The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the development of a new Civil Enclave at Srinagar International Airport at an estimated cost of Rs 1,677 crore. When the militancy was at its peak, Drang or Doodhpathri were not closed, the upper areas of Gulmarg were not shut, Aru valley was not closed,” he told reporters. “We are trying at our own level despite the fact that we are subjected to taunts that why are we doing so much tourism promotion?” he added, referring to the criticism that his government is focusing too much on tourism. “We know that homes of lakhs of people depend on it and we want tourism to be restored to the level that was there before the Pahalgam attack,” Abdullah said. The operation was conducted in the presence of Magistrates and independent witnesses, ensuring full legal compliance and maintaining transparency throughout the process.&nbsp;Sopore Police is intensifying its efforts to disrupt networks engaged in separatist and terror-related activities through targeted raids. These operations are critical for countering radical ideologies, ensuring public safety, and protecting national security.&nbsp;The police remain steadfast in their commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region. Any individual or group attempting to undermine harmony or revive banned separatist-terrorist networks will face stringent legal consequences. Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two ground workers in Doda and Udhampur districts. Police believe they were planning anti-national activities and were taking orders from terrorists and handlers from across the border. One of the terror associates was identified as Firdous Ahmad working to revive terror activities in the region. Security forces also busted a hideout in the Poonch district and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition along with incriminating materials. Security forces recovered an Improvised Explosive Device, RDX, One battery, two blankets and eatables from the hideout site. Security forces also attached the properties of around half a dozen terrorists operating from across the Border in Pakistan. The National Investigative Agency Court earlier had declared 36 people as absconders operating from across the border. And among those, 7 terrorist properties were attached by the NIA Special court orders. Jammu and Kashmir Police's top official said that the drive to attach properties of absconding terrorists will continue in the region. According to security officials, the shootout began when the forces conducted a search and cordon operation in the Ghadi Bhagwah forest after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. The terrorists are Pakistan-based, said reports.&nbsp;

A group of terrorists was trapped in Doda on Tuesday afternoon, following which the security forces took the position and encircled the area, said a senior police official. At around 5.15 pm, the encounter started in the Gadi Bhagwah forest area, which is located in the upper reaches of Doda.&nbsp;

A cordon and search operation was launched following which the terrorists opened fire on the security personnel.

According to officials, heavy shooting was ongoing between the two sides when the last reports were received.&nbsp;

This follows the killing of five soldiers in the Kathua district, approximately 200 km away, in a coordinated terror attack on two military trucks carrying at least a dozen troops on Monday.

The Kathua attack was the second assault on the Army within 48 hours; on Sunday, terrorists targeted a military camp in Rajouri. Although one soldier was injured, the attack was successfully repelled.

Reports indicate that over 60 foreign terrorists, trained in jungle warfare, may be operating in the Jammu region alone,&nbsp;across all 10 districts of the province.
