US Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday (June 17) took to social media, to clarify some of the concerns rising on social media on the Israel-Iran war.Admitting that he is biased towards US President Donald Trump, Vance reiterated that Trump has been "amazingly consistent" for over 10 years, that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon."Over the last few months, he encouraged his foreign policy team to reach a deal with the Iranians to accomplish this goal. The president has made clear that Iran cannot have uranium enrichment," the US vice president said.Vance stressed that Trump has repeatedly said that this would happen one of two ways--the easy way or the "other" way. While addressing another concern, the US vice president said, "I've seen a lot of confusion over the issue of civilian nuclear power and uranium enrichment. These are distinct issues."He continued Iran could have civilian nuclear power without enrichment, but Iran rejected that, adding that Iran enriched uranium far above the level necessary for any civilian purpose."They've been found in violation of their non-proliferation obligations by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is hardly a rightwing organization," he said."It's one thing to want civilian nuclear energy. It's another thing to demand sophisticated enrichment capacity. And it's still another to cling to enrichment while simultaneously violating basic non-proliferation obligations and enriching right to the point of weapons-grade uranium," Vance added. He said that there is no single good argument for why Iran needed to enrich uranium well above the threshold for civilian use."I've yet to see a single good argument for why Iran was justified in violating its non-proliferation obligations. I've yet to see a single good pushback against the IAEA's findings."He praised the US president for showing remarkable restraint in keeping the military's focus on protecting our troops and protecting our citizens."He may decide he needs to take further action to end Iranian enrichment. That decision ultimately belongs to the president. And of course, people are right to be worried about foreign entanglement after the last 25 years of idiotic foreign policy," Vance said. The US vice president further assured that Trump is only interested in using the American military to "accomplish the American people's goals. Whatever he does, that is his focus."

'25 years of IDIOTIC FOREIGN POLICY': US Vice President JD Vance warns Trump might decide on 'further action' to end Iranian enrichment

US Vice President JD Vance blasted California Governor Gavin Newsom as the tensions between the Trump administration and local officials escalate over the deployment of National Guard and Marines in the protest-hit city of Los Angeles.&nbsp;Taking to X, the vice president blamed Newsom for his “policies that encouraged mass migration into California” and told him to “stop accusing Donald Trump.”&nbsp;“Gavin Newsom says he didn't have a problem until Trump got involved. Both of these photos were taken before the president authorized the national guard to go protect our border patrol in California. Does this look like ‘no problem’?” Vance said.&nbsp;“If you want to know why illegal aliens flocked to your state, stop accusing Donald Trump. Look in the mirror,” he said. “If you want to know why border patrol fear for their lives over enforcing the law, look in the mirror.”&nbsp;“It was your policies that encouraged mass migration into California. Your policies that protected those migrants from common sense law enforcement. Your policies that offered massive welfare benefits to reward illegal immigrants. Your policies that allowed those illegal migrants (and their sympathizers) to assault our law enforcement. Your policies that allowed Los Angeles to turn into a war zone,” he added. “You sure as hell had a problem before President Trump came along.”&nbsp;Vance also blamed Newsom for extending medicaid to illegal immigrants in 2024, accusing him that “elected to take healthcare from impoverished and disabled Californians and give it to illegal aliens.”&nbsp;“And now, everything is President Trump's fault? Give me a break,” he wrote on X.&nbsp;Vance alleged that Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass “fomented and encouraged the riots… to promote mass migration into our country.”&nbsp;“Democratic leadership has no solution for the economy, for prosperity, or for security. They use their power when they're in the majority to import millions of illegal immigrants and when they're in opposition they do everything possible to prevent deportations,” the vice president said.

Elon Musk ‘went nuclear’ on Trump, can he ever return to US President's good books? Here's what JD Vance has to say

After a dramatic public clash with Elon Musk, US President Donald Trump made a series of phone calls to allies in an effort to take control of the narrative. In those calls, Trump is reported to have called Musk a “big-time drug addict” as he tried to make sense of the tech billionaire’s behaviour, according to a Washington Post report. The feud escalated when Musk accused Trump of being linked to Jeffrey Epstein, and also called for Trump’s impeachment. The relationship between Donald Trump and Elon Musk has now become a very public feud, with both exchanging sharp personal jabs. What started as disagreements over policy has turned into a battle to see who wields bigger influence.Musk didn’t stop at criticising Trump’s latest legislative push. Is Musk's war against world's most powerful man a HUGE MISTAKE? JD Vance breaks silence - Here's what he said

India has firmly pushed back against claims made by US President Donald Trump and his administration that the United States helped broker a ceasefire between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor.
The Indian government has said that the decision to de-escalate was made after a discussion between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) from both countries.

<h2>India says no trade talks linked to ceasefire</h2>
According to Indian officials, US Vice President JD Vance spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 9 May, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio held discussions with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on 8 and 10 May, and with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on 10 May. However, New Delhi has clarified that &ldquo;there was no reference to trade in any of these conversations.&rdquo;
This directly contradicts claims made by Donald Trump in public statements, where he suggested trade incentives were used to push both nations toward peace.
<h2>Trump claims credit for ceasefire, India says otherwise</h2>
Speaking to the media earlier, Trump said, "I'm very proud to let you know that the leadership of Indian and Pakistan was unwavering and powerful... We helped a lot, and we also helped with trade. I said, Come on, we're going to do a lot of trade with you guys. Let's stop it... If you stop it, we're doing trade. If you don't stop it, we're not going to do any trade."

India, however, maintains a very different version of events. According to the Indian government, the ceasefire agreement was finalised after direct military-level communication between the DGMOs of both countries on Saturday, 10 May. These discussions were reportedly initiated by Pakistan, not the United States.

India News: The Indian government has said that the decision to de-escalate was made after a discussion between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) from both countries.

However, New Delhi has clarified that “there was no reference to trade in any of these conversations.” This directly contradicts claims made by Donald Trump in public statements, where he suggested trade incentives were used to push both nations toward peace. Trump claims credit for ceasefire, India says otherwise Speaking to the media earlier, Trump said, "I'm very proud to let you know that the leadership of Indian and Pakistan was unwavering and powerful... We helped a lot, and we also helped with trade. I said, Come on, we're going to do a lot of trade with you guys. Let's stop it... If you stop it, we're doing trade. The incoming US Vice President JD Vance Saturday (Jan 11) reiterated President-elect Donald Trump&rsquo;s promise to pardon Jan 6 Capitol riot protesters, but added those who were involved in violence should &ldquo;obviously&rdquo; not receive any relief. Trump has repeatedly said he would offer presidential pardons to Jan 6ers on the very first day of his administration.
&ldquo;If you committed violence on that day, obviously you shouldn&rsquo;t be pardoned,&rdquo; Vance said while talking to Fox News. He added, &ldquo;If you protested peacefully on January 6, and you had Merrick Garland&rsquo;s Department of Justice treat you like a gang member, you should be pardoned.&rdquo;

Trump loyalists had laid siege to the US Capitol following the 2020 loss to Democratic candidate Joe Biden in an attempt to stop the certification of the elections. The ruckus ended up claiming five lives and causing injuries to the hundreds, including 174 police officers. Later, at least 127 defendants were handed over convictions. According to the US Justice Department, about 1,580 people had been charged with federal crimes stemming from the riot.

The Washington Post reported that among those convicted, at least 13 are linked to the far-right Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, who face charges of seditious conspiracy. At least 379 people faced charges related to assaulting police or members of the media. At least 287 people are facing less serious charges, primarily less violent or nonviolent felonies.

Did newly elected Pope criticise Trump administration? Here’s what his social media reveals

U.S. Senator JD Vance has called out Russia for making excessive demands to end the Ukraine war, stating that Moscow's expectations are too high for any realistic peace resolution.

Russia-Ukraine War: 'Russia asking for too much': JD Vance calls out Moscow

The US Vice President JD Vance said on Wednesday that the Trump administration believes Russia is &ldquo;asking for too much&rdquo; in the talks to end the war in Ukraine. &ldquo;Right now, the Russians are asking for a certain set of requirements, a certain set of concessions, in order to end the conflict. We think they&rsquo;re asking for too much,&rdquo; Vance said at a Munich Leaders Meeting on international security policy in Washington, D.C.

His comments followed an earlier interview in which Zelensky accused the US vice president of echoing Kremlin narratives and attempting to justify Russia&rsquo;s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
<h2>'A shift in reality'</h2>
Zelensky, in an interview with CBS News, reflected on his strained meeting with Vance at the White House on 28 February. He described a &ldquo;shift in tone, a shift in reality,&rdquo; and criticised Vance&rsquo;s unwillingness to acknowledge the suffering caused by the war.
During the Oval Office meeting, Zelensky invited Vance to Ukraine to witness the devastation firsthand. Vance declined the offer, accusing Kyiv of organising &ldquo;propaganda tours&rdquo; for Western officials to manipulate views on the war.

<h2>A long-standing divide</h2>
Vance, a key figure in the Trump administration's "America First" agenda, has long argued against US military aid to Ukraine. He says continued support places an unnecessary burden on American taxpayers and distracts from domestic issues.
Ever since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, Vance has been criticised for downplaying the conflict&rsquo;s importance and repeating arguments seen as favourable to Russia. Just days after the war began, he said he &ldquo;doesn't care about Ukraine,&rdquo; a comment he has stood by, saying his focus is on protecting US interests.
"That doesn't mean you morally support the Russian cause, or that you support the full-scale invasion," Vance explained.
"But you do have to try to understand what are their strategic red lines, in the same way that you have to try to understand what the Ukrainians are trying to get out of the conflict," he added.
<h2>Zelensky warns of Russia&rsquo;s true intentions</h2>
Zelensky, however, has remained firm in his warnings. He insists that Russia is not interested in dialogue but in domination and that Ukraine&rsquo;s only hope lies in continued Western backing, military, financial, and political.
The disagreement between the two leaders highlights the growing divide between Kyiv and parts of the Trump administration, with Vance&rsquo;s latest comments marking another low in their troubled relationship.

'Sort of absurd': Zelensky, Vance’s relationship hits new low; US VP hits back after Ukraine accuses US of siding with Russia

US vice president JD Vance completed the White House visit of national college football champions Ohio State University by fumbling their championship trophy. The incident happened on Monday (Apr 14) when Vance, trusted to run the country in case of emergencies as number 2 to Donald Trump, tried to lift the trophy.
He grabbed it from top, without realising that it is a two-part trophy. He picked up the football shaped top and the bottom dropped on the ground and started rolling away.

Vance was helped by OSU running back TreVeyon Henderson and coach Ryan Day to put the pieces back and then try and pick up again.

Vance, who himself is an OSU alumni, said after video started circulating on social media: "I didn't want anyone after Ohio State to get the trophy so I decided to break it," he wrote on X.
Trump, meanwhile, credited OSU to win the trophy despite the 'adversity' - hinting at their loss against unranked Michigan in November last year.
Vance, in his speech before fumbling the trophy, said: I don't know who let the guy over in the corner here, in a Michigan hat, into this celebration. But I'm about to tell the Secret Service, 'You've got a dangerous weapon, sir.'"
Teams which win national championships at college and pro level are often invited to White House to honour their achievement. In Donald Trump's first term as president though, many winners decided against it or were not invited by the White House.
In the second term, however, the things seem to have changed a bit as the teams look open to visit the White House. Super Bowl winners Philadelphia Eagles have been extended an invitation which they have accepted and the White House recently hosted LA Dodgers to celebrate their 2024 World Series victory.
