<p>As per news agency AFP, the blaze broke out on the third floor of a car park at Terminal 2 of the airport as firefighters struggled to bring the fire under control.</p>

<p>"Our priority remains supporting the emergency services and the safety of our passengers and staff. Therefore, we have taken the decision to suspend all flights until 3 pm (1400 GMT) on Wednesday 11th October," the British airport said in a statement issued early Wednesday morning.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport at this time, as access remains severely restricted," it added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the aftermath of the incident, four firefighters and an airport employee were rushed to the hospital, as per the local ambulance service. Another person was treated on-site.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The blaze broke out at 8:47 pm (1947 GMT) in the airport's newly built car park.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It was horrible, the noise was like popcorn," said Marilena Ligea Stan, from Romania, who had to wait 12 hours after landing from Bucharest to leave the airport.</p>

<p>Robert Saunders was on his way to the airport from Somerset in southwest England when he found out.</p>

<p>"Our first two fire appliances arrived on the scene just a shade under 10 minutes later to work alongside firefighters from Luton Airport Fire Service," said Andrew Hopkinson, chief fire officer for Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.</p>

<p>"On arrival, my officers were faced with a severe and rapidly spreading fire involving a large number of vehicles that ultimately spread to multiple floors and involved a partial collapse of the car park," he added.</p>

<p>The dozens of individuals who were injured in the fire have been moved to two different hospitals. Twenty-five&nbsp;people have been moved to HBT Trauma Care Hospital, while 15 are receiving treatment at Cooper Hospital.</p>

<p>Media reports said that two of the injured sustained serious injuries. The name of the building where the tragic incident took place is named Jai Bhavani, which is on Goregaon's MG road. The fire department declared the building as 'level 2'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The fire engulfed everything that came in its way. Reports quoting officials said that the blaze spread through shops on the ground floor and also through the scrap material present there. Due to the massive blaze, people were left stuck on various floors including the terrace.</p>

Smoke willowed through the lift duct, reports added, while giving details of the ground situation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The fire was extinguished at around&nbsp;6 am.</p>

<p>Sandeep Garg, SSP Sas Nagar Mohali said, "We would like to appeal to everyone not to come close to this area until the fire is completely under control...As per the preliminary information, a total of seven people are injured out of which five have sustained minor burns and are under treatment and two have sustained major burns and referred to Sector 32(hospital). We pray for their speedy recovery."</p>

<p>The officials in a statement said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.</p>

<p>According to reports, the fire broke out on the third floor of the Hotel Galaxy which is a ground plus floor structure around 1:10 pm (local time), as per media reports citing officials. From there, the flames spread to the first and second floors of the building.</p>

<p>It was later reported that out of the five who were taken to the hospital, three people were declared dead.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The fire has also gutted the electric wiring, power installations, air-conditioning, curtains, mattresses, and wood furniture in a couple of rooms and common areas like the duct, staircase and lobby, the fire brigade official said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The official had earlier told the PTI news agency that four fire engines and many water tankers were rushed to the hotel. In addition to the civic body officials, Mumbai police were also rushed to the spot.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The blaze was categorised as ‘Level 1’ as per fire brigade norms and was doused by 3:20 pm (local time) using three hose lines, one high-pressure first aid line as well as four fire engines, four water tankers and other equipment.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>About the victims</strong></h2>

<p>At least eight people were rescued out of which&nbsp;three&nbsp;were injured and were rushed to hospital where they died, said the&nbsp;firemen at the spot.&nbsp;<br />

“Two persons identified as Rupal Kanji (25), Kishan (28) and Kantilal Gordhan Vara (48) were declared brought dead by hospital authorities. Alfa Vakhariya (19) and Manjula Vakhariya (49) are injured and are under treatment,” said a fire brigade official, as quoted by PTI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The recent incident also comes days after a 65-year-old died after a fire in a ground-plus-six-storey, Haripreet building, a residential building fire in Santacruz. The blaze that was reported on August 15 at 3:47 pm (local time) had prompted a rapid response by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB).&nbsp;</p>

The fire broke out at 5.15 am on Saturday and the Fire service personnel who arrived at the spot half an hour later put down the blaze by 7.15 am,&nbsp;said the release from Southern Railway.</p>

<p>"This is a private party coach that was attached at Nagercoil Junction yesterday (Aug 25) by train no. 16730 (Punalur-Madurai Exp). Party coach was detached and kept at Madurai Stabling line. The passengers in the private party coach have....smuggled gas cylinder and this has caused the fire," the release said.</p>

<p>The railways said that the private coach had started its journey from Lucknow from August 17. It was scheduled to return to Chennai on Sunday. From there, it was to return to Lucknow.</p>

<p>"While the coach was stabled/parked, some members of the party in the private coach were using the illegally smuggled cooking gas cylinder unauthorisedly for preparing tea/snacks, which caused the fire in the stabled/parked coach. Most of the passengers could get out of the coach on noticing fire. Some passengers had already got down at platform before detachment of coach," it said railways.<br />

Madurai District Collector, MS Sangeetha, told&nbsp;media that the injured were admitted to Government Rajaji Hospital in the city. Talking to ANI, she said, "Today early morning at 5:30 am there was a fire accident in the coach which was halted here at Madurai railway station...They were pilgrims and&nbsp;were travelling from Uttar Pradesh. The fire started this morning when they tried to make coffee on the gas stove. Rescue operation is underway."</p>

<p>Dozens of individuals have been injured. Out of the injured, at least 10 are reported to be in critical condition, as noted by the RIA news agency, citing Russian deputy health minister Vladimir Fisenko.</p>

<p>Amid the chaos, an unnamed witness recalled the immediate aftermath of the explosion.&nbsp;"After the explosion, everything fell on our heads, we couldn't see anything anymore," said the unnamed witness, reported AFP news agency.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A video shared on Telegram by the Ria Novosti news agency showed the initial flames erupting from the building, followed by a massive explosion.</p>

<p>The Moscow region prosecutor’s office said the preliminary cause of the fire was a violation of fire safety requirements during welding work, reported the Russian state news agency, TASS. Additionally, the media report citing the warehouse’s owners said that all employees had left the premises.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Series of fires and explosions around Moscow</strong></h2>

<p>The Russian capital city and its surrounding areas have recently witnessed a rise in incidents of warehouse fires or explosions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The incident on Sunday comes days after TASS citing the Russian emergency service reported a massive fire in a warehouse in Odintsovo, a town to the west of Moscow between Vladimir Putin and the Vnukovo airport.</p>

<p>According to TASS, the fire on Thursday (August 10) started in the warehouse, 6.5 kilometres away from Putin’s presidential residence in Novo-Ogaryovo. The size of the fire was reported to be 2,000 square metres, as of midnight (local time). However, the cause of the fire was not immediately known.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A day prior to that, a powerful explosion ripped through a factory which the Russian media has previously said manufactures military equipment like night vision goggles and is around 70 kilometres northeast of Moscow.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The explosion had also led to the death of one woman and injured more than 50, said the Russian officials, at the time. One of the victims has died as a result of their injuries, the TASS news had previously reported.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Connection to Ukraine drone attacks?</strong></h2>

<p>These incidents have reportedly been linked to a rise in alleged Ukrainian drone attacks in and around the capital city, by pro-Kremlin commentators, as Russia is in the midst of what it calls its “special military operation” in Ukraine.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Kyiv has not directly claimed responsibility for any attacks against Russia, top officials have reportedly welcomed them. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, last month, said <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/war-coming-to-russia-says-ukraines-zelensky-after-moscow-drone-attack-620848">“war” was coming to Russia</a>, hours after a drone attack on the capital Moscow.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Gradually, the war is returning to the territory of Russia – to its symbolic centres and military bases, and this is an inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process,” Zelensky had said at the time.&nbsp;<br />

Terming the areas&nbsp;a 'war zone', he said, "Everything is burnt to the ground in Lahaina. When the fire jumped from one spot to another – there were three or four fires going on at the same time – it got seeded very quickly with those 80 mph gusted winds. And then the fire moved at essentially a mile per minute, 60 mph down through the community. &nbsp;That's what a fire hurricane is going to look like in the era of global warming."&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the new footage, people are seen jumping into the Pacific Ocean so as to escape the flames as the wildfires raged throughout&nbsp;the island last week.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the town of Lahaina, people were seen getting thrown around the choppy waters as embers and thick smoke surrounded them.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, firefighters who rushed to control the Maui wildfire found that the hydrants were running dry because of which the crews had to embark on a perilous rescue mission.</p>

<p>While trying to control the fire, crews found that the water pressure was very feeble and the wind was turning the streams into mist. Then, with the increasing inferno and hurricane roaring towards the town's historic centre, the hydrants sputtered and turned useless.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“There was just no water in the hydrants,” stated Keahi Ho, one of the firefighters who was in Lahaina.</p>
