<p>Police had initially responded to Kennedy Middle School after receiving a report of a man "acting erratically" in the school parking lot.</p>

<p>The man later managed to climb onto the roof of the school and was pursued by two officers on foot.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Officers, as per the report, returned fire after the suspect opened fire. In this crossfire, the suspect was shot and killed.</p>

<p>The incident triggered a large law enforcement response, and the school was put in lockdown by the Germantown School District.</p>

<p>In a statement released on Facebook, the Germantown School district informed parents that all the children were being transported by bus to nearby MacArthur Elementary. It advised parents to carry identification for pickup.</p>

US: 14-year-old killed in deadly Virginia shooting, 4 injured

<p>New details have emerged in the alleged racist Florida shooting that claimed the lives of three Black people in Jacksonville while the white gunman, the 21-year-old Ryan Christopher Palmeter, who carried out the attack shot himself to death. A. Zachary Faison Jr, the president of Edward Waters University, Florida's first historically Black university, disclosed that a campus police officer intervened in chasing off the white man from the university just moments before the shooter launched his attack on a Dollar General store in Jacksonville, media reports said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per Reuters news agency, the incident began with Palmeter parking his car on the university campus in Jacksonville.</p>

<p>He was observed by students as he donned gloves and a military-style vest. Sensing something amiss, the students promptly alerted a campus officer. The police officer confronted Palmeter upon which he quickly left the scene in his vehicle. The officer continued to pursue him as Palmeter made his way to the Jacksonville store.</p>

<p>In the latest mass-shooting incident to rock South Africa, on Friday, at least four gunmen forcefully entered a house in a township situated near the eastern city of Durban and claimed the lives of four people. Two were killed inside the main building, one in a backroom and another near an outside toilet, said the police.</p>

<p>Two more people were shot dead inside a shack a few metres away and a third was wounded.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Saturday, the police released a statement saying that they have launched a "massive manhunt" for the assailants who shot six people dead over a missing identity card. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to police spokesman Robert Netshiunda, preliminary investigations showed the suspected ringleader demanded his identity document from the victims before shooting them.</p>

<p>"It is believed that he was implicated and is wanted by police for another murder in which he allegedly dropped his identity document accidentally," Netshiunda said.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, India has the largest contingent with a total of 90 shooters, followed by the host country Korea (66) and USA (43). Over 550 shooters from 44 countries are competing at the ISSF Junior World Championships 2023.</p>

China, however, claimed the top spot with as many gold and bronze medals but with an extra silver in their kitty. ALSO READ: Avinash Sable becomes first Indian track athlete to qualify for 2024 Paris Olympics - WATCH Earlier, India also bagged a bronze in the second shooting event of the day - the 10m air pistol mixed team event, with Abhinav Choudhury and Sainyam - who reigned supreme in the air pistol women’s individual competition on Sunday, beating the Korean pair of Kim Juri and Kim Kanghyun (17-11), in the bronze-medal match. Meanwhile, upbeat youngsters, Abhinav and Gautami had earlier shot 627.4 in the qualification and stood second amongst 35 teams to qualify for the gold medal match-up. 'The Indian pair take top spot' While the French duo of Oceanne and Romain had topped the qualification with 632.4, the Indian pair of Abhinav Shaw and Gautami Bhanot weathered the storm in the all-important clash. Despite trailing behind 0-4 in the beginning, the Indian team showed grit and teamwork to take the lead and win the gold medal clash by a 17-13 scoreline. Meanwhile, India has the largest contingent with a total of 90 shooters, followed by the host country Korea (66) and USA (43).
