenter, Guy Fieri, accepted a call during Stewart's interview on Today. the 'Twilight' actress was surprised by a video message from Guy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Hey Kristen, Guy Fieri here, and I heard through the Flavortown grapevine that you are looking for a sweet spikey-haired officiant for your wedding. I'm all in!" he said in his pre-recorded message to her.&nbsp;<br />
"Oh my god. Is he joking?" Stewart said after being taken aback by this kind gesture.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The younger sister said that her sister did not tell her what had happened until years later, when Natalie said she was brought into Mr Douglas' suite and "he hurt me, Lana."</p>

<p>Kirk Douglas died in February of 2020 at the age of 103. Rumours of the alleged assault were so strong that after his death, Wood's name was trending along with his own on Twitter.</p>

<p>His actor son Michael Douglas, in a statement issued through his publicist, told The Associated Press, "May they both rest in peace."</p>

<p>When asked whether she put up with his bullying to maintain peace, the actor replied, “To a degree. I did feel alright [when he bullied me]. Ok, I would shake [afterwards] and it did depress me, but there was a cartoon aspect about the whole thing.”</p>

<p>Rumours of tension between Johnson and Diesel began making the rounds back in 2016, while 'Fast &amp; Furious 8' eight was underway.&nbsp;</p>

Sumomomomomomomomo: Horse with this exact name has won a race in Japan

<p>Space is full of wonders beyond our imagination. Though we have gazed far and deep into reaches of the black expanse, a lot remains unknown and what is known continues to surprise and mesmerise us. It's a good thing NASA and other space agencies are keeping track of it all.</p>

<p>A new image posted by NASA has transfixed everyone. The image shows a celestial structure that is like an eye in the sky looking at us from above. The eye does not appear benevolently watchful but has a mesmerising glow to it. The eyelashes are blue while the iris is blazing red.</p>

<p>Who is watching? God? or the Devil himself?</p>

<p>The eerie beauty is imparted to the photo by Helix Nebula which has been captured by Spitzer telescope. Helix Nebula is 700 light-years away from Earth and located in the Aquarius constellation.</p>

<p>NASA has posted the image on its Instagram account.</p>

<p>"The two-light-year diameter shroud of dust and gas around a central white dwarf, is an example of a planetary nebula, one of the final stages in the evolution of a Sun-like star. The dust makes this cosmic eye gleam red," says NASA in its Instagram post.</p>

Formed in the distant planetary system, the comet-like bodies have otherwise survived the dramatic late stages of the star’s evolution...," says NASA</p>

Dressed to impress! Carrie Johnson, Brigitte Macron look uber stylish at G20 summit

<p>Dance is both the central theme and a lens to inspect contemporary culture in “Kandis Williams: A Line,” the debut New York solo exhibition of the multimedia artist and the inaugural presentation of 52 Walker, the new space that the David Zwirner gallery has opened in Tribeca.</p>

Some of the collages are marked with annotations, the artist thinking out loud about affect, performance and politics.</p>

Tall plants set about the gallery appear to break the theme, but on close inspection, they are artificial, some leaves imprinted with eyes or colored in flesh tones, returning attention to the body.</p>

She is an artist who draws connections; her first museum solo, recently at the Institute of Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University, explored migration, tobacco plantations, prison farms and tango. An inveterate researcher, she shares sources and intellectual inspirations in photocopied readers and zines she publishes through Cassandra Press, the imprint she co-founded. Later in the run, the exhibition will add a library area where visitors may browse or borrow pertinent texts.</p>

The exhibition keynotes an experimental, even exacting, program that curator Ebony Haynes has set for 52 Walker, a kunsthalle-like venue where shows will run for several months. We visited with Williams and Haynes to talk about dance history, the foregrounding of Black dancers in today’s popular culture, and Williams’ growing interest in choreography. The conversation has been condensed and edited.</p>

Siddhartha Mitter: Kandis, what drew you to examine dance so closely now?</p>

Williams: Dance is so reflective of social scripts and social impulses that we don’t feel that we have to name but that become wrapped in characters and fictions and passed along as mimetic educational tools for how we are supposed to interact.</p>

<p><br />
And we’re in a moment right now. Last year saw a proliferation of us, especially in Black communities worldwide, trying to disassociate and disidentify from caricature, state-sanctioned violence, social scripts that have been destructive to our community. And I don’t think it’s coincidental that we now see, in our art markets and commercial markets, a renewed interest in positioning Black bodies and dancers. Black TikTokers, for example, are pervasively appropriated.</p>

<p><br />
Siobhan Burke: We’re also seeing more Black ballet dancers in corporate advertising.</p>

<p><br />
Williams: The rush of diversity and inclusion campaigns has put performing Black bodies in places that have to negotiate racist performative expectations and anti-racist sentiments simultaneously. [Dance scholar] Brenda Dixon Gottschild says that the Black body keeps the measure of popular culture.</p>

Mitter: Your new collages have titles that abound with references to dance history and ideas. One includes the line “Between cult and theater lies the stage as a moral institution.”</p>

Williams: That’s a quote from Oskar Schlemmer, the theorist and propmaster of the Bauhaus theater. When he calls the stage a moral institution, it raises the question of how indebted our social structures are to the lines of the modern theater — and by extension media, which has become a stage. The scholar Katherine McKittrick demonstrates how much visual hierarchy goes back to the trans-Atlantic slave trade, and how as a result almost every unit of popular measure is some evidence of white supremacy, and thereby some level of erasure. Shakespeare says all the world’s a stage, but whose stage?</p>

Mitter: The collages include photographs you made of three dancers you worked with: Catherine Kirk, Damond Garner and Natasha Diamond-Walker. What did that interaction consist of?</p>

Williams: I brought them into the studio, and we talked through what forms and shapes their bodies fit, what techniques they’ve been versed in. I think it’s a common conversation in dance that maybe Black dancers and Black body types have certain phenotypic traits that deem them better suited to certain roles or positions. We thought through what their bodies have to go through, or feel, in certain attitudes or techniques.</p>

Mitter: So you’re thinking of the way they’ve been trained —</p>

<p><br />
Williams: And the accumulation of that training. When I’m directing, I’m sort of directing within that index of muscular and reflexive conditioning. But I’m also working with a person, a person who might hurt themselves in certain attitudes or techniques, or who might really enjoy the pain of certain positions.<br />
Burke: In the video installation, Natasha Diamond-Walker moves across a stage marked with lines. How did you generate the movement?</p>

Williams: Those are all very particular movements. Each, literally point A to point B, is a set of three movements that hit the center, turn into another movement and then finish at the end of the line. I’m using a host of vernacular dance movements: for example, take a part of the [Native American] Buffalo Dance, into a particular kind of jazz motif, into a tree pose. Relying on Natasha’s Martha Graham training, we built a choreography that was both concise and hybrid.</p>

Burke: You went into this show with the idea of creating a dance notation — a system of symbols for documenting movement — but ended up going in a different direction.</p>

Williams: The idea of a notation is such a fraught space. Because notation so often denies the interiority of the dancer — it flattens the entire experience to the dynamics of the stage. So what I’m kind of doing here is riding the two sides of that line: a notation that could maybe contemplate the dualism of the experience of being a performative Black body.</p>

I feel like with this show, I’ve crossed the stage. It’s going to be nice to do more choreographic and performance work.</p>

Mitter: Your projects involve extensive and time-consuming research. What are some of your sources for the dance work?</p>

Williams: I’m kind of married to this practice at this point, so it feels like good quality time. The Jerome Robbins Dance Division [of the New York Public Library] has been really great. The Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Archives of American Art — I’m trying to shout out my sources! Jacob’s Pillow has a really cool interactive dance website.</p>

Haynes: As a director and curator, this is what you work for — to work with artists that you respect, and learn something along the way. Nothing’s tied up in a fine bow at the end; that’s not what I’m striving for. I’m trying to do something that hopefully affords more time to produce but also to be in the space. Kandis Williams envisions dancing bodies without borders

<p>An introverted rapper Karma found solace in music, so, he started writing rap songs. From humble beginnings to now being a well-known rapper in Mumbai's booming rap-and-hip-hop scene, the young musician has come a long way.</p>

In this exclusive interview with WION, Karma talks about life struggles inspiring art, his rapport with Raftaar and talks about the 'superpowers' he has. Excerpts:&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
<strong>WION: Tell us about your music journey and what influenced your choice to become a rapper.</strong></p>

<p><br />
Music journey has been great. I started writing songs in 2011, used to upload videos on YouTube and now , its my fourth year of being a signed artist and thankfully things are good. I used to be a very introvert guy, and I found that music was my medium to express my thoughts out. Hip-hop is a very expressive art form and music gave me the superpowers to convey my message as it is out to the people.&nbsp;</p>

<strong>WION: Tell us about your latest album 'M. Y. P'-Made you proud' and its key inspirations.</strong></p>

<p><br />
'M.Y.P - MADE YOU PROUD', is my debut album, and a very special project to me.&nbsp;<br />
It's a tribute from my side to my late father and everybody else who supported and believed in me from day one. I took my time to complete the project, The goal was to showcase versatility and that's what I was able to achieve. The features on the album, the producers, the music videos, made it a &nbsp;project full of colours and full of different vibe.</p>

<p><br />
<strong>WION: How did you cope with the loss of your father at such a young age and how did that influence your choices?</strong></p>

<p><br />
It was very sudden and I was 22 at the time, responsibilities came and I was a new guy instantly. This is not something to cope I guess, you just try your best to live alongside the fact that a major part of your life is gone.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
<strong>WION: Did stammering ever pose as a shortcoming for you professionally and how did you make it an advantage for you?</strong></p>

<p><br />
Stammering can be a big problem if you want to succeed with an artform like Rap.&nbsp;<br />
This need proper diction, flows and everything else. The fun part is that I never stammer while rapping thus its was never a problem professionally.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
<strong>WION: Tell us about your mentor Raftaar and some unique experiences you have shared with him.</strong></p>

<p><br />
Its always good to have the best people around. Raftaar is more than a mentor, he and I share a very unique bond. The brotherhood grows deeper every time we meet. It's always a good experience working with him. Studio sessions are fun and informative.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
<strong>WION: What is your view on the current hip hop scene in India and how do you see yourself in this scene, in what capacity?</strong></p>

<p><br />
Hip-hop scene in India is blooming right now and It's really good to see that.&nbsp;Current hip hop scene is very vast, everyone is making different sounds and everybody is grabbing a different kind of audience. The good part about my music is that it's a common man voice. Everybody relate to it and that is a huge advantage to an artist because in the end you want your music to be receptive by Mass.</p>

In this exclusive interview with WION, Karma talks about life struggles inspiring art, his rapport with Raftaar and talks about the 'superpowers' he has. Excerpts: WION: Tell us about your music journey and what influenced your choice to become a rapper. Music journey has been great. I started writing songs in 2011, used to upload videos on YouTube and now , its my fourth year of being a signed artist and thankfully things are good. I used to be a very introvert guy, and I found that music was my medium to express my thoughts out. Hip-hop is a very expressive art form and music gave me the superpowers to convey my message as it is out to the people. WION: Tell us about your latest album 'M. Y. P'-Made you proud' and its key inspirations. 'M.Y.P - MADE YOU PROUD', is my debut album, and a very special project to me. It's a tribute from my side to my late father and everybody else who supported and believed in me from day one. I took my time to complete the project, The goal was to showcase versatility and that's what I was able to achieve. The features on the album, the producers, the music videos, made it a project full of colours and full of different vibe. WION: How did you cope with the loss of your father at such a young age and how did that influence your choices? It was very sudden and I was 22 at the time, responsibilities came and I was a new guy instantly. This is not something to cope I guess, you just try your best to live alongside the fact that a major part of your life is gone. WION: Did stammering ever pose as a shortcoming for you professionally and how did you make it an advantage for you? Stammering can be a big problem if you want to succeed with an artform like Rap. This need proper diction, flows and everything else. The fun part is that I never stammer while rapping thus its was never a problem professionally. WION: Tell us about your mentor Raftaar and some unique experiences you have shared with him. Its always good to have the best people around. Raftaar is more than a mentor, he and I share a very unique bond. The brotherhood grows deeper every time we meet. It's always a good experience working with him. Studio sessions are fun and informative. WION: What is your view on the current hip hop scene in India and how do you see yourself in this scene, in what capacity? Hip-hop scene in India is blooming right now and It's really good to see that. Current hip hop scene is very vast, everyone is making different sounds and everybody is grabbing a different kind of audience. The good part about my music is that it's a common man voice. Everybody relate to it and that is a huge advantage to an artist because in the end you want your music to be receptive by Mass.

<p>"When we started winding down the pitch, and getting to his death, Robert started crying. And when we were done, he said, 'That's f***ing awesome.' That's when we knew that we had to do it. Because he felt it," Joe said, as per reports.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"In a way, it's almost like a death in the family. When you're saying to someone, 'All these people you've loved and have hung out with for 10 years? That's all gonna go away because we want to tell a story a certain way'," Joe added.</p>

<p>Anthony further added that getting Downey Jr's approval on Tony Stark's end was of paramount importance to them. "What we wanted to do is communicate the entire pitch to Robert, to sort of take his temperature on it, because he had so much creative ownership over the character. We were like, 'If Robert gets this, if Robert feels this, then we know we're in a good place'."</p>

<p>A white shark nudged closer, gliding just above actress Cobie Smulders, like a fan asking for a selfie. Smulders welcomed the intrusion. “This is cool,” she said, rapt, as the shark slid past in the waters of the New York Aquarium.</p>

Smulders, adored for her nine seasons on the sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” has loved aquariums for as long as she can remember. As a mermaid-obsessed child in British Columbia, she visited the Vancouver aquarium often and spent weekends on her father’s sailboat, wondering about the life below the water’s surface. The University of Victoria accepted her to its marine biology program.</p>

But a few months before school began, she fell in with some theater actors and deferred for a year. And then another year. And then another.</p>

An avid scuba diver and an ambassador for Oceana, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the world’s oceans, Smulders never gave up on the water. She participates in beach cleanups near the Los Angeles home she shares with her husband, actor Taran Killam, and their two daughters. And she campaigns against the single-use plastics that clog waterways.</p>

“It’s a human conversation that needs to be talked about more loudly,” she said.</p>

She still has mermaid fantasies. “I still think it could be a possibility,” she said. And she still loves aquariums, though only those that favor conservation.</p>

On a recent trip to New York City to promote the FX limited series “Impeachment: American Crime Story,” she took a car to Coney Island to visit the aquarium’s shark exhibit.</p>

She breezed in from the boardwalk just before noon, showing her vaccine card to a giddy employee. “I thought I recognized you!” the woman said as she checked Smulders’ ID. Rather than dressing for the beach, Smulders had chosen a monochrome look: belted black Chanel blazer, black jeans and black boots with stamped metal buckles that shone in the October sunlight. Pearls plucked from some very talented oysters hugged her neck.</p>

In the first building, she cooed over yellow snappers and pointed out some angelfish, then admired the stripes on some zebrafish. “Mother Nature knows what’s up,” she said approvingly.</p>

A cow nose ray caught her eye, as did a yellow rose goby. “I want to be the person who gets to name these,” she said. “You can have a lot of fun with that job.”</p>

Smulders, 39, seems to have fun with most jobs. On “Impeachment,” which revisits the impeachment of Bill Clinton, she plays right-wing pundit Ann Coulter, a member of the Elves, a group of conservative lawyers who advised Paula Jones’ team.</p>

With hair like a Westminster-winning Afghan hound, legs like the Eiffel Tower and a voice as clipped and polished as a high-end manicure, her version of Coulter finds pleasure everywhere she goes, usually because she brings multiple bottles of wine along. And yet she remains as coldblooded as the aquarium’s sharks.</p>

“You’re all too nice,” her Coulter says of her fellow Elves during a late-night strategy scene.</p>

Initially, Smulders had resisted the role. The “Impeachment” producers had approached her a few weeks before the 2020 presidential election, the first in which Smulders, a proud Canadian who recently became a U.S. citizen, could vote. Smulders votes a liberal ticket, so sharing head space with Coulter, who has written books such as “Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism,” didn’t seem healthy or fun.</p>

But Killam was already attached to the series as Steve Jones, Paula Jones’ husband. And “Stumptown,” the moody procedural on ABC in which Smulders starred, was canceled because of the pandemic, freeing up her schedule.</p>

So after Donald Trump lost the election, Smulders taped an audition. Playing an ultraconservative — especially an ultraconservative with a miniskirt wardrobe and a Champagne habit — no longer felt so dark to her.</p>

“She’s the only one who can actually have any fun,” Smulders said of her character. “This confidence that this woman has, to be able to walk into a room and think you’re the smartest person in the room, that you’re the most powerful person in the room, that is the polar opposite of me and my life.”</p>

In the shark building, which Smulders had entered after passing a harbor seal (“Hi, friend!”) and a waddling penguin (“You can do it, buddy!”), it was clear where the power lay. Crawling into a tunnel just past the coral reef section, she marveled at the zebra sharks and bamboo sharks swimming just inches away. “I want to set up a little cot in there,” she said when she emerged. “Waking up to that? Heaven! Heaven!”</p>

On a recent family trip to Oahu, she went for a cage dive with huge Galápagos sharks. “That was a crazy thing,” she said. She enjoys humbler marine life, too. Polyps are an obsession, as is algae, which has a mutualistic relationship with reefs.</p>

Further into the shark exhibit, past a re-creation of a shipwreck, Smulders stopped at Hudson Canyon’s Edge, a dramatic wall of water. She admired the rays, floating past like cheerful ghosts, and a whiskered fish that swam beneath them. “I love a little mustache on a fish,” she said. A loggerhead cruised by, pausing to admire her Tod’s bag. Sharks surrounded her, some of them grinning toothily. Smulders smiled at each predator.</p>

As a songwriter, Sheeran is something of a modern pop mathematician, gifted with an ability to reduce seemingly disparate genres (adult-contemporary pop, British hip-hop, Gaelic folk) down to their least common denominators.</p>

Since his 2011 debut, “+,” he has presented himself proudly as a hopeless romantic. “See I could do without a tan on my left hand, where my fourth finger meets my knuckle,” a then-21-year-old Sheeran sang on the sparse, unabashedly sentimental ballad “Wake Me Up.” In some sense, his fourth solo studio album, “=,” pronounced “equals” (one wonders what will happen when he soon runs out of arithmetic signs), has the potential to be the fullest realization of the Ed Sheeran ethos yet — the first since his December 2018 marriage to his childhood friend Cherry Seaborn. Honeymoon mode: Engage.</p>

“I have grown up, I am a father now, everything has changed but I am still the same somehow,” Sheeran sings on the opener, “Tides,” in a flagrant display of telling rather than showing. Musically, though, “Tides” is one of the most effective songs on the album, a stomping, surging lite-rocker arranged around a neat formal trick. After verses that rush through a list of Sheeran’s fears and neuroses, the track suddenly seems to suspend itself in midair during the chorus, long enough for Sheeran to reveal to his loved ones, “Time stops to still, when you are in my arms it always will.” (Sheeran recycles the effect later in the album, on “Love in Slow Motion.”)</p>

<p><br />
More than any of his previous LPs, “=” finds Sheeran mining the slick, synthesized sounds of ’80s pop. While he works again with writer and producer Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol, he adds a new collaborator on more than half the tracks: Fred again.., a British dance-music artist.</p>

<p><br />
But the retro aesthetic is most indebted to an album that is only a year and a half old, the Weeknd’s massively successful “After Hours.” His silhouette has lately cast a long shadow across his fellow male pop stars (Justin Bieber, the Kid Laroi), though it’s most apparent on Sheeran’s current hit, “Bad Habits,” a pulsating, strobe-lit lament in the tradition of a Weeknd song: “It started under neon lights and then it all got dark,” Sheeran sings, recounting another night of empty, bleary-eyed partying.</p>

<p><br />
Where the Weeknd’s music often revels in decadence and nihilism, Sheeran’s depictions of wild nights are often accompanied by a potent dose of morning-after guilt and the eventual possibility of redemption — usually a kind of quasi-religious salvation that can be attained through the love of a good woman. As he puts it on “The Joker and the Queen,” a music-box piano ditty on “=” that stretches a poker metaphor exhaustingly far, “When I fold, you see the best in me.”</p>

<p><br />
“=” is the kindest, gentlest Sheeran album, which is something of a shame. Each of his previous records had at least one song that complicated his image as a heart-on-his-sleeve nice guy, whether that was the surprisingly venomous music industry sendup “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” or “New Man,” his previous solo album’s sassy kiss-off to both a former flame and her subsequent boyfriend.</p>

<p><br />
The soulful grain that sometimes adds texture to his smooth croon is also seldom heard on this record. The driving conflict of “=” rarely strays from or goes deeper than a familiar, repeatedly stressed mantra: Life comes at you fast, but it slows to the tempo of a wedding waltz when you’re in love.</p>

<p><br />
An Ed Sheeran album wouldn’t be complete without a mawkish tear-jerker, and here it’s “Visiting Hours,” as in, he wishes heaven had them. Sheeran follows that indulgent weepie with a literal lullaby, the lilting, Jack Johnson-esque “Sandman.” He has grown up, he is a father now, in case you had somehow forgotten.</p>

<p><br />
At least the best song on the album is also the one that seems destined to be his next you’ll-hear-it-till-you’re-sick-of-it smash: “Overpass Graffiti,” a moody, synth-streaked ’80s throwback that sounds like a more melancholy update of Rod Stewart’s “Young Turks.” Here, Sheeran proves that even as a married man, he’s still able to tap into old heartbreak: “There are times when I can feel your ghost, just when I’m almost letting you go,” he sings, his voice convincingly weighted with nostalgia.</p>

<p><br />
Earlier, in that rush of insecurities that forms the verses of “Tides,” Sheeran admits that in the past he has been “too busy trying to chase the high and get the numbers up.” That confession might suggest that he’s ready to put algorithmic crowd-pleasing in the past, but it turns out to be an empty promise.</p>

<p><br />
Ultimately, “=” neither adds to nor subtracts from the trusty formula for success that he long ago worked out. It is the sleek sound of stasis.</p>

Musically, though, “Tides” is one of the most effective songs on the album, a stomping, surging lite-rocker arranged around a neat formal trick. After verses that rush through a list of Sheeran’s fears and neuroses, the track suddenly seems to suspend itself in midair during the chorus, long enough for Sheeran to reveal to his loved ones, “Time stops to still, when you are in my arms it always will.” (Sheeran recycles the effect later in the album, on “Love in Slow Motion.”) More than any of his previous LPs, “=” finds Sheeran mining the slick, synthesized sounds of ’80s pop. While he works again with writer and producer Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol, he adds a new collaborator on more than half the tracks: Fred again.., a British dance-music artist. But the retro aesthetic is most indebted to an album that is only a year and a half old, the Weeknd’s massively successful “After Hours.” His silhouette has lately cast a long shadow across his fellow male pop stars (Justin Bieber, the Kid Laroi), though it’s most apparent on Sheeran’s current hit, “Bad Habits,” a pulsating, strobe-lit lament in the tradition of a Weeknd song: “It started under neon lights and then it all got dark,” Sheeran sings, recounting another night of empty, bleary-eyed partying. Where the Weeknd’s music often revels in decadence and nihilism, Sheeran’s depictions of wild nights are often accompanied by a potent dose of morning-after guilt and the eventual possibility of redemption — usually a kind of quasi-religious salvation that can be attained through the love of a good woman. As he puts it on “The Joker and the Queen,” a music-box piano ditty on “=” that stretches a poker metaphor exhaustingly far, “When I fold, you see the best in me.” “=” is the kindest, gentlest Sheeran album, which is something of a shame. Each of his previous records had at least one song that complicated his image as a heart-on-his-sleeve nice guy, whether that was the surprisingly venomous music industry sendup “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” or “New Man,” his previous solo album’s sassy kiss-off to both a former flame and her subsequent boyfriend. The soulful grain that sometimes adds texture to his smooth croon is also seldom heard on this record. The driving conflict of “=” rarely strays from or goes deeper than a familiar, repeatedly stressed mantra: Life comes at you fast, but it slows to the tempo of a wedding waltz when you’re in love. An Ed Sheeran album wouldn’t be complete without a mawkish tear-jerker, and here it’s “Visiting Hours,” as in, he wishes heaven had them. Sheeran follows that indulgent weepie with a literal lullaby, the lilting, Jack Johnson-esque “Sandman.” He has grown up, he is a father now, in case you had somehow forgotten. At least the best song on the album is also the one that seems destined to be his next you’ll-hear-it-till-you’re-sick-of-it smash: “Overpass Graffiti,” a moody, synth-streaked ’80s throwback that sounds like a more melancholy update of Rod Stewart’s “Young Turks.” Here, Sheeran proves that even as a married man, he’s still able to tap into old heartbreak: “There are times when I can feel your ghost, just when I’m almost letting you go,” he sings, his voice convincingly weighted with nostalgia. Earlier, in that rush of insecurities that forms the verses of “Tides,” Sheeran admits that in the past he has been “too busy trying to chase the high and get the numbers up.” That confession might suggest that he’s ready to put algorithmic crowd-pleasing in the past, but it turns out to be an empty promise. Ultimately, “=” neither adds to nor subtracts from the trusty formula for success that he long ago worked out. It is the sleek sound of stasis.

<p>Veteran Bollywood actor Yusuf Hussain has passed away, his son-in-law, director Hansal Mehta confirmed the news on Twitter.</p>

<p>The late actor was being treated at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, where he breathed his last on the morning of October 30, Mehta told Indian news agency PTI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hansal Mehta, who is married to his daughter safeena, took to his Twitter to express his sorrow over the passing of his father-in-law. he wrote, "I had completed 2 schedules of Shahid. And we were stuck. I was troubled. A non-existent career as a filmmaker was almost finished completely. He just came up to me and said I have a fixed deposit and it is of no use to me if you are so troubled. He wrote a cheque. Shahid was completed. That was Yusuf Husain. Not my father-in-law but a father. He was life if life itself had to have a physical form."</p>

He had reportedly said, "Yes, I have married thrice but I’m probably still looking for that perfectly understanding partner. But I’m 60 plus now, maybe that search will never end!"<br />

<p>And now, in an exclusive interview with WION, the film's producer--Vignesh Shivan--tells us that they will do everything in their capacity to bring the honour home. During his minutes long interview, Shivan also touched upon the debate around 'Sardar Udham', laughed when asked about 'Parasite' movie's global recognition, &nbsp;and explained why India hasn't secured a Oscar nomination since 2001.</p>

<p><strong>WION: Now my first question for you is what was your reaction when you learnt that your film has been chosen to represent India at the Oscars? Were you expecting this, considering your film was up against formidable competitrs like 'Sherni', 'Sardar Udham' and many more?</strong></p>

<p><strong>VS:</strong> Expectations were there because the film had a very good festival run already. When it got selected for Rotterdam (Film Festival), that's when we ourselves that 'okay, this film is something special'. Since then, it has been surprising us every step of the way. We won the Tiger Award (at Rotterdam Film Festival). Wherever it got selected, the film ended up getting some laurel.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>WION: I am sure you are keen to here those words as we are: 'And the Oscar goes to...' How strong are the film's chances of securing a nomination or even, in fact, taking the trophy home?</strong></p>

<p><strong>VS: </strong>As of now, most of the (other) films are soemthign wre have already met at other film festivals. Our film has been to mutiple film festivals across the globe and won mutiple awards, expect for the films that have been screened at Cannes Film festival 2021. Everything about the film is positive, we have not received even a small negative review about the film. Everyone's been awestruck and their expression after watching the film has been overwhelming (for us). We are going to put ourselves forward and do as much as possible: we are going to publicise the film as much as possible. We will give this our best shot, let's see how things turn out.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>WION: Now the last time an Indian film secured an Oscar nomination was way back in 2001 when Aamir Khan-starrer 'Lagaan' almost went to the finish line. What do you think are the reasons behind India's performance at the Oscars?</strong></p>

<p><strong>VS:</strong> 'Lagaan' was a pathbreaking film, yes. And after that, a lot of Tamil films have also represented if we go a couple of years back. 'Visaranai', a film by our own director Vetrimaaran sir, was a very good film. But then to enter the short list, there are a lot of factors that come into play. How well are we able to present the film, the PR activity behind it and even the kind of positioning the film has. We are putting our best foot forward (this timr round) and doing our best. If we get more support, I think we will be able to crack this <em>(smiles!)</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>WION: Talking about cinema in general, Korean film 'Parasite' has been lauded a lot by the international film community as a whole. How do you view this film's success at the Oscars?</strong></p>

<p><em>(Laughs!)</em> 'Parasite' had a dream run, we would be happy if we get that kind of critical acclaim and recognition. For every filmmaker, it is their dream to stand on the stage of the Academy Awards.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>WION: Before we wrap up, we know that Vicky Kaushal has congratulated you recently and Shhotjit Sircar's 'Sardar Udham'--starring the actor in lead--was one of the contenders to becoming India's official entry for the Oscars. Jury members have now said that the film was not chosen because it propagates hatred against the British. What do you have to say about this?</strong></p>

<p><strong>VS: </strong>It is very generous of Vicky Kaushal sir to appreciate our film, it shows his magnanimity. It shows how humble he is. Since I have not watched 'Sardar Udham' yet, I don't know what to say or how to comment on that. But I am sure it must be a great film as it has come to this level and was supposed to be the official entry for the Oscars. Even if the jury had selected 'Sardar Udham', we would have been really happy for that film. By seeing the promos and trailers, it looks like a brilliant film. It looks like a great film. Once something gets selected (for a major award), we have to support one another. That's how we look at it.&nbsp;</p>

WION exclusive: 'Koozhangal' maker: It was big of Vicky Kaushal to congratulate us on our Oscar selection

<p>Those of you who follow Bhuvan Bam’s sketches on YouTube—turns out, a lot of you do—would know this man has an innate talent for cooking up dangerously awkward situations with extremely hilarious characters. All played by the man himself. In ‘Dhindora’, he takes it notches higher and his alter egos from ‘BB Ki Vines’ (the YouTube channel that made him the digital star he is today) get to live and breathe in the real world... or not!</p>

<p>‘Dhindora’ stays true to Bam’s signature style—subtle satirical motifs—with a certain middle-class Papa <em>ji</em> at the heart of a humungous conflict: he has won a lottery but doesn’t seem to remember the details. It doesn’t help tad bit that Mummy <em>ji </em>is a loudmouth looking for charity projects to nurture.&nbsp;</p>

<p>No skit of Bhuvan Bam’s is complete without his expletive-mouthing band of brothers. Here, we have a nymphomaniac and a catch-phrase stealer to keep those outrageous one-liners coming: If those two do not crack you up, we don’t know who&nbsp;would.</p>

<p>Sitting here, writing this review, reminds us of what Bam had said during <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/lifestyle/news-wion-exclusive-bhuvan-bam-%E2%80%98dhindora%E2%80%99-could-have-been-on-any-ott-platform-but-thats-unfair-to-my-viewers-424368">his recent interview with us</a>— “…what this series really stands for is the importance of family, the importance of relationships.” In spirit, when one moves beyond the stereotypical Delhi aesthetics and young-lad profanities this eight-part series otherwise rides on, one would see what lessons Bam is actually trying to impart—life is too short to take a beloved for granted. In all fairness, life indeed is man’s greatest teacher and Bam knows that all too well.</p>

Clocking close to half an hour per episode, ‘Dhindora’ follows the traditional technique of storytelling—nothing wrong with that, of course—of leaving the viewers with a mystery to come back for in its weekly-episodic-release format. So far, it has worked tremendously well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the recently released trailer of 'Will Smith: The Best Shape of My Life'--a YouTube originals docuseries on him--the actor can be heard discussing the highs and lows of his life, his mental health journey and the work that needed to be done to stay healthy.&nbsp;</p>

Will Smith considered committing suicide: Mentally, I was somewhere else

When she walked into the room for our virtual interview, the first thing we noticed about breakout star Kubbra Sait is her energy—free, easygoing and no-drama plastered all over her face.

When she walked into the room for our virtual interview, the first thing we noticed about breakout star Kubbra Sait is her energy—free, easygoing and no-drama plastered all over her face. “When you are on stage, there are no retakes,” she tells WION, when asked about the difference in approach in West and at home. Kubbra, who became a household name in India for her marvellous character Kuckoo in Emmy-nominated ‘Sacred Games’, has now gone global. In Apple TV’s recently released project ‘Foundation’, the actor plays a crucial role—that of Phara Keaen. Ask her about the back story behind bagging such a grand project and she shares it with the enthusiasm of a child. “I was doing my sales pitch left, right and centre,” she joked, or maybe not. Kubbra Sait has been many people in her brief yet impactful career and she will tell you she’s massively proud of each one of them. In a tete-a-tete with WION, the actor shed light on the topic of age-appropriate roles for women in cinema, the boom of OTT and what it meant for the masses, and why one should not hanker after inclusivity if that doesn’t happen organically. Edited excerpts (for clarity) from our conversation with the actor: WION: Okay, so first of all, tell me how does it feel to be called a global star? KB: Am I a global star yet? If you insist, I'll take it with a pinch of salt. Thank you so much (grins!) WION: So tell us everything about Apple TV's ‘Foundation’. How did it happen? What prompted you to take it up? Tell us everything related to your first global project. KB: It started off in 2019. I was called in for an audition by Tess Joseph and her casting company. I auditioned, and after a couple of attempts, I got the tape, which we nailed. And then I was called to Ireland for a screen test. I think the first time I really felt that I had got this part was when they put me in a silicone meld, and they took my facial, like size and dimensions. But after my test, I was very sweetly told that, you don't have it yet, so you have to wait to hear from us. (I said) I've come (with) this vibe; please don't do this to me just yet. I was, like, you know, my show sacred games was nominated the Emmys, I'm a very good actor, I was doing my sales pitch left, right and centre. All they said is, please focus on your lines and just do this well, and we'll come back to you. I think that was literally the journey, and on the 11th of Jan, I got that proverbial call. I was making my coffee, it was still night in LA. I got a call from my agent saying, well, congratulations, you are Phara Keaen in Foundation. So literally, that was the journey from its inception to me finally going there. And yeah, then the pandemic happened. I shot one scene which is the action scene that you'll see in episode five. That was the first scene we shot, and the next day I got a call saying so we're suspending the production for 15 days. (By) the fifth day of suspension, (it) became an indefinite suspension of the show, and then you're like, oh my god, is this even going to happen? What's going to be the fate of this show? Because you've already built so many mountains and so many castles in the air, you're like, oh my god; this is going to be the greatest thing that I've ever done. And now it's like, nothing's going to happen. Just sit at home and wait. (But) I'm so happy to report back after a year that now the show is successfully complete. The show is successfully doing well. It's on Apple TV plus, and I'm so excited. So that's our journey. WION: Like you mentioned, you joined the cast again after a year. So how did you get back into the skin of your character? Well, that must've required a lot of learning and un-learning on your part? KB: I came back in March, and we were back (to shooting) in September, so six months later, we went back to shoot. But when I went back, I was literally doing lines for the first time because up until this point (it) was just action that we had shot. So the genesis of my character happened during the second schedule, when I went back. And it was just incredible to build from the script and mouth these lines, and make her come alive and make her the fierce. It's just such a juicy character love it. WION: So you have worked in a Bollywood movie, you are a big name in the OTT space (featured in Emmy nominated ‘Sacred Games’), of course, and you have also done an international project. So, what, in your opinion, is the basic difference between these three platforms in terms of the work culture? What did you observe? KB: Eventually, we all are actors, and that is something that we need to first understand before anything else. But what particularly blew my mind is that time is an important factor for everybody there. Time is valued and people are valued. There are no excuses for being late, or not learning your lines, or you will not have an assistant director standing in to like give lines for somebody else. Everybody is there, and everybody is sincerely performing, even if the camera's not on them. Because most of these actors belong to a theatre background, they studied acting, they've done this for a long time. When you are on stage, there are no retakes. We all are in this together, and I thought that, for me it was an incredible learning experience. I say this a lot. And I'm going to say this again, as if I really have no other words. But to be honest, me this was like going to school and getting paid to go to school. WION: In ‘Jawani Jaaneman’, you play a mature character, right? So there was a time in Indian cinema when actresses did not get to play central characters after a certain point in their careers. But I feel that has changed with time. Vidya Balan doing ‘Sherni’ was a classic example of that. So what do you think about the advancement in the depiction of women in cinema? KB: I think it's changed drastically. I think it's been changing over years. You are playing age appropriate roles. Maturity is a state of mind. It's how much you've travelled, how much you've eaten, how much you've seen, and how much you live, and how much you failed. That's what reach reaches maturity, even in that film. So I'm saying that maturity is something that comes to you with experience, and that doesn't mean you need to be old or not. I think, for me it's a very cool character, because (it was) for the first (time) I've ever played a pretty person on screen. So I'm very grateful. It was angst-y, and I wasn't like that loud and bubbly person that I am, I was just like a very, like, simple, grounded, very self assured person. I thought that was just the greatest experience of playing Ria in ‘Jawani Jaaneman’. When you come to Mumbai, you think that I am going to be that quintessential heroine but then you need to have the quintessential hero, and then you need to have that antagonist. So I think that being said, just the scope of stories, you're telling is changing. This really, really touched me, like really close to my heart, because my help who lives with me, lost her husband, she's one year older than I. Who talks about these stories, who talks about people like them who can be characters on screen. And for that kind of a story to be told is fantastic. It means we are evolving, because these are real people, somewhere in the real world. So I remember Ruthie and I watched that film together. It's such a beautiful film. It was pretty good. WION: ‘Shang Chi’ released recently. And we are awaiting the release of another diversified movie, ‘Eternals’. With the changing time—now more than ever—there's a lot of conversation around inclusion, especially of Asian actors in Hollywood. So do you think that Indian actors—with so many of you having made it to global cinema—are slowly but surely becoming a part of the whole inclusion narrative? KB: I think it's not to make a statement, but as I said, everybody is evolving, and you need to give that room for evolution. Allow stories to be told. But we are like also in a rush. I'm like, what's the rush? The question is, are people opening their eyes? And are they ready to embrace your individuality? And when you are there on that stage in that room? Do you deliver? And if you do, then you will receive the validation and the gratification, but I don't think we are necessarily waiting for XYZ to come in and say, ‘You are a part of my show, because I want to address inclusivity’. She could have been from anywhere in the world, she just happened to be me, because of my audition. And the makers believed that this character could be authentically from Southeast Asia. So that had nothing to do with me, except for the fact that I worked hard and gave my audition and delivered. But everything else depended on the vision of the makers. And they stood by their vision. And they stood by the fact that this choice is right. It's as simple as that. And I really, really wish that more stories are written and more crossovers happen. I wish that we stopped typecasting a white person to be somebody who is British, and a tyrant. Now they are getting better roles, we are getting better roles, the world has become smaller. OTT has allowed all of us to see the world in a different light. Today you've got Eternals being directed by a female director. So instead of harping on all the things that aren't happening, try to speed up the process towards things that are happening. As you know, a journey that needs to happen is that arc that needs to be explored. Then I think we'll get there together. It's not about throwing in inclusivity for the sake of it, right? It needs to have a narrative; it needs to have a story to be told. And I'm so grateful that my story as Farah in foundation is worth a story being told. That's all that matters to me. And I think if I do something that allows people to see more Indians in that space, very well. At the end of the day, we all are doing great work, and the least we can do is sit in our respective living rooms, have a cup of chai, watch the show, watch the work and celebrate each other. <p>His mortal remains will reportedly be put to rest beside the grave of his father, the legendary Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar, in Bengaluru.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan, has finally walked out of Arthur Road prison in Mumbai around 11 AM on October 30, three weeks after being taken into custody in a drug case.</p>

<p>The star kid walked out amid tight security, media presence and his father by his side amid a scrum of fans, media and onlookers.</p>

<p>Aryan Khan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on October 28.</p>

<p>Jail officials had opened the bail box outside Arthur Road Jail at about 5:30 am on Saturday to collect bail orders. Reports said a physical copy of Aryan Khan's bail release order was also part of the lot on Friday.</p>

Desperate to piece it all back together, the pair makes a move from Mumbai to Maldives. Little did they know that a fresh start in a foreign land would entail a brawl with the devil.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Director Jay Krishnan (aka Jay K) has remade his own Malayalam debut movie, ‘Ezra’, in Hindi and called it, mysteriously, ‘Dybbuk’. While we cannot comment on ‘Ezra’, we sure have our two bits to share on the latter. First things first, the jump scares—a prerequisite for horror mystery—are barely there to evoke any sense of fear, even the ones that are inserted into the script lack conviction and fail to erect&nbsp;the hair on your head… leave alone evoking goose bumps! Twist (read: attempt to rediscover) comes in the form of religion. Crowd favourite Christianity and its notorious exorcism—still pining for a <em>desi</em> version of&nbsp;‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’, ‘The Conjuring’ saga and what not!—has been plucked out of equation and Rabbis and Judaism have been introduced to make it look… new? Fresh? Well, that did not sit well with critics et al. A rehash is a rehash is a rehash!</p>

It also comes off as rather rude and obnoxious that the makers turn this horror story into a guide to Jewish folklore, thus evoking a sense of inferiority among the audience by virtue of assumption that they cannot read between the lines. A massive downer.</p>

<p>James expressed that he was not happy with the ending of the show during a press conference exchange with fellow Los Angeles Lakers player Anthony Davis. James’ comments weren’t directed towards Hwang, the man behind the South Korean series, which the creator answered when asked about the same during a recent interview with Guardian.</p>
