<p>Salman Khan&#39;s birthdays are always a grand affair. The actor turned 52 on December 27th and needless to say had a grand birthday celebration with family and friends in attendance.&nbsp;</p>

<p>From Mahendra Singh Dhoni to Katrina Kaif- Khan rang his birthday in style at his Panvel farmhouse in the presence of his near and dear ones. And while the party continued till the wee hours of the morning, the Khan family continued the celebrations next day as well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Khan and members of his family were seen enjoying a ride on&nbsp;an off-road vehicle, Polaris RZR,&nbsp; around his farmhouse.&nbsp;</p>

Tiger Zinda Hai earns Rs 114.9 crores within three days of its release; smashes records

<p>Superstar Salman Khan will be working on his birthday this year, as the actor has started filming the next schedule of his upcoming action-thriller <em>Race 3</em>.<br />

The 51-year-old actor on Sunday commenced the shooting for a six-day-long schedule here.<br />

&quot;Salman will be shooting for a six-day-long schedule for the film over the Christmas week. A pivotal action sequence is being shot in Mumbai, where Salman will be performing stylised action,&quot; the film&#39;s spokesperson said in a statement.<br />

He battles a pack of wolves, comes out unscathed from bomb blasts, fights 100 odd ISIS soldiers alone and survives air strikes. And this - when he has been &#39;resting&#39;&nbsp;for the past 8 years. I shudder to think what would Tiger be if he was still an active spy!<br />

<p>What is the story, you ask? A group of Indian and Pakistani nurses is held hostage inside a hospital by an extremist group in Iraq. The head of the group is injured and is being treated inside the hospital by the captive nurses. As America plans an air strike over the entire hospital and kill the dreaded terrorist and his army in one go- Indian Intelligence has to rescue the nurses out of the hospital before the strike. They have limited time and the risk of entering the area is high so they contact Tiger(Salman Khan), a special agent with RAW, who has now retired and disappeared into oblivion. Tiger is summoned from Austria- where he now lives with his wife Zoya (Katrina Kaif), a former Pakistani spy, and their son. Not much is known as to what the couple does for a living apart from sending each other on snow capped mountains and empty streets. Oh yes, Tiger goes on<em> shikar</em> often with their little son and practice arm wrestling by fighting a pack of wolves. &nbsp;He also fixes old tattered radios so that he can hear a few <em>desi </em>songs in far away land while his wife, much in love, nags him for not doing household chores.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Anyway, when duty calls- Tiger is almost immediately convinced to take up the assignment and takes his favourite men on board- a sniper, a bomb defusing expert and a hacker. The time is ticking and Tiger has to evacuate the nurses before America goes out all guns blazing. In the middle of the mission, his wife Zoya joins him with two ISI agents and RAW and ISI (yep, that&#39;s exactly what is shown) together fight for world peace.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Written by Ali Abbas Zafar and Neelesh Mishra, the film rides on the current wave of nationalism that has engulfed our country. But at the same time does not spew venom at the neighbour- instead talks about <em>aman</em><em> </em>and <em>shanti</em><em> </em>for both the countries. There are dialogues that have been written to cater to the audience and their sentiments. It&#39;s like the writers knew that this particular dialogue would get loud cheers and whistles inside the theater. And who better to deliver such odiously dramatic lines than Salman himself.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With a dead-pan expression that lasts more or less throughout the film, Salman plays his role with much ease. It&#39;s a film that promotes his many talents, one that involves flexing muscles- and the writers make&nbsp;him the center of everything literally and choreograph mind-numbing, illogical scenes that only the superstar can pull off.&nbsp;Katrina, on the other hand, takes a backseat and lets Salman hog all the attention. She is there, occasionally kicking a few butts here and there- but the story is so Salman centric that Katrina&#39;s absence near the climax is not noticed.</p>

Both known for their talent, fade in this thriller that is concentrating solely on promoting Salman&#39;s talents. There is also Angad Bedi, Anant Sharma, new actor Paresh Pahuja, and a screeching Paresh Rawal - who have only a few scenes where they show their acting prowess. Among the supporting cast, it is&nbsp;Sajjad Delfrooz as the dreaded terrorist and Pahuja who show a spark. I&#39;d look out for these two actors in other films.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Above all, the film is unintentionally funny. It has scenes where wolves and Salman fly in mid-air fighting, it has scenes where Salman&#39;s hairdo does not mess even as his car topples, it has scenes where all men die inside a gas chamber&nbsp;but a shirtless Salman comes out unscathed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It&#39;s not a bad film, though. It just oversimplifies a lot of things. What is admirable is the fact the scale at which its mounted is huge and the director ensures that the thrills are in plenty. The action scenes are slick and well-designed.&nbsp;</p>

'Tiger Zinda Hai' review: Salman Khan defies logic and death in this superhero film masquerading as a spy-thriller

<p>A little over a year after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena issued diktats to the film industry to not sign in Pakistani artists in their films and almost stopped the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the party is back in news because of a film&#39;s release.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif&#39;s film Tiger Zinda Hai is scheduled to release in theaters on Friday. Directed by Abbas Ali Zafar, the film has been produced by Yash Raj Films which reportedly has asked cinema halls across Maharashtra to screen their film in all the shows in the day.&nbsp;<br />

Now, Marathi films Deva and Ek Atrangi are also scheduled to release on the same day and this arm-twisting by YRF has obviously affected the two regional films.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Actor Ankush Chaudhari, who stars in Deva, sought the help of the MNS and on Wednesday, the party promptly threatened Yashraj Films.&nbsp;<br />

<p>The song titled <em>Swag Se Swagat</em> is out Tuesday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The newly released song&nbsp;<em>Swag Se Karenge Sabka Swagat</em> has 100 dancers including ballerinas, hip-hop and Afro-dance hall performers from countries like Greece, France, Trinidad and Tobago, among others. The song has been shot in Greece.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier, the film&#39;s team had released a picture of Salman and Katrina from the song. The photo had the two stars in colour-coordinated outfits. The director wrote: &ldquo;Get ready to groove #SwagSeKarengeSabkaSwagat. Coming soon. @TigerZindaHai,&rdquo;</p>

<p>Four years after it premiered at Cannes, Nawazuddin Siddiqui&#39;s <em>Monsoon Shootout</em> will finally be releasing in India in December this year. Incidentally, &nbsp;Salman Khan&#39;s <em>Tiger Zinda Hai</em> will also be releasing on the same day.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Interestingly Nawaz has worked twice with Salman before- in <em>Kick</em> and <em>Bajrangi Bhaijaan</em> and was even offered a role in <em>Tiger Zinda Hai</em> which he turned down due to date commitments towards<em> Manto.</em></p>

<p>According to sources close to the film, &quot;No other date is available before that. Besides, after December 22 there are no releases for 2 weeks and the makers want to cash in on that. &quot; Tuesday morning my heart rate dropped and I felt uneasy. I am a kidney patient and both my kidneys are not functioning properly,&quot; Kalpana told PTI.<br />

&quot;Monday was my partner&#39;s (Bhupen Hazarika) death anniversary so I went all the way to Vashi (Navi Mumbai) to attend the program. That must have taken a toll on me. So today when I woke up, I felt very weak. I was then taken to the ICU,&quot; she added.</p>

<p>The filmmaker said according to the doctors she would be discharged from the hospital in the next &quot;24 to 48 hours&quot;.<br />

&quot;I was completely bedridden two years ago. But now I am slightly better by the grace of God. I will give myself another year and a half to walk all on my own without any help,&quot; she said.<br />
Kalpana has been going for dialysis every week and is overwhelmed by the financial support she has received from the film industry.<br />

<p>Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Friday was presented with a Global Diversity Award by Britain&#39;s House of Commons.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He received the award from Keith Vaz,&nbsp;British Parliament&rsquo;s longest-serving Asian Member of Parliament.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a statement, Vaz said, &quot;The Global Diversity Award is given to people of immense stature in terms of what they have done for diversity in the world, and he is certainly one of them.&quot;</p>

<p>Vaz praised the star for being &quot;not just a megastar for Indian and world cinema, but also someone who has done so much for humanitarian causes&rdquo;.</p>

<p>After receiving the award, Salman was quoted saying:&nbsp;&quot;Thank you for the respect and honour you have given me. My father would have never thought&hellip; But the amount of respect you guys have given me, thank you so much for it.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Salman Khan&#39;s latest release seems to be in a whirlwind of news--this time for it&#39;s losses.</p>

<p>His last movie Tubelight was pegged to be a huge hit by all trade pundits but flopped majorly at the box-office, with distributors incurring huge losses. Soon after there were reports that Salman Khan will be paying off his distributors for the losses.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Trade analyst Komal Nahta confirmed on Twitter that the &#39;Bajrangi Bhaijaan&#39; star will refund approx Rs 35 crore today to distributors and exhibitors as compensation for losses suffered in &#39;Tubelight&#39;. But this is actually just half of the actual losses suffered by the distributors.&nbsp;</p>
