The two people have been identified as Tyrone Rose and Shamara Simmons. They have been arrested on charges of fraud and exploiting a system loophole. Through an offshore ticket vendor for StubHub, they were able to access already-sold-out tickets via their URLs and resell them for exorbitant prices.&nbsp;
They were charged on February 27 with grand larceny, computer tampering and conspiracy. They face sentences of three to 15 years in prison if convicted. The investigation was referred to prosecutors by StubHub.
The fraud came to light when about 350 StubHub orders for 1000 tickets were stolen. This happened between June 2022 to July 2023. The fraudsters used their access to StubHub&rsquo;s computer system to find a backdoor into the network where sold tickets were given a URL and queued to be emailed to the purchaser, according to prosecutors.&nbsp;

The stolen URLs were then emailed to others involved in the scheme who downloaded the tickets and resold them on StubHub. They allegedly made over $600,000 with this scheme.&nbsp;
<h2>About 1,000 tickets stolen</h2>
Most of the tickets were for high-profile artists, including Taylor Swift, Adele and Ed Sheeran, as well as NBA games and the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.
Authorities are now investigating the matter and are looking for any other participants who might have been involved in this scam. &nbsp;In a statement, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said, &ldquo;According to the charges, these defendants tried to use the popularity of Taylor Swift&rsquo;s concert tour and other high-profile events to profit at the expensive of others.&rdquo;

This comes in the wake of a deadly attack in New Orleans on New Year's Day, where a man drove his pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street at approximately 3:15 am on Wednesday (Jan 1), killing 15 people.
New Orleans Police Commissioner Anne Kirkpatrick described the driver as being &ldquo;hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did.&rdquo; She further added that the driver&rsquo;s intention appeared to be to &ldquo;run over as many people as he could.&rdquo; Additionally, two police officers were shot by the suspect, but both are now in stable condition.
The FBI said that the suspect died following a gunfight with the police. After the truck came to a stop, the driver opened fire on officers, who returned fire, leading to his death.

The driver has been identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar who reportedly was inspired by Islamic State as an ISIS flag was found in his vehicle and he also posted some videos on social media expressing a desire to kill hours before the incident took place.

"The FBI also reported to me that mere hours before the attack, he posted videos on social media indicating that he was inspired by ISIS, expressing a desire to kill. The ISIS flag was found in his vehicle which he rented to conduct this attack. Possible explosives were found in the vehicle as well, and more explosives were found nearby...The investigation is continuing to be active and no one should jump to conclusions," Biden said.

A vociferous critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin, 47-year-old Alexei Navalny died on February 16, 2024 in a desolate penal colony above the Arctic Circle. He had been serving sentences totalling more than 30 years on charges he said were rigged to silence his criticism of the Russian president.

Opposition leader Navalny, known as Putin's most vocal critic as per Russia's federal penitentiary service, "felt bad after a walk, almost immediately losing consciousness."

They added that while medical staff arrived immediately and an ambulance team was called, resuscitation measures "did not yield positive results."

However, his wife Yulia Navalnaya insists that Navalny was murdered.

To celebrate Taylor, a huge giant birthday party was thrown that was attended by the singer and her boyfriend's close friends. 
Swift's close friend Ashley Avignone also attended the party and shared a few photos on her Instagram handle. In the caption of the post, Avignone wrote, ''When she thought she was going to a small, quiet dinner but it was actually a giant surprise party with her friends and family, props included ?''
Meanwhile, Ashley deserved a prize for her dress as she wrapped a replica of a reptile around her neck, giving an ode to the Reputation era.

"The minute you finish a marathon, or the minute you win the World Series, or the minute somebody gets tenure, you know, the first question is, what are you going to do next?" she told AFP.

"I'm starting to make sense of that as a real cultural sickness."

But in an industry that's constantly seeking what's young, new or fresh,&nbsp;"what's next" is nevertheless always front of mind.

The Swifties are still waiting on more "Taylor's Version" albums: Since 2021 Swift has been making good on her vow to re-record her first six studio records in a bid to own the rights to them.

She's got two left, "Reputation" and "Taylor Swift."

While the new ranking was a reason for celebration for her fans, who call themselves &nbsp;Swifties, the tribute video for the singer that Billboard made did not go down well with her fans.&nbsp; 
 
Billboard shared a tribute video for Taylor Swift on its social media handles with the caption, “@taylorswift takes the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century. (silver medal emoji).”&nbsp; 
 
However, a part of the tribute video featured footage from Kanye West aka Ye's 2016 music video of Famous. The video has Taylor's naked wax statue next to West's and others. The vocals suggest he and Taylor “might still have sex” because he “made that b**ch famous" is also part of the tribute video.&nbsp;

Naturally, this particular portion did not go down well with many of Swift's fans.
