Justin Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, has submitted a signed affidavit to the court, doubling down on claims that Blake Lively's legal team threatened Taylor Swift to support Lively in her upcoming legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star Baldoni.

Fraudsters stole Taylor Swift's concert tickets

The two people have been identified as Tyrone Rose and Shamara Simmons. They have been arrested on charges of fraud and exploiting a system loophole. Through an offshore ticket vendor for StubHub, they were able to access already-sold-out tickets via their URLs and resell them for exorbitant prices.

They were charged on February 27 with grand larceny, computer tampering and conspiracy. They face sentences of three to 15 years in prison if convicted. The investigation was referred to prosecutors by StubHub.

The fraud came to light when about 350 StubHub orders for 1000 tickets were stolen. This happened between June 2022 to July 2023. The fraudsters used their access to StubHub’s computer system to find a backdoor into the network where sold tickets were given a URL and queued to be emailed to the purchaser, according to prosecutors.

Super Bowl: Taylor Swift taken aback as she gets booed by Eagles fans while watching the Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs aim for a historic hat-trick of Super Bowl titles on Sunday when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in front of a star-studded crowd in New Orleans headed by US President Donald Trump.

Trump, a strident critic of the National Football League over the years, will become the first sitting president ever to attend the Super Bowl when he takes his seat among a sell-out crowd of around 74,000 fans at the Caesars Superdome for the biggest annual event in the American sporting calendar.

Pop superstar Taylor Swift will also be in the VIP seats to watch as her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his Chiefs team-mates bid to become the first team in history to lift three consecutive Vince Lombardi Trophies.

Trump's presence at the NFL showpiece will heighten security around an event which was already protected by a heavy police presence following the New Year's Day attack which left 14 people dead and many more injured in the Big Easy's famous Bourbon Street district.

"I'm confident the safest place this weekend will be under the security umbrella we have in place around (the Superdome)," Cathy Lanier, the NFL's chief security officer, said this week. "We have reviewed, and re-reviewed, all the events of January 1."

Trump's groundbreaking attendance at the game comes against a backdrop of a strained relationship with the NFL stretching back several decades, when he sought to join the league as an owner in the early 1980s only to be rebuffed.

Trump also triggered uproar during his first term as president when in 2017 he criticized NFL players who knelt during the playing of the US national anthem to draw attention to issues of racial injustice.

Players in Sunday's game have so far walked a diplomatic line when asked about Trump's presence, with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes saying playing in front of the US leader would be "cool."

Fans in New Orleans meanwhile expressed hope that Trump does not politicize the occasion.

"I'm hoping that basically he comes in and he's at his seat and they kind of like keep it quiet. I just want it to be a fun game and not be political," Debra Ward, a teacher from Virginia, told AFP.

As always, the Super Bowl crosses over into popular culture and the half-time show this year will feature hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar, who had a clean sweep at last Sunday's Grammys, winning in all five categories for which he received nominations.

Bookmakers and casinos meanwhile are taking odds on whether Chiefs star Kelce will propose to pop icon Swift after what might be his final game in the NFL. Reports late Saturday said the 35-year-old is considering retirement after the Super Bowl.

American sports books, now legal in 38 states, could take an estimated $1.39 billion in bets on the Super Bowl according to an annual report from the American Gaming Association (AGA).

Chiefs’ favourites

For the more serious punters, the oddsmakers have the Chiefs as slight favourite for the game, a rematch of the Super Bowl from two years ago which the Chiefs won by three points.

The Chiefs defended their title last year, beating the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas and putting them one win away from an unprecedented "three-peat".

The 29-year-old Mahomes will become one of just four quarterbacks in the history of the NFL to have won more than three Super Bowls should he triumph again, having first led the Chiefs to Super Bowl glory in 2020.

But the Eagles have added serious offensive firepower since their defeat two years ago with mobile quarterback Jalen Hurts joined by the game-changing speed and power of running back Saquon Barkley.

The Chiefs put the finishing touches to their Super Bowl preparations on Saturday with a 30-minute walkthrough of a mock game.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid saluted his team's attitude to training over the whole week since arriving in Louisiana.

"I thought the guys worked hard, they got done what they needed to get done," Reid said.

The Eagles had a similarly relaxed final session before heading to the Superdome on Saturday for a team photo.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said his players were "hungry" and "ready to roll."

"We're ready for the challenge against a really good team," Sirianni said.

Also read | Alcaraz sets up Rotterdam Open final date with Australia’s de Minaur Trump's presence at the NFL showpiece will heighten security around an event which was already protected by a heavy police presence following the New Year's Day attack which left 14 people dead and many more injured in the Big Easy's famous Bourbon Street district. "I'm confident the safest place this weekend will be under the security umbrella we have in place around (the Superdome)," Cathy Lanier, the NFL's chief security officer, said this week. "We have reviewed, and re-reviewed, all the events of January 1." Trump's groundbreaking attendance at the game comes against a backdrop of a strained relationship with the NFL stretching back several decades, when he sought to join the league as an owner in the early 1980s only to be rebuffed. Trump also triggered uproar during his first term as president when in 2017 he criticized NFL players who knelt during the playing of the US national anthem to draw attention to issues of racial injustice. Players in Sunday's game have so far walked a diplomatic line when asked about Trump's presence, with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes saying playing in front of the US leader would be "cool." Fans in New Orleans meanwhile expressed hope that Trump does not politicize the occasion. Chiefs’ favourites For the more serious punters, the oddsmakers have the Chiefs as slight favourite for the game, a rematch of the Super Bowl from two years ago which the Chiefs won by three points. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said his players were "hungry" and "ready to roll." "We're ready for the challenge against a really good team," Sirianni said.
A vociferous critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin, 47-year-old Alexei Navalny died on February 16, 2024 in a desolate penal colony above the Arctic Circle. He had been serving sentences totalling more than 30 years on charges he said were rigged to silence his criticism of the Russian president.

Opposition leader Navalny, known as Putin's most vocal critic as per Russia's federal penitentiary service, "felt bad after a walk, almost immediately losing consciousness."

They added that while medical staff arrived immediately and an ambulance team was called, resuscitation measures "did not yield positive results."

However, his wife Yulia Navalnaya insists that Navalny was murdered.

The 72-year-old French woman was at the centre of a mass rape trial in France. The horrific case had Gisele's ex-husband Dominique Pelicot as the perpetrator. Waiving off her default right to anonymity, Gisele asked for the trial to be open to the public to raise awareness of sexual violence against women and drug-induced rape. On December 19, 2024, Dominique was handed the maximum term of 20 years in jail. Alongside him, 50 other men accused of raping Gisele were also convicted and handed terms of between three and 15 years. Donald Trump: "Fight, fight, fight" (Image courtesy: AFP) 2024 was the year Donald Trump made his comeback. The former president, on July 13, survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Escaping the attack relatively unscathed, he became the subject of an iconic image. The photo from the incident shows Trump with blood streaking across his face as he pumped his fist in the air, appearing to mouth the words "Fight! Fight! Fight!". Come November, Trump created history by becoming the only convicted felon to be elected president of the United States. He also became the second President in US history to win non-consecutive terms.
The nearly two-year-long, $2 billion Eras tour shattered records, made history and quite literally triggered earthquakes -- so what could Taylor Swift, the planet's biggest star, possibly do next?

"Taylor Swift just needs to rest, frankly," said Andrew Mall, an ethnomusicologist at Northeastern University.

It's a wholly reasonable sentiment when you look at what the megastar, who turns 35 on Friday, has accomplished, including releasing nine albums in five years alongside a concert feature film.

The career-spanning global odyssey of a tour she just staged was like nothing that came before it: 149 shows across the world that typically clocked in at more than three hours long each.

Eras tour tickets sold for sometimes exorbitant prices and drew in millions of fans, along with many more who didn't get in and were willing to simply sing along from the parking lot.

"I think she can't top it right away," Mall told AFP. "There's just no possible way she can turn around and launch something else that has as large an impact, cultural and economic."

For Kristin Lieb, an expert at Emerson College on pop, gender and branding, the question of what's next isn't even particularly fair.

"The minute you finish a marathon, or the minute you win the World Series, or the minute somebody gets tenure, you know, the first question is, what are you going to do next?" she told AFP.

"I'm starting to make sense of that as a real cultural sickness."

- 'Up to her' -

But in an industry that's constantly seeking what's young, new or fresh, "what's next" is nevertheless always front of mind.

The Swifties are still waiting on more "Taylor's Version" albums: Since 2021 Swift has been making good on her vow to re-record her first six studio records in a bid to own the rights to them.

She's got two left, "Reputation" and "Taylor Swift."

Swift also has the Grammys in early February to look forward to, with six nominations including three in the most prestigious categories for her latest studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department," her fifth since 2019.

At this year's gala she used her award acceptance speeches to announce that new album -- another surprise up her sleeve would surely delight fans.

But looking past "what's next" is perhaps a larger question: how does an artist define success when they're already a cultural phenomenon, awash in riches and fame?

"The good news for her is, like, she's literally the biggest star in the world, and so that is entirely up to her at this point," said Lieb.

Live albums, a Vegas residency, further extending her incredibly recognizable brand into products? Anything is possible at the House of Swift.

Years ago it was announced she had penned an original screenplay and would be making her feature directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures -- so maybe she now has her sights set on the Oscars.

- Swiftie loyalty -

In any case, at this point Swift doesn't necessarily need to keep her fans constantly fed to keep them loyal.

She's fostered a community that is somewhat self-sustaining -- a contemporary, mostly online version of the fan engagement the Grateful Dead pioneered, which saw Deadheads commune in their reverence for the band.

Swifties might honor a request from their beloved to give her time and space, Lieb said -- "I do think that she's cultivated a relationship with them such that they could hear that and respect that."

The Eras tour, Mall pointed out, also bloomed from years of prolific music-making and audience-building -- so she might need time to develop more material before accomplishing another feat of that magnitude, if that's a goal of hers.

And in the mix of everyone else's expectations, Lieb said Swift might want to take a moment to consider what it is she herself wants: "What would be challenging and fulfilling for her?"

Swift does of course have a personal life, famously so: for more than a year she's been very publicly dating NFL star Travis Kelce, and might want simply enjoy herself and the fruits of her labor.

And in the grand scheme of it all, a key question remains: "Do we need Taylor Swift, or does she need us?" said Mall. "I think she doesn't need us, right?"

"And maybe we do her."

And in the mix of everyone else's expectations, Lieb said Swift might want to take a moment to consider what it is she herself wants: "What would be challenging and fulfilling for her?" Swift does of course have a personal life, famously so: for more than a year she's been very publicly dating NFL star Travis Kelce, and might want simply enjoy herself and the fruits of her labor. And in the grand scheme of it all, a key question remains: "Do we need Taylor Swift, or does she need us?" said Mall. "I think she doesn't need us, right?" "And maybe we do her."

Taylor Swift closed her Eras tour on top of the world. Now what?

Taylor Swift (Santa Claus) came early this year!

A heart-melting gesture! Time and again, Swift has won the hearts of her millions of fans with her sweet behaviours and surprise offerings.

The ''Lover'' singer turned 35 on December 13 and celebrated her birthday eve in the best way. A day before her birthday, the singer, reportedly along with her boyfriend Travis Kelce, visited the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she met her young fans.

In addition to meeting her fans, the singer made one girl in the hospital feel extra special by sending her the exact Christmas gift that she had wished for.

In a video shared on social media, a young girl can be seen unwrapping the present sent by Taylor. And guess what it was? It was a hair tool that she had mentioned to the singer during her visit.

Playing a Santa Claus, Swift gifted her fan a $600 Dyson Airdrop Multi-Styler. In a clip, the fan can be seen wrapping the gift as she says, “It’s a Dyson!”
