Salman has re-recorded the song with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Salman Khan hasn't made peace with Arijit Singh just yet. The actor had two years back replaced Singh's song in Sultan and made Rahat Fateh Ali Khan re-record Jag Ghumeya because Khan was miffed with Singh due to an incident that took place a few years back. Despite Singh publicly issuing an apology, the actor did not relent. Three years down the line not much has changed as Khan has made Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sing a song in Welcome to New York, which was reportedly sung by Singh before.

Salman and Arijit Singh had taken jibes at each other during an awards function back in 2013. While Salman had said Arijit's popular song from Aashiqui 2 made him sleepy, Singh had retorted back that Salman's hosting of the awards show made him sleepy. Two years later, in 2015, Singh had posted an apology letter on Facebook requesting Salman to forgive him and let his song remain in Sultan. However, he later deleted the post.

When the actor was asked to comment on the same, the superstar had said, "Who is that?"

"In every film, there are a lot of singers who sing and director and producer who make the choice of who is going to be the best voice for the film. One voice was mine but that was also rejected, so why get so upset and so hurt. This is life," Salman had said at the time.

Welcome to New York features Sonakshi Sinha, Diljit Dosanjh, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta, Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh in key roles. Salman has done a cameo role in the film.

Meanwhile, singer-turned-minister Babul Supriyo has strongly criticised the move and stated that Pakistani singers should not be encouraged to sing for Bollywood films.
