<p>"As soon as police approached the address, the group of suspects began shooting, and police retaliated," said the South African Police Service (SAPS) in a statement. "Sixteen males and two females were declared dead at the scene,” it added.</p>

<p>Speaking to reporters in Makhado, Limpopo province which is 400 kilometres (250 miles) northeast of Johannesburg, SAPS National Commissioner General Fannie Masemola said that a police officer was "injured very seriously" and admitted for medical care. The shootout continued for around 90 minutes, stated Masemola.</p>

<p>As per the police, who were tracking the movements of the suspected robbers for a few days, the investigation started in January with the aid of the intelligence unit of the country.</p>

<p>"Our intention was to arrest them before they go out and commit another crime," Masemola stated.</p>

<p>It is still being investigated what led&nbsp;to the shooting. The police recovered five guns from the scene.</p>

Shooting in Seattle kills 3, wounds 6, no arrests yet

<p>The gunman who allegedly shot dead five men and injured two children in a shooting in Philadelphia has now been identified as Kimbrady Carriker (40). Media reports suggest that he is a Black Lives Matter (BLM) supporter. Carriker was arrested after the shootout in Philadelphia's Kingsessig neighbourhood on June 4.</p>

<p>His identity is yet to be publicly disclosed by the police. Action News has mentioned his name citing sources. It has been reported that Kimbrady lives in the 5600 block of Belmar Terrace. His home is reportedly just a few blocks away from the scene of the shooting. Kimbrady is yet to be charged, but District Attorney Larry Krasner said in a press conference that Kuimbrady will expectedly be charged with multiple counts of murder.</p>

<p>The police have previously said that at least 50 shots were fired at the scene and several vehicles were hit by bullets.</p>

<p>At the time of the tragedy, Kimbrady was wearing a bulletproof vest. He had multiple magazines. He was also in possession of a (police) scanner, an AR-style rifle and a handgun. Police chased him in the rear alley of 1600 Frazier Street and nabbed him.</p>

<p>The names of the five men he shot dead are: Daujan Brown, Lashyd Merritt, Dymir Stanton, Joseph Wamah, Jr., and Ralph Moralis.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In addition to this, two children, aged two and 13 were shot and wounded. Flying glass injured another child aged two and a 33-year-old woman.</p>

<p>Kimbrady is reportedly a cross-dresser. His Facebook account has a picture of him wearing a bra, a woman's top and earrings. The timestamp shows that the photos were uploaded in March. It has been found that he often publishes posts about supporting Black Lives Matter, as reported by New York Post.</p>

<p>On his Facebook profile, Kimbrady claims that he is a computer engineer. He has, in the past, posted pictures and memes of people with weapons and firearms.</p>

<p>Police detained a suspect after a shootout took place at a Mercedes-Benz plant located in southwestern Germany on Thursday in which two people died.</p>

<p>The latest shooting incident increased pressure on Germany's government to further tighten its gun laws. The police have identified the suspect as a 53-year-old man.</p>

<p>Mercedes-Benz stated that two people have been killed in the unfortunate incident. The Stuttgart prosecutor also confirmed the death of the second person and added that no one else suffered injuries.</p>

<p>"One person is in police custody. The persons are employees of an external service provider," said Mercedes in a statement.</p>

Two killed, suspect detained in German Mercedes plant shootout

<p>A man in the US, who faced an alleged scam of $40 in parking fees by a fake parking attendant while he came for a date, fatally shot the scammer before he returned for dinner nonchalantly in Houston, Texas.</p>

<p>As per a press release, the accused man has been identified by the government as 29-year-old Erick Aguirre. On Thursday, he appeared before the court to face murder charges over the death of 46-year-old Elliot Nix.</p>

<p>As per a report in CNN, Aguirre continued with his planned dinner date as he told his partner "everything is fine", after he allegedly shot dead Nix in the car parking near Rodeo Goat restaurant in Houston.</p>

<p>They were told by the fraud parking attendant that the parking would cost $20 each. Aguirre then paid the man $40. However, he was later informed by the restaurant staff that Nix did not work for them and was not responsible for the parking lot.</p>

<p>A witness who saw the initial interaction of Nix with the 29-year-old told the police officials said that he saw the accused getting inside his car, grabbing a gun and running after the victim who was out of his view.</p>

<p>The witness added that he heard the gunshot and then "observed the suspect nonchalantly walking back to his car with the gun in his hand".</p>

<p>According to the report, someone found Nix, who was bleeding, lying in the street and dialled the emergency number. The police stated that Aguirre was shot in the torso of Nix, and later he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.</p>

<p>On the other hand, Aguirre later left the scene, kept the gun back in his car and walked back to the place where his date was waiting for him.</p>

<p>Before sitting inside the restaurant, "Erick started to look uncomfortable and suggested they go eat somewhere else," she further said.</p>

<p>Currently, Aguirre is being held on a $200,000 bond. The accused has not entered a plea and continues to remain behind bars from Friday night.</p>

Missouri: Shooter kills two before being shot dead by police

<p>A shooting Thursday in North Carolina's capital Raleigh left at least five people dead, including an off-duty police officer, officials in the southeast US city said. They further said that the suspect has&nbsp;been captured. Raleigh Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin said the shooting occurred near the Neuse River Greenway, a popular trail in the area.</p>

<p>"Multiple officers responded to the scene and encountered the armed suspects who fired at police. Two suspects were shot by police and died at the scene," the statement said, adding that no bank employees or members of the public were physically injured.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It's hard because we have members in the hospital right now suffering from serious injuries," Duthie said.</p>

<p>Three of the six police officers were undergoing a surgery as of late Tuesday. Other three police officers may be released from the hospital.</p>

<p>Earlier in the day, an evacuation order was issued for the buildings surrounding the bank because of a suspected explosive device found in the suspects' vehicle.</p>

<p>The day's events will "shake a lot of people," said Duthie, adding that federal police had been called to assist.</p>

Canada: Two suspects who tried to rob bank killed during shootout

<p>Arredondo defended his actions saying that his primary concern was to save the lives of as many teachers and students as possible. But he said officers on scene could not find a key to unlock the door to the classroom until 77 minutes after the massacre began.</p>

<p>However, the public safety chief, Steven McCraw, told a Texas Senate hearing on Tuesday that the door was not locked and there was no evidence officers tried to see if it was secured while others searched for a key.</p>

<p>Arredondo, who was elected to the Uvalde City Council shortly before the shooting, is also in danger of losing his council seat. He has requested a leave of absence and missed Tuesday night's city council meeting, when the rest of the city council on Tuesday denied him a leave of absence.</p>

<p>If he misses three straight meetings, the council can remove him.</p>

<p>Drug cartels are a major issue in Mexico. Members of these cartels are often well-armed smugglers. These cartels even have political and financial influence. Police in Mexico face huge challenges while trying to control the drugs trade.</p>

<p>In the encounter that took place on Mexico, it is being reported that members of Familia Michoacana cartel were involved. In addition to the monkey, 11 gang members were dead, several sustained injuries. Seven were arrested.</p>

Miah was in her classroom when the gunman burst in and opened fire. In order to trick him into believing that she was dead, Miah smeared some blood on herself, taken from a dead classmate next to her.</p>

<p>Miah's account of what happened left some lawmakers in tears or wide-eyed in disbelief.</p>

<p>"He... told my teacher 'good night' and then shot her in the head. And then he shot some of my classmates and the whiteboard," Miah said in a brief but gut-wrenching pre-recorded interview.</p>

<p>"When I went to the backpacks, he shot my friend who was next to me and I thought he was going to come back into the room so I grabbed a little blood and put it all over me."</p>

<p>Miah recalled how she kept completely silent, before grabbing her dead teacher's cell phone when the moment came and dialing 911.</p>

<p>"I told her that we need help -- and (we need) to see the police in our classroom," she said.</p>

<p>Miah said her class was watching a movie. When the gunman entered the classroom, the kids scrambled behind the teacher's desk.</p>

<p>Miah was asked what she wanted to see happen in the wake of the attack.</p>

<p>"To have security," she said, confirming that she feared a mass shooter could target her school again.</p>

<p>"I don't want it to happen again," she said.</p>

<p>Police in Uvalde have come under intense scrutiny after it emerged that more than a dozen officers waited outside the door of Miah's class and did nothing as the children lay dead or dying.</p>
