Charlie Kirk, a well-known conservative commentator and close ally of US President Donald Trump, was tragically killed in a shooting at a Utah college event on Wednesday (September 10). Earlier this year, Kirk weighed in on the escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, warning the United States against direct involvement in the conflict. In a May podcast titled, “What the Heck is Going on in India!”, Kirk discussed the heightened hostilities following the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist camps within Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Kirk criticised Pakistan for harboring terrorists, calling it a “deceptive actor,” while pointing to the anger in India’s majority Hindu population following the attack. He referenced reports of air and missile strikes on multiple sites in Pakistan, resulting in casualties and aircraft losses on both sides. After Pakistan’s drone swarm incursions post-Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army plans advanced radars to boost air defence and plug border surveillance gaps

Months after India's Operation Sindoor destroyed Pakistan's Nur Khan air base in Chaklala, Rawalpindi, reports suggest that Islamabad is rebuilding it. While Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China, Pakistan Field Marshal General Asim Munir visited Chaklala, where reconstruction has begun. Reports shared several satellite images to show that rebuilding is underway on the heavily damaged site. Specialised military trucks that could integrate air and ground assets with communication systems were reportedly seen in the images. These specialised military trucks, walls and nearby structures were taken down by India; however, new images show similar construction on the site. The Nur Khan Base is operated by the No. 12 VIP Squadron of the Pakistan Air Force. Read More | The story of Indian strikes on Pakistan military's nerve center The Indian Defence Forces had disclosed after Operation Sindoor that the Nur Khan Airbase, located in Rawalpindi, was one of the key military installations targeted during their retaliatory strikes against Pakistan. These strikes were launched in response to a series of drone and missile attacks carried out by Pakistan on several Indian bordering states, after India hit terror infrastructure inside Pakistan. India had struck terror sites in Pakistan-based terror group The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 civilians. In its strike, India also conducted coordinated airstrikes on multiple other Pakistani military bases to weaken Pakistan’s operational capabilities and send a strong message of deterrence. India’s Operation Sindoor destroyed Pakistan’s Nur Khan Air Base in Chaklala in May this year. Now, satellite images reveal reconstruction efforts are underway. Pakistan Army chief General Asim Munir visited the site.

The launch of the operation by the armed forces was a reaction to the dastardly attack in Kashmir’s Baisaran meadows, which claimed 26 innocent lives. It was a regular day for tourists on April 22, who were enjoying their time with loved ones, which became an incident filled with bloodshed that numbed the nation. New Delhi: Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) led by Maulana Masood Azhar is using Pakistani digital wallets like EasyPaisa and SadaPay to raise PKR 3.91 billion (approximately $14 million) for constructing 313 new training centres, or markaz, across Pakistan, according to an Indian assessment. In what is seen as “digital hawala”, money is being transferred to digital wallets used by Masood Azhar’s family members. Several social media posts have been intercepted as well, urging the need to raise funds with the aim of building new training centres. Use of digital spaces to fund terrorism is not new. In fact, a July report of FATF, quoting the Indian finance ministry, said that online payment services are being used to fund terror attacks. Pakistan’s government, under its 2019 National Action Plan, claimed to have dismantled JeM’s financial networks and placed the bank accounts of Masood Azhar and his brothers, Rauf Asghar and Talha Al Saif under official watch. Cash transactions and fundraising were banned, leading to Pakistan’s exit from FATF’s grey list in 2022. The UNSC-listed terror group switched to digital wallets, which operate outside traditional banking systems and evade FATF’s SWIFT-based monitoring. On May 7, India launched “Operation Sindoor” and obliterated Markaz Subhanallah and four other JeM camps, killing 14, including Azhar’s brother-in-law and nephew. In the aftermath of the destruction in India’s precision strikes, JeM launched a fundraising campaign via social media, with posters and an audio from Talha Al Saif urging supporters to donate PKR 21,000 each to build the 313 training centres. Supporters in Pakistan and abroad are urged to send their share of the donation totalling PKR 3.91 billion (PKR 391 crore). Large training centres like Subhanallah require PKR 100 million, while smaller ones may come up in PKR 5 million. Alongside social media appeals, JEM circulated an audio recording of Masood Azhar’s brother, Talha, delivered at a gathering at Markaz Usman O Ali on 15th August via propaganda channels urging supporters to contribute the funds. In fact, Masood Azhar’s family has been living in this Markaz Usman O Ali, which is just 6 km away from Markaz Subhanallah. Funds flow into over 2,000 digital wallets, including one linked to SadaPay account linked to Talha’s mobile number and another operated by Azhar’s son, Abdullah (EasyPaisa). In KPK JeM’s Syed Safdar Shah is collecting donations via an EasyPaise Wallet linked to a specific number, registered near Melwarah post office, Oghi, Mansehra district. These wallets, rotated every few months are used to launder money funding weapons, propaganda, and luxury for Azhar’s family. The aim to create a number of such training centres is to decentralised training camps, and establish secure safe houses for central leadership. The plan is to develop large training centres as safe houses, medium ones as training camps, and the remaining to handle logistics. National TV spotlight: KBC brings forward emotional account of Operation Sindoor

As part of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army has established a robust three-tier counter-infiltration grid along sensitive border areas to block militant entry.

Amid reports that the United States is favouring Pakistan and not India, it was asked if Pakistan Air Force lost F-16 jets during Operation Sindoor. However, the Trump administration refused to answer the specific question despite its continued claim that it was instrumental in stopping the India-Pakistan war. India has categorically denied all claims about US mediation in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan in May this year. However, Pakistan nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, crediting him for stopping the war with India. When asked about F-16 losses, the US State Department said, "We refer you to the Government of Pakistan to discuss its F-16s," NDTV reported. The US State Department was also asked about Pakistan Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir's nuke threat from US soil. In an email response to News 18, it said, “We are aware of these reports and would refer you to the Government of Pakistan regarding Chief of Army Staff Munir’s alleged remarks." Earlier, India condemned Munir's remark and said that ‘it was regrettable’ that such a statement was made from the soil of a ‘friendly country.’
‘Five Pakistani fighter jets shot down’
The statement comes days after Indian Air Chief Marshal AP Singh said that the IAF took down “at least” five Pakistani fighter jets and “one large aircraft” during Operation Sindoor in May. This was the first time that a senior officer from the Indian side had specified the number of Pakistani aircraft and jets downed. In May, India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan had admitted to losing an unspecified number of aircraft in the operation. Earlier that month, Director General Air Operations of the IAF, Air Marshal A K Bharti, had said losses were part of any combat. The Indian military had achieved all its selected objectives and all IAF pilots were back home, he had said. https://www.wionews.com/videos/operation-sindoor-pm-modi-success-of-operation-sindoor-is-due-to-make-in-india-1754894671981/embed
India and Pakistan relations after Pahalgam terror attack
Relations between India and Pakistan went downhill after 22 people were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir in April this year. India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure inside Pakistan and killing as many as 100 terrorists. Tensions rose after India's action, with Pakistan resorting to drone attacks on civilians and military positions of India's bordering states. India retaliated by targeting the military posts of Pakistan. Both countries agreed to a ceasefire at the DGMO level after the Pakistani DGMO contacted the Indian side following three to four days of heavy fighting. On the diplomatic front, India put in abeyance the Indus Waters Treaty, suspended Pakistani visas and closed trade through border posts. Recently, Pakistan stopped newspapers to Indian diplomats and the Indian High Commission based in Islamabad. In a tit for tat move, India had also cut newspaper supplies to Pakistani diplomats and the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi.

Amid claims of US bias toward Pakistan, the US refused to confirm F-16 losses during Op Sindoor. The US also declined to comment on Asim Munir’s nuclear threat made from US soil. This comes after India confirmed that at least five Pakistani fighter jets were shot during Op Sindoor

Congress leaders are questioning the timing of Air Chief Marshal AP Singh’s revelations about Pakistan’s losses during Operation Sindoor and alleging that these are being done to divert public attention from the “vote theft” controversy. Congress leader Udit Raj on Sunday asked why were the revelations being made now. “This is good news, but why say it now, when the issue of vote theft is in the spotlight?” Raj said while speaking to news agency ANI.

Congress MP from Saharanpur, Imran Masood, went further ahead and alleged that it was an attempt aimed at “shifting the narrative” and diverting attention from allegations against the Election Commission. He further said that if Pakistan had been hit hard then why did the government not take back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.“When Pakistan was weakened, the BJP should have fulfilled its promise to take PoK (Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir). Why wasn’t PoK taken?” said Masood and alleged that the announcement might be aimed at “shifting the narrative” and “diverting attention” from allegations against the Election Commission.

#WATCH | Saharanpur, UP: On the statement of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, on Operation Sindoor, Congress MP Imran Masood says, "... “I don’t understand the timing. Is this meant to hide those allegations?” he asked. On Saturday, Udit Raj had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “betraying the country” by halting the operation without reclaiming PoK. “The Congress always salutes the valour of the armed forces, but why did this revelation come only after Rahul Gandhi exposed vote theft? By not taking PoK when Pakistan was weakened, Modi ji betrayed the nation,” he wrote on X. “Trump said 33 times that he has done a ceasefire, but this country’s PM didn't say it even once. So, all this is about elections and vote theft, which Rahul Gandhi has captured,” Udit Raj added. The Congress allegations came after Air Chief Marshal Singh’s revelation that the IAF downed at least five Pakistani fighter jets and one large aircraft during Operation Sindoor.“We have at least five fighters confirmed kills and one large aircraft, which could be either an ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) aircraft or an AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control) aircraft, which was taken on at a distance of about 300 kilometres. Congress MP Imran Masood alleged that the revelations were aimed at “shifting the narrative” and diverting attention from allegations against the Election Commission. He further said that if Pakistan had been hit hard, then why did the government not take back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Advanced early warning and control aircraft were also used for advanced surveillance. This is broadly what I can say without getting into too much," the DRDO Chairman said. ACM AP Singh today said that Indian forces shot down at least five Pakistani fighter jets and one Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS). "We have at least five fighters' confirmed kills and one large aircraft, which could be either an ELINT aircraft or an AEW &C aircraft, which was taken on at a distance of about 300 kilometres. This is the largest ever recorded surface-to-air kill that we can talk about," he said. India dismantled nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The action led to a four-day conflict in which Indian forces attacked strategic Pakistani air bases.
