An unreleased Lizzo track, which references the controversial jeans ad featuring Sydney Sweeney, has landed in legal trouble due to copyright infringement. The song's clips have made their way on social media.

American pop star Lizzo is being sued in a California court over a snippet of an unreleased song that went viral because of a reference to Sydney Sweeney. The post blew up in August after a reference to the US actress whose appearance in a jeans advertisement had already set the internet ablaze. The social media post in question for the track "I'm goin' in till October" has the four-time Grammy winner wearing not very much as she washes a car and says "I got good jeans like I'm Sydney." But lawyers for a firm called GRC Trust say the clip of the track -- which has never been sold -- uses a sample of "Win or Lose (We Tried)," a '70s soul ballad by American band Windy City, without permission. The firm, which owns the copyright for the track, wants Lizzo to compensate them because she "obtained profits they would not have realized but for their infringement" of the rights of the song. Lawyers say they tried to come to an informal agreement with Lizzo's team, "but reached an impasse, necessitating the filing of this case." The suit seeks an injunction to prevent the Lizzo song being distributed and money equal to the "defendants' profits, plus all GRC's losses." A representative for Lizzo told AFP: "We are surprised that the GRC Trust filed this lawsuit." "To be clear, the song has never been commercially released or monetized, and no decision has been made at this time regarding any future commercial release of the song."

<p>Sydney Sweeney has been at the center of controversy ever since she featured in American Eagle’s new ad campaign. In an attempt to revive the brand, they roped in Sweeney for a new ad campaign, which had her sporting seven different denim looks. The images seemed fine, but people raised objections to the ad's tagline, which read as “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans”. The line sent the internet into a spiral, with many claiming American Eagle for promoting eugenics. While the controversy rages on, Beyoncé has now been dragged into the discourse. A certain section on social media compared Sydney Sweeney’s ad to Beyoncé’s Levi’s campaign, which came out earlier this year in February.&nbsp;</p><h2>Beyonce and Sydney’s denim ads compared</h2><p>Back in February this year, Beyonce had collaborated with the popular denim brand and promoted the second chapter of Beyoncé's and Levi's "Reimagine" campaign titled "Pool Hall."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The images have suddenly resurfaced online in the past few days, which show Beyoncé striking a pose in a denim-on-denim look. In one image, she wears a strappy vest, layering the fitted number with an embroidered jacket and, of course, a pair of jeans. Many have drawn similarities between Beyonce and Sydney’s images, pointing out how their poses are strikingly similar to each other.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>While some users found both the ads identical, a few differed in their opinion.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"So Beyoncé can pose in Levi jeans and it's art… But when a white woman does it, it's a national crisis?" wrote one user and shared the two images side by side.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>What was the controversy around the American Eagle ad?</h2><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The ad, featuring Sydney Sweeney, offended many as it repeatedly played with the pun-intended words ‘genes’ and ‘jeans’, leading to sharp criticism. In the video, the actress says, "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality and even eye colour," before the camera focuses on her deep blue eyes. "My jeans are blue," she added.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Many highlighted the tone-deaf texts and captions of the ad and termed it ‘eugenics’ and called it ‘white supremacy’. Sydney Sweeney has been at the center of controversy ever since she featured in American Eagle’s new ad campaign. A certain section on social media compared Sydney Sweeney’s ad to Beyoncé’s Levi’s campaign, which came out earlier this year in February. Beyonce and Sydney’s denim ads compared Back in February this year, Beyonce had collaborated with the popular denim brand and promoted the second chapter of Beyoncé's and Levi's "Reimagine" campaign titled "Pool Hall." The images have suddenly resurfaced online in the past few days, which show Beyoncé striking a pose in a denim-on-denim look. In one image, she wears a strappy vest, layering the fitted number with an embroidered jacket and, of course, a pair of jeans. Many have drawn similarities between Beyonce and Sydney’s images, pointing out how their poses are strikingly similar to each other. While some users found both the ads identical, a few differed in their opinion. "So Beyoncé can pose in Levi jeans and it's art… But when a white woman does it, it's a national crisis?" wrote one user and shared the two images side by side.

Called Sydney's Bathwater Bliss, it is a medium-grit exfoliating soap that includes sand, pine bark extract, and a hint of Sweeney's bathwater. The limited edition product has gone viral. The announcement comes as a tongue-in-cheek response to requests made by some fans when the actress appeared in a Dr. Squatch ad sitting in a bathtub last year. "You kept asking about Sydney Sweeney's bathwater after we released our commercial… so we kept it. Introducing Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss! A very real, limited-edition soap made with Sydney's actual bathwater," read the post.

Dhanush to star in a film opposite Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney: Reports

<p>Sydney Sweeney has revealed a troubling experience with paparazzi who showed up at her family’s home and tried to strike a deal with her relatives for bikini photos of the actress.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a recent interview with Glamour for its Women of the Year series, Sweeney shared how invasive the paparazzi can be, especially when it involves her private life.</p>

<p>A witness who saw a University of Virginia student start fire on a bus returning from a field trip described to authorities how the shooter targeted specific victims, many of whom were football players, shooting one of them while he slept.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The information came to light at the suspect's initial court appearance, which took place on the same day the university made the decision to postpone its Saturday football game due to the fatal shooting.&nbsp;</p>

A witness who saw a University of Virginia student start fire on a bus returning from a field trip described to authorities how the shooter targeted specific victims, many of whom were football players, shooting one of them while he slept. The information came to light at the suspect's initial court appearance, which took place on the same day the university made the decision to postpone its Saturday football game due to the fatal shooting. After being shown a photograph of the shooting defendant, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a witness recognised him as the shooter, according to the prosecution. Three football players died on Sunday night, and one player and another student were injured. Jones, a former football player, participated in the court proceeding on Wednesday by way of a video link from a nearby jail. He claimed he would seek a lawyer and choose not to enter a plea to the many accusations he is facing. In order to represent him while he seeks private legal representation, a judge assigned a public defender and ordered that he be held without bond. Ballet community unhappy with 'Euphoria' star Sydney Sweeney's dance-inspired post

<p>'Euphoria' star Sydney Sweeney recently shared in an interview that some social media users are constantly tagging her family members in her nude photos and videos from the Emmy-winning HBO drama series, which first premiered in 2019.</p>

<p>According to the actress, screenshots from the first season of the show, in which Cassie (Sydney) is subjected to a nude photo leak, are being circulated online and many are tagging the actress' relatives in the viral posts, which is quite humiliating.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“It got to the point where they were tagging my family,” Sweeney told GQ UK. “My cousins don’t need that. It’s completely disgusting and unfair. You have a character that goes through the scrutiny of being a sexualized person at school and then an audience that does the same thing.”</p>

<p>When asked if the scenario bothers her, she added, “I think it’s ridiculous. I’m an artist, I play characters. It makes me want to play characters that piss people off more.”</p>

<p>Last year too, the actress spoke about the nudity being shared on social media from the series 'Euphoria'. Speaking to Guardian, she said, "To be honest, after ‘Euphoria,’ I had to stop caring or thinking about [screengrabs] because the tiny little pictures that were on one of the character’s phones blew up everywhere."</p>

<p>She further added, "I am very different from my characters, and so when I see those kind of pictures or I get tagged in those kind of pictures — which I think is crazy that they can have nudity on social media that is me and I don’t approve it, but that’s another story — I just separate myself from it. It’s like ‘Oh, that’s Cassie. Cassie’s having a good day.'"</p>

<p>The actress will return for a third season of ‘Euphoria’ next year. She also has Sony’s ‘Spider-Man’ universe movie ‘Madame Web’ and a ‘Barbarella’ reboot in her kitty.</p>
