<p>Apparently, the situation has changed further as according to The Hollywood Reporter, a memo has been signed by TCL Chinese Theatres principals Eli Samaha, Carol Braidi and Hina Rizvi.</p>

<p>The memo states, "Now, with the updated stay-at-home directive, as predicted, the situation is expected to worsen before we see improvement. This will have a detrimental impact on the finances of TCL Chinese Theatres. It requires the business to make the extraordinarily difficult decision of terminating your employment, effective today, April 1, 2020. This is to ensure TCL Chinese Theatres remains a viable business during these difficult and unprecedented times."</p>

<p>Coronavirus lockdowns are no barrier for musicians who want to record together - remotely - as British singer-songwriter John Miles and the Antwerp Philharmonic Orchestra showed with their new release.</p>

<p>The 70-plus musicians regularly perform in Europe's annual "Night of the Proms" pop and classical concert series. But with the performances canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, they recorded the popular event's anthem song "Music" from their isolated nests.</p>

<p>Miles sang and played the piano at home in the northeast of England, while the others performed their own sections elsewhere in Europe, following a click track of sound cues to keep time. The tracks were combined in a studio.</p>

<p>"It was kind of easy to put together... because everybody was on the same page," Miles said in an interview on Monday.</p>

Tom Holland, Justin Bieber & other Hollywood stars take part in Push Up challenge

<p>‘Wonder Woman 1984’ has now been postponed until August.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Warner Bros. film was to hit the theatres in June but due to the ongoing coronavirus scare and lockdowns all over the world, they have decided to now push the film until August 14.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“When we greenlit Wonder Woman 1984, it was with every intention to be viewed on the big screen and we are excited to announce that Warner Bros. Pictures will be bringing the film to theaters on Aug. 14,” Toby Emmerich, Warner Bros.’ chair, said in a statement. “We hope the world will be in a safer and healthier place by then.”</p>

<p>‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is a sequel to the hit 2017 DC Comics movie.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, after the announcement, Gal Gadot who plays the superwoman character wrote on Twitter, “In these dark and scary times, I am looking forward to a brighter future ahead. Where we can share the power of cinema together again.”</p>

We are confident that — like other businesses hit hard by the virus — movie theaters will bounce back strongly, and we will be there to support them."</p>

<p>Kirk&nbsp;Douglas, one of the last superstars of Hollywood's golden age of cinema renowned for his intense, muscular performances in "Spartacus" and "Paths of Glory," died Wednesday aged 103.</p>

<p>The US leading man, producer and director came to prominence in the late 1940s and never lost his popularity, taking on nearly 100 movies over a&nbsp;six-decade career that endured beyond a severe stroke in his later years.</p>

<p>His death at his family home in Beverly Hills was confirmed by his son Michael, the Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker.</p>

<p>"It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that&nbsp;Kirk&nbsp;Douglas&nbsp;left us today at the age of 103," Michael&nbsp;Douglas&nbsp;said in a statement posted to Facebook.</p>

<p>"To the world, he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of movies who lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in setting a standard for all of us to aspire to."</p>

<p>Douglas, born Issur Danielovitch to Jewish-Russian immigrants in upstate New York in 1916, began as a stage actor before serving in the US Navy during the Second World War.</p>

<p>He graduated to movies in 1946 when "Casablanca" producer Hal Wallis signed him, and he became a star for his role as a double-crossing and womanizing boxer in 1949's "Champion."</p>

<p>His subsequent roles would often mirror his real-world, larger-than-life and intense persona, including a ruthless movie producer in "The Bad and the Beautiful" (1952) and tortured artist Vincent van Gogh in "Lust for Life" (1956).</p>

<p>Douglas&nbsp;told The New York Times in a 1984 interview that he had "always been attracted to characters who are part scoundrel," adding: "I don't find virtue photogenic."</p>

<p>He was renowned for his physical commitment to roles, training for months to play a boxer in "Champion," and learning to horseride and shoot in the 1957 Western "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral".</p>

<p>Douglas&nbsp;gathered three Oscar nominations, the last for "Lust for Life," but missed out each time and was never nominated again. He never won a competitive Academy Award.</p>

<p>But he was granted an honorary lifetime achievement statuette by the Academy in 1996 -- just months after his stroke -- "for 50 years as a creative and moral force in the motion picture community."</p>

<p>Douglas&nbsp;is survived by second wife Anne Buydens, 100, and three sons. A fourth child, Eric, died of a drug overdose in his 40s, in 2004.</p>

<p>"(To) me and my brothers Joel and Peter he was simply Dad, to Catherine (Zeta-Jones), a wonderful father-in-law, to his grandchildren and great grandchild their loving grandfather, and to his wife Anne, a wonderful husband," said Michael.</p>

<p>"Kirk's life was well lived, and he leaves a legacy in film that will endure for generations to come, and a history as a renowned philanthropist who worked to aid the public and bring peace to the planet."</p>

He graduated to movies in 1946 when "Casablanca" producer Hal Wallis signed him, and he became a star for his role as a double-crossing and womanizing boxer in 1949's "Champion." His subsequent roles would often mirror his real-world, larger-than-life and intense persona, including a ruthless movie producer in "The Bad and the Beautiful" (1952) and tortured artist Vincent van Gogh in "Lust for Life" (1956). Douglas told The New York Times in a 1984 interview that he had "always been attracted to characters who are part scoundrel," adding: "I don't find virtue photogenic." He was renowned for his physical commitment to roles, training for months to play a boxer in "Champion," and learning to horseride and shoot in the 1957 Western "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral". Douglas gathered three Oscar nominations, the last for "Lust for Life," but missed out each time and was never nominated again. He never won a competitive Academy Award. But he was granted an honorary lifetime achievement statuette by the Academy in 1996 -- just months after his stroke -- "for 50 years as a creative and moral force in the motion picture community." Douglas is survived by second wife Anne Buydens, 100, and three sons. A fourth child, Eric, died of a drug overdose in his 40s, in 2004. "(To) me and my brothers Joel and Peter he was simply Dad, to Catherine (Zeta-Jones), a wonderful father-in-law, to his grandchildren and great grandchild their loving grandfather, and to his wife Anne, a wonderful husband," said Michael. "Kirk's life was well lived, and he leaves a legacy in film that will endure for generations to come, and a history as a renowned philanthropist who worked to aid the public and bring peace to the planet."
