Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt. Gen. Rajiv Ghai said on Tuesday (October 14, 2025) that India’s targeted operations along the Line of Control (LoC) after the Pahalgam terror attack resulted in the deaths of more than 100 Pakistani soldiers. He described the response as swift, precise and strategic, a demonstration of the evolving doctrine of India that integrates precision strike with diplomatic and economic leverage. Addressing the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries (UNTCC) conclave at Manekshaw Centre in Delhi, Lt. Gen. Ghai stated that India's retaliation to the terror strike was “targeted, controlled, and non-escalatory”, according to a report by The Hindu. He added that Pakistan’s own disclosures confirmed the scale of its losses. “Their awards list, released on August 14, shows a large number of posthumous gallantry medals. That tells us their casualties on the LoC were in excess of 100,” he noted. “We hit nine targets across the breadth of Pakistan. This was a fusion of military precision and diplomatic agility, informational superiority and economic leverage,” he said. Ghai added that India had placed the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 into abeyance soon after the attack as part of a broader coercive strategy. The DGMO also disclosed that strikes by India were executed with complete awareness of potential Pakistani retaliation.

Lt. Gen. says perpetrators tracked down and eliminated within 96 days
“It’s naive to think the Indian Army would go into this kind of action without preparing for contingencies. We had wargamed four to five steps ahead,” he said. Ghai explained that Indian forces responded by hitting secondary targets on the LoC after anticipating the cross-border firing by Pakistan. He said the operations compelled Pakistan to seek a cessation of hostilities in less than four days — a testament to the effectiveness and decisiveness of India’s retaliatory actions. “It took 88 hours for the enemy to come and ask for a halt. We achieved our political and military aims,” he stated. Emphasising the Indian Navy's preparedness, Lt. Gen. Ghai added that naval forces were “well poised in the Arabian Sea” throughout the operations, ready to widen the scope of engagement if necessary. “Had the enemy decided to take it any further, it could have been catastrophic for them — not only from the sea but from other dimensions,” he stated. Describing the end of the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack as “clinical", he confirmed that they were tracked down and eliminated within 96 days. “They were exhausted from running and appeared malnourished when found. Justice was served,” he said, and added that the Home Minister had already informed Parliament of their elimination.

In a dangerous new development, Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has formed its first women’s wing—‘Jamaat-ul-Mominaat’—led by Sadiya Azhar, sister of JeM chief Masood Azhar. Recruitment targets include vulnerable women and commanders' wives. Experts warn this could mark a shift toward female suicide attackers, following the setbacks JeM faced after India's Operation Sindoor. India remains on high alert.

There is a renewed, though possibly unsustainable, sense of belligerence in the Pakistani establishment against India, as it's possibly emboldened by recent perceived closeness to the US President Donald Trump's administration. Its defence minister has just said the possibility of war with India is 'real' , and both politicians and military officials of Pakistan have been exuding a strange level of confidence, despite the destruction Pakistan faced during Operation Sindoor, India's military response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Both the political elite and military establishment have turned up a notch their hostile rhetoric toward India, almost always hinting at renewed conflict. The tone, increasingly bellicose and defiant, suggests Islamabad is gambling on external backing—particularly from Trump-era US alignments—to bolster its posture.
'Risks are real': The rhetoric of provocation from Pakistan
The latest in this is the Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif's blunt remarks that “the possibility of war with India is real and cannot be dismissed.” In comments reported on Wednesday (Sep 8), he said Pakistan is ready and would “do better than before”, if a conflict erupts with India. This comes close on the heels of his words that India would be “buried under the wreckage of its warplanes”. Those comments came after Indian Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi warned that Pakistan would be “erased from the world map” if it continued to support terrorism.
Pakistan's threat to strike Indian infrastructure
Asif was specific in his remarks, hinting that in the event of war, Pakistan would strike Indian infrastructure built on the Indus River. This was interpreted as Pakistan possibly considering Indian actions on hydrological projects or dams as acts of aggression. “If they attempt to build any kind of structure, we will strike it,” he said, equating water control to an existential conflict for Pakistan. For context, India has put the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance since the Pahalgam attack.
Is Pakistan reinforcing military presence?
Asif has repeatedly warned of an “imminent Indian incursion”. He said earlier that Pakistan has reinforced its forces and strategic decisions had been made accordingly. This was interpreted as troop and logistics movements near the border, but Asif partially backtracked, saying his words had been misinterpreted, even though he still insisted that tensions remained high. Also read: Pakistan to get advanced US air-to-air missiles by 2030? Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi issued a fierce warning to Pakistan on Friday and said the neighbour must stop state-sponsored terrorism or its very existence will be in danger. In the dire warning, General Dwivedi said, if provoked again, India will show no restraint as it did during Operation Sindoor 1.0. “If Pakistan wants to retain its place in world history and geography, it must stop state-sponsored terrorism. We will not show any restraint this time as we did during Operation Sindoor 1.0 and will go a step ahead if provoked again,” the Army chief said at an event in Rajasthan. “It is possible that we will hit it so hard that Pakistan will be compelled to rethink if it wants to retain its place in history and geography or not,” he added. General Dwivedi further asked the Indian troops to stay prepared, saying they may get another opportunity to unleash their firepower soon. “Please be fully prepared. He also hailed India's success in achieving the longest successful missile strike of over 300 kilometres that crippled Pakistan's actions. "Our long-range SAMs that we had procured recently and operationalised...We could look deep inside their territory. We could make sure that they were not able to operate even within their territory up to a certain distance. And it seriously curtailed their activities," Singh said. He then said that Pakistan was moved to a point by India to agree to a ceasefire and “ask for termination of hostilities”. India too achieved its objective of destroying terror camps in Pakistan and thus agreed to ending the conflict, “which is something that the world needs to learn from us”, said Singh.

Speaking on the occasion of 93rd Air Force Day celebrations, Singh said that India destroyed multiple Pakistani weapons and defence systems during the Operation Sindoor strikes. Hailing India's remarkable efficiency during the four-day conflict with Pakistan, the Air force Chief further said, "We struck a large number of installations ... and what we have gathered from whatever reports we got, that on ground we destroyed radars at four places, command and control centres at two places ... runway was damaged at two places ... three of their hangars were damaged". “We have signs of one C-130 class of aircraft...and at least 4 to 5 fighter aircraft, most likely F-16, because that place happened to be F-16 with whatever was under maintenance at that time,” he added. During his address, the Air Chief Marshal also spoke about India's air defence system and it's capabilities in precision strikes. It will go down in history that longest kill that we achieved of more than 300 kilometres by that.

Russian Embassy's deputy chief of mission Roman Babushkin, talking about India-Russia defence cooperation, has said that Brahmos missiles have an "absolutely unlimited potential for upgradation". BrahMos, a supersonic cruise missile, is a product of an India-Russia joint venture, combining Indian DRDO and Russian NPOM expertise. BrahMos was conceived in the mid-1990s amid India's push for advanced cruise missile capabilities. The top Russian diplomat said that this upgrade in "terms of its tactical parameters" & "certainly one of the best examples of advanced and trusted defence cooperation between any 2 countries that can happen". Brahmos was used by India to thwart Pakistan's attack, after Rawalpindi launched an attack on India, post the counter-terror operation, Operation Sindoor. It has been exported as well, to the Philippines, with a $375M deal with more countries keen to buy.Asked about more future defence cooperation, Babushkin said, "We have a very advanced dialogue with India on all types of defence cooperation which is available right now...sharing right now with India, based on our modern war experience". He added, "We really, as the only country in the world, can offer to India sophisticated weapons like 5th generation fighter jets, common joint production of its components and licensed production".Both India, Russia are currently working on the upcoming visit of Russian President Putin to India in the month of December. Describing the upcoming visit as a landmark, the Russian diplomat pointed out that this year, both countries are celebrating 15 years of Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. He was hopeful about labour market mobility between the 2 countries, as in "Russia, we need a labour force, people to work in Russian industry, India has an excessive labour force" and this makes a "perfect sense of mutual complementarians, which can play very well".On the presence of Indians in the Russian army, he said, "This is a problem of great mutual concern. From the very beginning, we kept saying the Russian army doesn't need Indians to fight. We have never recruited intentionally." As per the latest Indian data, 27 Indian nationals are presently serving in the Russian army, and the Indian government has strongly urged all Indian nationals to stay away from the offers being made to serve in the Russian army, as they are fraught with danger and risk to life. DCM Babushkin pointed to a mechanism of coordination by the Indian embassy in Moscow and the Russian defence ministry to resolve such matters.

LeT Shifts Training Infra & Ops to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amid Threat of Indian Strikes

Lashkar-e-Taiba has begun reconstruction of its HQ, demolished by the IAF, with government funding, aiming to complete it by February 2026.

LeT Shifts Training Infra & Ops to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amid Threat of Indian Strikes

A new Intel assessment has pointed, that UN-designated terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has moved its operational and training infrastructure to Pakistan's north west province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), fearing Indian strikes. The development comes even as other terror organisations like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) are already moving camps to the restive Pakistani province. According to an intel dossier, Lashkar is constructing a new Terror training and residential centre, Markaz Jihad-e-Aqsa, in the Kumban Maidan area of Lower Dir district. The construction started in July of this year, and according to imagery gathered, the first floor has been built, with work underway to lay more elements of the structure. The new centre will be under the command of Nasr Javed, the co-mastermind of the 2006 Hyderabad blasts. He previously ran the LeT's Dulai terror camp in PoK from 2004-2015, and is currently part of LeT's fundraising arm Khidmat-e-Khalq, formerly Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation, banned by the UN. Yasin alias Bilal Bhai and Anas Ullah Khan, who received training at LeT's Garhi Habibullah Camp in 2016, are also part of the new structure. Operationally, the LeT’s new training centre, expected to be completed by December 2025, poses a medium-to-high long-term threat. The move away of training capacities from LoC follows the destruction of the Markaz Ahle Hadith facility at Bhimber-Barnala by the Indian Army under Operation Sindoor on May 7. The facility was previously specialised in Fidayeen preparation. The intel assessment says the camp is being shifted to lower Dir to "avoid targeting by Indian Forces in future," but "capability exists in the Indian Army to hit such distant locations if there is a requirement to do so based on any future involvement of such facilities in harming the national interests and security of our country and citizens." In addition to Markaz Jihad-e-Aqsa, the assessment is that LeT is planning to expand existing camps at Markaz e Khyber Garhi Habibullah and Batrasi, aiming to restore its recruitment, training, and residential operations after the destruction of its facilities in PoK and Punjab, including Gulpur Kotli, Shwai Nala, Bhimber-Barnala, and the Muridke headquarters under operation Sindoor. While LeT and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) are known to coordinate and share training facilities in PoK, in Lower Dir, the distance between the new under-construction camps of LeT and HM is just 4 kilometres, suggesting potential operational coordination or strategic co-location.

From "destroying" jets to the announcement of the "winner", Pakistan has entered into a race of mind-washing the school kids with a number of bluffs. India's military 'aggression' What the Pakistan textbook says: On May 6, 2025, India launched an attack on Pakistan by falsely accusing it of being part of the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan denied all the allegations, but India still carried out military aggression against Pakistan on 7 May 2025. What actually happened: In Pakistan's terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, 26 people were killed, where 25 were tourists. In retaliation for this attack, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). India clarified that its military deliberately avoided civilian structures and only attacked the hideouts of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, and Hizbul Mujahideen. 2. Talking about Operation Sindoor, he said, “The first question I asked in the meeting with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), the three service chiefs and Defence Secretary the next day, on April 23, was if they are ready for an Operation if the government decided upon one. You would be delighted to know they didn't take even a second and responded that they are absolutely ready. Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, during an interaction with school children from 36 schools at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi on Thursday (September 18, 2025) said Operation Sindoor heralded a “new kind of warfare” and ensured that India beat Pakistan decisively in every escalation during the strike.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (Sep 17) invoked the viral video of a Jaish commander admitting that Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar's family was wiped out in India's Operation Sindoor, and declared that it was proof that "new India...does not fear anyone's nuclear threats".
PM Modi lauds Operation Sindoor
Speaking at a massive rally in Dhar on his 75th birthday, Modi said the confession showed that India's response to terrorism had changed. "New India that strikes terrorists inside their own homes," he said."Pakistani terrorists had wiped the sindoor of our sisters and daughters. We carried out Operation Sindoor and destroyed the terror camps. Our brave armed forces brought Pakistan to its knees within the blink of an eye," the Prime Minister told the crowd."Just yesterday, the nation and the world witnessed another Pakistani terrorist tearfully narrating his ordeal. This is a new India. It does not fear anyone's nuclear threats. This is a new India that strikes terrorists inside their own homes," he added, drawing loud applause.

JeM commander accepts India wiped out Jaish chief Masood Azhar's family
PM Modi's remarks came after a video surfaced of JeM commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri, flanked by Pakistani security personnel, admitting that Azhar's family had been "torn into pieces" in the May 7 airstrike on the group's Bahawalpur headquarters, Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah. The operation was launched after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 25 tourists.

Kashmiri's confession also linked Jaish to the Delhi and Mumbai terror attacks and revealed that Pakistan's Balakot region had long served as the base for Masood Azhar's operations.Operation Sindoor, India's most daring cross-border strike to date, targeted nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Bahawalpur, which was reduced to rubble. At the time, Pakistan's military public relations wing, ISPR, claimed civilians were killed. The new admission, months later, directly contradicts that account."...we fought Delhi, Kabul and Kandahar for protecting the borders of this country. After sacrificing everything, on May 7, Maulana Masood Azhar's family was destroyed in Bahawalpur," Kashmiri said in the video, acknowledging JeM's heavy losses.
