Once I get some good knocks under my belt I'll start feeling good and that will go up."</p>

<p>Rahul's logic behind his inning is debatable. With LSG three down for 23 after four overs, Marcus Stoinis joined KL, 8 off 9 at that time, on the crease. The duo went on to add 76 runs in the next 6.4 overs or 40 balls. Stoinis played 30 of them and went on to score precious 65 runs in the partnership and Rahul in that time reached to 18 off 19 balls - thus scoring 10 off 10.</p>

<p>While one may agree that there was no need to be aggressive with Stoinis on the charge, Rahul's 10 off 10 were clearly out of context regarding the game situation and it may have put undue pressure on Stoinis, resulting in him taking extra risk, eventually leading to a wicket for RCB.</p>

<p>Also, even as Stoinis departed, Pooran came and smoked his second ball to a six, showing how easy the Chinnaswamy wicket was. In the next over, Rahul got out on the first ball, trying to flick Siraj.&nbsp;Rahul definitely should have taken more risks because the situation was bot that bat while Stoinis was batting to take the advantage pressure he was putting on RCB bowlers.</p>

<p>Thanks to Pooran, Badoni and tail-enders, LSG won the match but KL Rahul surely needs to step up his game if he doesn't want to be a weak-link in the form of a captain in a line-up which could go all the way and win the trophy in its second season only.</p>

<p>Earlier, LSG won the toss and elected to field first. RCB were given a flying start as they Kohli was in fine touch and RCB reached 54 for no loss in powerplay. Kohli went on to score his fifty before being taken out by Amit Mishra on a personal score of 61 off 44.</p>

<p>In came Glenn Maxwell at number three and RCB didn't let gas off the pedal as the Australian also notched up 22 off 15 by the end of 16 overs. RCB, at that time, were cruising along at 146/1. For LSG, every bowler proved expensive with Avesh Khan going for 33 in three overs and Krunal Pandya getting smacked for 29 in his four.</p>

<p>Bangalore currently are at seventh position on the points table with one loss and one win in two games. LSG, on the other hand, are at third place, having won two of their three games.</p>

<p>Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been dealt another injury blow in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season 16 after star man Rajat Patidar’s heel injury. Patidar has been ruled out of the entire season of the IPL and will now serve time in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore where he will carry out his rehabilitation.</p>

<p>“Unfortunately, Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of #IPL2023 due to an Achilles Heel injury. We wish Rajat a speedy recovery and will continue to support him during the process. The coaches and management have decided not to name a replacement player for Rajat just yet,” read a statement on the RCB’s official Twitter handle.</p>

<p>The injury news comes at the wrong time for the RCB after having Josh Hazlewood and Will Jacks unavailable due to their time out on the treatment table. The RCB franchise is also struggling with the injury of Recce Topley, where he injured his shoulder against the Mumbai Indians. Although Topley has been involved with the squad Patidar has now been ruled out altogether.</p>

<p>The 29-year-old was RCB’s third-highest scorer in the 2022 season despite going unpicked at the start. Patidar came in as a replacement for injured Luvnith Sisodia and made an early impression with some top knocks. Patidar scored the fastest hundred in IPL history in the 2022 Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants where he dazzled for the franchise.</p>

<p>Ahead of his side's Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 opener against Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Sanjay Bangar said that Sri Lankan all-rounder will be available for the side only after April 9 due to his international cricket commitments.</p>

<p>RCB will take on MI in their IPL 2023 campaign opener on Sunday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. "Wanindu Hasaranga will be unavailable for us till the ninth of this month," said Bangar in the pre-match press conference.</p>

<p>Hasaranga was the leading wicket-taker for RCB last season and was the second-highest wicket-taker overall with 26 scalps in 16 matches at an average of 16.53 and an economy rate of 7.54. His best bowling figures in the last season were 5/18.</p>

<p>England pacer Reece Topley will be a like-for-like replacement for Australian quick Josh Hazlewood, who will be missing out on the first half of the league due to an achilles injury, said the coach.</p>

<p>"We sort of anticipated it (Hazlewood missing IPL games) and it was factored in the auction and pre-auction meetings. Reece Topley provides a like-to-like replacement for him. I am sure that his left-arm bowling will add to the strength of our bowling," said Bangar.</p>

<p>The coach also added that star Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who recently made his return to cricket in the ODI series against Australia after a leg injury sustained last year, has been cleared to play by Cricket Australia (CA) and will play on Sunday.</p>

<p>Bangar revealed that the franchise wanted to sign New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell during the auction last year, but had to sign Will Jacks, an England all-rounder due to the auction sequence. The all-rounder is now in the team as a replacement for an injured Jacks."</p>

<p>"Bracewell is a versatile player. He can bat at the top and lower down the order. We will be looking to make the best use of him," added Bangar.</p>

<p>On playing at the home ground of M Chinnaswammy Stadium after a gap of over three years, Bangar said, "Boys are excited. The build-up was very nice. We had this RCB Unbox event and also the Hall of Fame event that the team management did. The response to these events was nice and it gave goosebumps to the new boys who have not experienced the atmosphere at the Chinnaswammy Stadium. Hope fans will continue providing the energy like they do always."</p>

<p>Bangalore's Chinnaswamy stadium once again welcomed its favorite Royal Challengers after a three-year COVID-19 hiatus. With the Indian Premier League (IPL) back to home-and-away format for the upcoming season, the fans flocked to see their favorite superstars in a practise session.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Former India and RCB skipper Virat Kohli also got involved with the crowd to the fullest as he asked them to cheer louder while he shot a video of Bangalore legends AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle. RCB have made the announcement to induct both the players in team's Hall of Fame list as the first two inductees.</p>

<p>RCB's full squad took a lap of honour around the stadium after the practise session and Gayle showed his dance moves afterwards. Kohli, who shot the video, can be seen asking the crowd to cheer louder for the West Indian great. Have a look at the video here:</p>

<p>ABD, on the other hand, played in 157 matches for the team, scoring 4,522 runs - the second highest for RCB, behind Virat Kohli's 6,624 runs.</p>

<p>Bangalore, who have failed to win a single IPL trophy in 15 seasons of IPL, will try their luck once again to catch the elusive title with their quest beginning on April 2 against Mumbai Indians.</p>

<p>Top T20 batter in the world, Chris Gayle, has showered praises on his former IPL teammate Virat Kohli saying he loves his passion for the game but has also claimed that he is better than his Indian counterpart in dancing. Ahead of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League that starts in less than a week, Gayle revealed batting alongside Virat was fantastic and that Kohli needs to get credit for his performances over the years.</p>

<p>"Batting with Virat was just fantastic. I like the passion he has for the game. I like his passion and his work ethic, it's fantastic. You have to give him credit for that, and he wants to show it with his performances," Gayle said as quoted in TOI.</p>

<p>Gayle joined Virat at RCB in 2011, and till the time both played together, they accounted for ten plus century-stand partnerships – an IPL record in itself.</p>

<p>Speaking to JioCinema, official digital broadcaster of the IPL 2023, Gayle said he felt that only three players were in the focus at the time when he was with RCB.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Sometimes, being one of the main players, being the main man of the franchise, I am always in my own zone, pretty much. What I understand when it comes from an RCB point of view is that a lot of players felt left out. A lot of players did not feel like they were a part of the franchise," said Gayle.</p>

Virat Kohli, RCB and India's star player, who has been with the team since its inception in 2008, captained the team for most years but couldn't get the team over the line despite holding many individual records.</p>

<p>Chris Gayle, on the other hand, has played 140 matches in the IPL, scoring 4,965 runs at an average of 39.72 and astonishing strike rate of 148.96.</p>

<p>Gayle has also scored six hundreds in the league with the highest being 175 not out - a T20 record still - while playing for RCB against now-defunct franchise Pune Warriors India.</p>

<p>Chasing 189, Devine and Smriti Mandhana (37 off 31) made a good start as they stitched together an opening partnership of 125 runs with the former contributing a chunk of those. While Mandhana departed in the 10th over, it was Ellyse Perry who helped Devine take RCB home. There was no real contribution from the bowlers for Gujarat as they were left stranded and clueless in the must-win match.</p>

<p>Earlier, top knocks from opener Laura Wolvaardt and all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner helped Gujarat Giants reach a total of 188/4 in the 20 overs. Electing to bat first, Gujarat Giants did not have a very good start as they lost opener Sophia Dunkley for 16 off 10 balls after a Sophie Devine delivery crashed into her leg stump. GG was 27/1 in 2.4 overs. Following this, the pair of Laura Wolvaardt and Sabbhineni Meghana started to rebuild the innings.</p>

<p>The forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 edition is set to commence on March 31 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. The opening game will see the defending champions Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) take on MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Just like every other season, the upcoming IPL edition is also keenly awaited. It will be the 16th edition of the tournament, which kicked off in 2008. Several records have been broken in the tournament since it's inception. Many captains have led the existing and now-defunct teams whereas only a handful of them have tasted success by winning the IPL championship.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from only one top franchise, every other team -- including only those who have been a part of the tournament since 2008 or more than five seasons -- have had an overseas captain for a brief or significant period. However, CSK is the only team to not have had a foreign captain in their rich history.</p>

<p>Virat Kohli became the full-time Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain in IPL 2013. He served as the RCB skipper till IPL 2021. He had announced that he will step down as the captain at the halfway stage of&nbsp;IPL 2021, where RCB eventually bowed out in the Eliminator. Recently, the 34-year-old star player met with the Smriti Mandhana-led RCB camp to motivate them after their five-match winless run in Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 edition. During his pep talk, Kohli reflected on his RCB captaincy tenure and made a big claim.</p>

<p>Kohli was quoted as saying in RCB Bold Diaries, “When my captaincy tenure was coming to an end, I was left with no belief, to be very honest. I was gone. The tank was absolutely empty.
