<p>Pakistan bowler Haris Rauf took a sensational one-handed stumbling catch in his follow through in last over of his spell against South Africa to take his team on the brink of victory in ODI World Cup 2023. South Africa needed 11 runs in 30 balls with two wickets left in a chase of 271 when Rauf came on to bowl his last over. The pacer bowled two dot balls before taking a wicket on the third ball to tilt things in Pakistan's favour.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pakistan beat Netherlands by 81 runs in the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 6 in Hyderabad to start their campaign with a win. The victory was more hard fought than the 81-run margin suggests and the credit goes to Pakistan bowlers for taking their team home, especially Haris Rauf.</p>

<p>The pacer took three wickets in the match including a couple in the same over before sending the stumps flying of Netherland's last wicket Paul van Meekeren to light up the World Cup. It was a length ball from Rauf which came back in, missed the bat and hit the leg-stump, uprooting it and making it cartwheel as the bowler erupted in jubilation. <p>Apart from Rauf's three wickets Hasan Ali, who replaced injured Naseem Shah in the Pak squad, took two. Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan and Shaheeh Afridi took one each from the rest of the wickets.</p>

<p>Chasing 287, Netherlands were in a decent situation with 120/2 in the 24th over before Shadab Khan got opener Vikramjit Singh (52) out. Rauf's double-wicket over shortly after put Pakistan on top and they made no mistakes after that. Netherlands' Bas de Leede continued to fight in the face of falling wickets, scoring 67 off 68 but didn't get the support from the other end.</p>

<p>Earlier, Pakistan were in a soup after losing the toss and batting first as they lost three wickets for 38 inside 10 overs including skipper Babar Azam. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan, who both scored 68, then added 120 runs for the fourth wicket to provide some stability to Pak innings.</p>

<p>Bas de Leede then bowled a double-wicket over to rattle Pakistan but handy knocks by Shadab Khan (32) and Mohammad Nawaz (39) kept them in the game. de Leede returned once more and took two more wickets in one over again as Pakistan crossed 250 with two more wickets left.</p>

<p>Some lower hitting afterwards got Men in Green to 286 as they got bowled out in 49 overs - around 25 more than Netherlands would have liked to chase.</p>

Following the nail-biting Super Four clash against Sri Lanka in Colombo, Babar raised concerns over not having a fully-fit pace department at the helm at the start of the Cricket World Cup 2023.</p>

Karthik made the comments while talking to media outlet Cricbuzz after the Pak pace trio took all 10 wickets in the Asia Cup 2023 match against India.</p>

<p>“Shaheen, Haris Rauf and Naseem can bowl 90+ consistently and all three are very different in nature,” said Karthik. “Shaheen Shah obviously the left-armer, has an angle to it and brings the ball back in, Naseem Shah swings the ball both ways, Haris is arguably one of the best bowlers right now at the back end of an inning because of his skid and the nasty bouncer that he’s got,” he added.</p>

<p>“For me they are a far more potent attack on flat wickets,” he said. “If there is something in the pitch then both attacks at all times become very equal but if I had to play an attack I have a feeling, I have a better chance of probably playing Jasprit, Bumrah, Siraj and Shami only because the bounce they’ll get will be slightly lesser than what these three other bowlers can do from Pakistan,” he further added.</p>

<p>The game between Pakistan and India, however, did not produce a result as rain marred the second innings after India finished on 266 in 48.5 overs. With Pakistan already through Super Four, India will aim for that same in their match against Nepal on Monday, September 4.</p>

A fifer from Haris Rauf saw Pakistan take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series on Tuesday as they build up for the Asia Cup 2023. While it was a convincing display with the ball for Babar Azam’s side, Pakistan had their fair share of problems with the bat before registering the win.</p>

<p>Asked to chase 202, Afghanistan were never in the contest as they lost wickets at regular intervals. They lost four wickets in the first powerplay and were 4/3 at one stage with the likes of Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah running riot with the ball. Interestingly, only two batters crossed double-digit for Afghanistan before they were bowled out for 59 runs in 19.2 overs.</p>

<p>Rahmanullah Gurbaz (18) and Azmatullah Omarzai (16) were the picks of the batters in Afghanistan while extras contributed eight runs for them in a below-par show. Rauf was the chief culprit for Men in Navy Blue as he scalped five wickets for 18 runs while Shaheen Afridi ended with a brace. Nassem Shah and Shadab Khan also scalped with one wicket each.</p>

<p>Earlier, Pakistan had the worst possible start to the contest as they lost two wickets for seven and were 40/3 before the end of the first powerplay. The 1992 ODI World Cup winners were on the back foot from the start as they lost wickets at consistent intervals. Imam-ul-Haq top scored with 61 runs while Shadab Khan scored 39 runs with the bat. Shadab and Naseem put together a partnership of 35 runs for the ninth wicket.</p>

Pakistan will then return to their homeland to face Nepal in the curtain-raiser for the Asia Cup before traveling back to Sri Lanka to face India in the high-voltage contest.</p>

<p>They are likely to revisit Pakistan for another game in the Super Four before a meeting with India (depending on group-stage results). Pakistan are also in the running to prepare their squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India where they start against the Netherlands on Friday, October 6.</p>

AFG vs PAK: Haris Rauf leads Pakistan's charge in one-sided affair, beat Afghanistan by 142 runs in Hambantota

<p>Skipper Babar Azam smashed a magnificent century while pace bowler Haris Rauf took four wickets as Pakistan beat New Zealand by 38 runs in the second T20 international in Lahore on Saturday.</p>

<p>Azam, who fell for just nine in his 100th T20I on Friday, compensated with a brisk 58-ball 101 not out to lift Pakistan to a solid 192-4 in their 20 overs.</p>

<p>Rauf, who took a career best 4-18 in Pakistan's 88-run win in the series opener, finished with 4-27 to restrict New Zealand to 154-7.</p>

<p>Pakistan now lead the five-match series 2-0 with the last three matches in Lahore (April 17) and Rawalpindi (April 20 and 24).</p>

<p>Chad Bowes (26) and skipper Tom Latham (19) put on 44 for the first wicket in 6.2 overs, but as the asking rate soared New Zealand's chase lost steam.</p>

<p>"We have been there or thereabouts but weren't able to finish the innings off, both with the ball and bat," said Latham.</p>

<p>"When Babar plays like that, you tip your hat off."</p>

<p>Azam was the mainstay of the Pakistan innings after he won the toss and chose to bat.</p>

<p>He smashed a six and two fours in the last over to reach his third T20I century, becoming only the sixth batter to do so in the shortest format at international level.</p>

<p>Azam put on 99 for the opening wicket with Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 50 off 34 balls.</p>

<p>After removing Rizwan in the 11th over, New Zealand slowed Pakistan's charge as Matt Henry then dismissed Fakhar Zaman for a duck and finished with 2-29.</p>

<p>Saim Ayub also fell without scoring and Imad Wasim was out for two as Pakistan lost four wickets for just six runs in the space of 14 balls.</p>

<p>Azam started the 20th over on 84 and looked like he would end short of a century, but he took the attack to James Neesham -- dispatching the last ball over cover for a four to reach his ninth hundred in all T20 cricket.</p>

<p>Babar Azam is among the top-five batters across formats in ICC rankings. He won the ICC Player of the Year award last month. While he continues to make rapid strides as a batter, questions have been raised on his captaincy in the recent past.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the recent past, Pakistan have lost home Tests versus Australia, England and somehow managed a drawn series versus New Zealand. They also lost T20Is to the Aussies and Moeen Ali-led England in their own backyard last year, failed to win the Asia Cup 2022 final and 2022 T20 World Cup summit clash under Babar. Even in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 edition, Babar's Peshawar Zalmi are at the fourth spot, with three wins and equal number of losses from six games.</p>

<p>Pakistan fast bowler Haris Raud recently revealed he used to work part-time as a salesman while recalling his&nbsp;struggles from tape-ball cricket to professional cricket. Rauf is currently one of the vital cogs in the Pakistan team and will be part of the team's pace attack in the upcoming final of the T20 World Cup 2022 against England.</p>

<p>Nonetheless, Virat Kohli was joined by all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who instilled a lot of belief in their 113-run fifth-wicket partnership and played the aggressor's role. While Hardik did slow down a bit towards the end overs, Kohli took the mantle and pressed the accelerator with his timely and unbelievable strokes, taking on Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, etc., to take India past the finish line in a thrilling last-over run-chase.</p>

<p>Hardik was dismissed for 40 (37) but Kohli kept his cool and ended the run-chase for India, with R Ashwin hitting the winning shot on the final ball of the contest. After the riveting encounter, at the MCG, Melbourne, Kohli and Hardik got together and relived their match-winning stand.</p>

<p>"I would have taken a bullet for you at that point of time, but I would not have let you get out. My goal was simple, whatever I can do to make your life easier, I'll do it.
