A cinema hall in India's Moti Nagar neighbourhood in West Delhi caught fire on Sunday afternoon. Reports suggest&nbsp;that as many as 67 people were present inside the hall at the time of the incident. Fortunately, no one suffered any sort of injury and everyone was safely evacuated.

Reports citing fire officials said that the incident took place at Fun Cinema auditorium number 3 during the screening of the Hollywood film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. The officials said that the fire appeared to have started in the projection room. The auditorium, according to them, is situated on the third floor of the structure.

Director of Delhi Fire Services Atul Garg said that a call about the fire was received at around 1.12 pm. “Since it was the question of fire in a cinema hall, we rushed seven fire tenders to the spot,” said Garg.

Senior fire officer B Prakash said it took around two minutes for the fire tenders to get to the cinema. “By the time we reached there, the cinema staffers had begun rescuing the audience members,” said Prakash. “The fire was found to be in the projector room, an isolated cabin cramped for space and dark and filled with machines, as is common in all projector rooms.”

The auditorium hall has&nbsp;a seating capacity of 200 people, said a sub-officer of Moti Nagar fire station Praveen Kumar.&nbsp;“The fire seemed to be in the split AC in the projector room. There was so much smoke that we couldn’t have gone into the auditorium and searched for anyone trapped inside without breathing apparatus,” he said.

It is important to note that the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.&nbsp;In about six to seven minutes the fire was doused,&nbsp;said Prakash.&nbsp;

Although&nbsp;the auditorium soon got filled with&nbsp;smoke, Prakash said that there was no stampede-like situation. Fire authorities said that the occupants of the other two auditoriums were also evacuated simultaneously for safety reasons. However, they were unable to immediately disclose how many people were in each auditorium.

“The cinema staffers used their available smoke exhaust machines to remove the smoke, a process that took over an hour. In the meantime, we searched the hall to see if everyone had vacated it and if anyone had fallen unconscious inside,” said Prakash. The firefighters had to use breathing apparatus sets to go about the search operation in the smoke-filled hall, he said adding, “the public and the cinema staff cooperated with us to make it easy for us."

The plaza has been a prime location for protests by left-wing and nationalist activists over a range of political and social issues.&nbsp;

According to an eyewitness, the driver of the van jumped out of the vehicle in the nick of time after he noticed that it has caught fire and hence, he only sustained injuries in his hand and leg.

As per reports, a nearby apartment building and pharmacy also caught fire.&nbsp;

According to the newspaper, around five cars and four mopeds were set alight. Before firefighters reached&nbsp;at the scene to tackle the blast, the city's Porta Romana area was&nbsp;cordoned off by police.&nbsp;

Any foul play was ruled out by the city's mayor Giuseppe Sala as he confirmed that no one was killed in the incident. "It's a van carrying oxygen cylinders,” he said. He added that only the driver suffered light injuries.&nbsp;

Sala said that the van's driver had informed the fire brigade that the fire started in the engine of the van he was driving. "He quickly grabbed the oxygen cylinders he was carrying ... He tried to limit the damage but then there was an explosion," the mayor stated.

The blaze was quickly extinguished by the firefighters as thick clouds of black smoke rose into the sky. Fire service officer Carlo Cardinali stated that oxygen cylinders were filled inside the van, however, they are investigating the exact cause of the blast.

"At the moment, only the driver" had reported injuries, he said, adding that he managed to escape with "light burns".

Meanwhile, a 39-year-old labourer who was working nearby, Giuseppe said, "I heard three big explosions and more that followed. I came straight away to see what was happening, and the whole street was on fire, people were running."

The footage shared by the fire service showed a powerful blast which burned out a dozen parked cars. Many canisters were visible on the street between the remains of a destroyed vehicle.

Montse Marcos, a manager at the organisation informed that two men, aged between 25 and 30 died in the blaze. Meanwhile, the 10 injured are currently being treated in different hospitals. “A fire in a restaurant in Manuel Becerra Square has resulted in the deaths of two people. Six people hurt have been taken to different hospitals in serious condition. Four other people suffered minor injuries,” said a spokesperson from the Emergency services. “Twelve firefighter crews have put out the fire that spread quickly across the restaurant ceiling. They also rescued several people, clients and employees." They were trapped because the flames were preventing them from reaching the exit,” he added. Furthermore, the Associated Press, citing videos of the fire&nbsp;circulating on Chinese social media said&nbsp;black smoke billowing from the building and some people were seen climbing out of the&nbsp;windows using what appeared to be&nbsp;makeshift ropes made out of bedsheets while some took&nbsp;refuge on air conditioning units outside.&nbsp;

The death toll was released after the&nbsp;victims were taken to another unidentified hospital for emergency treatment, as per media reports. However, there was no immediate clarity on those injured or their condition.&nbsp;

Without them, it would have been impossible to save my belongings,” said Asif, a trader with shop on the first floor.

According to Warnick, a second alarm was sent before firemen arrived and was quickly raised to a third and fourth alarm.

Three people lost their lives and several others suffered burn injuries after an unidentified person set his co-passengers on fire after pouring inflammable oil on them inside Alapuzha-Kannur Express' &nbsp;D-1 coach around 9.50 pm on Sunday after the train departed from Kozhikode railway station in north Kerala, said the police. &nbsp;

The police discovered three bodies, including one of an infant, on the railway tracks as they suspected that the people may have jumped out of the moving train in panic. Two, of the three killed, were identified as Toufiq and Rehana.

Terrorism angle was not ruled out by the police as a bag was discovered from the tracks which contained another bottle of petrol, as well as, two mobile phones.&nbsp;

As per an eyewitness, just after the train halted on a bridge along the Korapuzha river, a man who appeared in his thirties, jumped out of the train and fled on a bike which was present there.&nbsp;

The visuals of the assailant have been recovered by the police from CCTV footage of a neighbourhood house and the incident was suspected of a well-planned attack.&nbsp;

One of the passengers who suffered injuries told the police that the accused suddenly took out a bottle filled with an inflammable substance and started spraying it on co-passengers. Before anyone could react, he lit the fire and fled from the scene.

As per reports, the man had an argument with one of his co-passengers after which he poured the petrol.

"Anilkumar from Thalasseri, his wife Sajisha, their son Advait, Ruby from Kannur and Prince from Thrissur, are among the passengers who were injured," said sources, as per news agency PTI.&nbsp;

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) gets to know about the arms piled up at Mount Carmel Centre. They get a warrant against Koresh for violating gun laws.

The next thing you know is the Waco Texas shootout, resulting in the killing of four ATF officers. It soon transforms the crime scene into a war zone, one hell of its kind.

Then comes the point when everything becomes completely silent, no more guns blazing. You might become a little teary-eyed at this point.

FBI felt it is their principal responsibility to look into the killings of four ATF officers. So the ATF and FBI work together, till the latter takes complete charge after a nod from Attorney General Janet Reno.&nbsp;

What follows is the friction between the FBI's negotiating team and Hostage Rescue Team (HRT).

Now, the HRT is deploying the Bradley infantry vehicles first, and later the Abrams tanks, used in war zones, right outside the front gate of Koresh's cult home.

So? HRT uses its enormous tanks to demolish portions of the compound. The scene where the FBI sniper Chris&nbsp;Whitcomb had Koresh at gunpoint is the most intriguing. Nonetheless, he chose not to shoot, something he says he thinks about every day.&nbsp;

Then things start to go southwards. The building is on fire. There is a massive plume coming out of it. HRT seemed to be in utter confusion. It anticipates that Branch Davidian members will now finally come out. Only seven of them did. Everyone else, 76 Branch Davidians and 25 children, just chose to stand by Koresh and perish in flames next to him.

All of this is pretty straightforward, right? Maybe it's merely the order in which things transpired, but the documentary has a distinctive commentary from the cult's surviving members, like Heather Jones, who was just seven years old at the time. Her emotional recollections in the documentary are presented as though they happened only yesterday and not in 1993.&nbsp;

Kathy Schroeder, another member at Mount Carmel Centre, divulges in the documentary how in a sexual encounter Koresh showed her 'God's will.' Koresh purportedly had sex with young children and other men's wives.&nbsp;

The Netflix three-part docuseries also encapsulates David Thibodeau's views. He is another cult member who escaped the devastating fire by leaping out of a hole in the house.&nbsp;

It further shows how Koresh's mother selected the top defence attorney to assist her son, a self-proclaimed God. It is pretty chilling to see Koresh's lawyer enter the compound without a bulletproof vest because, according to him, he is more terrified of the HRT mistakenly shooting him than he is of Koresh.

The reports from the journalists on the scene are unbelievable too. What they initially believed to be a routine ATF operation that would culminate in some tedious interviews became the biggest story of their lives.&nbsp;

But the question that the documentary fails to tackle is...

Who started the fire? Were there any incendiary devices that the FBI planted inside the house that could have started the deadly fire? Surviving cult member David Thibodeau contends it was not the cult members who put the house on a blaze. FBI calls him a liar.&nbsp;

The 51-day siege from 28 February 1993 to 19 April 1993 has many wild theories and the documentary, 30 years on, fails to give any further clarity.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Security and rescue officials in Montreal, Canada said that they were beginning to launch a search for seven missing people feared buried under the rubble of a heritage building. Fire engulfed the&nbsp;site last week.

As workers took steps to secure the three-storey structure, flowers were left by citizens across courtyard of the building. The three-storey structure remained inaccessible to firefighters and police as of Sunday morning.

It took more than 100 firefighters to contain the fire at the building, which broke out on Thursday morning and left several injured, said Marie-Eve Beausoleil, a spokesperson for the city's fire department, the Service de securite incendie de Montreal.

The fire's cause is unknown.&nbsp;Authorities are investigating whether this was an act of arson.

Montreal Police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said investigators had reason to believe there were victims inside.

Apartments in the building were used both by long-term residents and guests who were staying there short-term, after booking lodgings through Airbnb, Beausoleil said on Saturday.

Late on Saturday night, Montreal fire operations chief Martin Guilbault said that fire crew were to begin dismantling of parts of the building on Sunday. This is being done in order for investigators to continue their search and determine why the fire started.

A massive fire broke out at Foxlink’s manufacturing unit in India’s southern Andhra Pradesh state. No casualties were reported.

The Taiwanese-based manufacturer, part of Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co Ltd, has halted production of cables for iPhone chargers. The factory opened in 2020.

The blaze was reported on Monday afternoon and damaged nearly 50 per cent of the machinery at the factory, said J Ramanaiah, who leads the Fire Services Department for Tirupati district in the state, reports Reuters news agency.

Around 750 people working at the unit in Jinkalamitta village, Tirupati district, were able to escape uninjured, police said.

Though the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the blaze spread rapidly due to fibre, sheets, and sponge being stocked at the facility.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) A Ramachandra said that the fire was confined to one shed due to the timely arrival of fire brigades.

FlightAware data shows the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft departed the airport at 7:07 a.m. Pacific Time and returned to San Diego at 7:51 a.m. CNN was informed by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)&nbsp;official Ian Gregor that a laptop battery caused the fire. The FAA will look into it, Gregor said.

“Our crew acted quickly to contain the device and medical personnel met the aircraft upon arrival at the gate,” said United Airlines spokesperson Charles Hobart in a statement to CNN. “Several flight attendants were taken to the hospital as a precaution, and two customers were evaluated onsite.”

After flames were detected in one of its engines, a Calicut-bound Air India Express B737-80 aircraft from Abu Dhabi had to make an emergency landing back at Abu Dhabi airport, the country's aviation regulatory body said Friday.&nbsp;

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in a statement said the flight which had a total of 184 passengers on board landed safely and none of the passengers was hurt during the incident.

"Today an Air India Express B737-800 aircraft VT-AYC operating flight IX 348 (Abu Dhabi-Calicut) was involved in Airturnback due to the No. 1 engine flameout at 1,000 ft during the climb," DGCA said in a statement.&nbsp;

After the snag was detected, the flight was immediately landed, around 45 minutes after taking off. Calicut-bound Air India Express flight catches fire mid-air, lands back at Abu Dhabi airport

As per reports, 15 servicemen were killed and three others suffered serious injuries after a military barracks caught fire overnight in Armenia on Thursday, stated the defence ministry.&nbsp;

The fire "broke out in the barracks of an engineer and sniper company of a military unit", stated the ministry. "Fifteen servicemen were killed as a result... The condition of three (other) servicemen is assessed as serious," it added.&nbsp;

It stated that the fire broke out around 01:30 am on Thursday (2130 GMT Wednesday) in Azat's barracks, which is a village in Gegharkunik's eastern region, near Azerbaijan's border.&nbsp;

Investigators stated that a criminal investigation is being carried out into any kind of violation of the safety standards.

Blaze at Armenian military barracks kills 15, injures three

Three people were killed in a massive fire that broke out inside a Perth hotel. The authorities called emergency services which included 60 firefighters, 21 ambulance crews and nine fire trucks to the New County Hotel on County Place at around 05:10 am (local time).

Two people residing in neighbouring flats along with hotel guests were evacuated and the area was cordoned off by the police who appealed&nbsp;the people to avoid the area. Around eleven people were provided medical help at the scene of the incident by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The authorities were able to extinguish the fire at around 6:30 am (local time) after which&nbsp;they discovered the bodies in a subsequent search.

Speaking about the incident, the residents of the city expressed their shock at the tragedy. "We were wakened at 05:00 when the alarms went off and the lights were flashing in my room," said one of the residents.

"Obviously as we were watching it unfold, police incident units were arriving. The fire brigade and 21 ambulances were outside. It was pretty horrendous to watch. It was frightening. When I saw the private ambulance I knew it only meant one thing. Then I realised it was major," the resident added. &nbsp;

The death of a dog in the blaze was also confirmed by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Senior fire officer of the area Jason Sharp said that firefighters did their best to save many casualties from the hotel before sending them into the care of paramedics.

Police Scotland said that a joint investigation was being conducted by their officers along with the fire service. Chief Supt Phil Davison said, "Our thoughts are very much with the families and loved ones of those who have died at what is a very difficult time for everyone."

Local MSP and Deputy First Minister John Swinney appreciated the work of emergency services.

"The news of the major fire at the New County Hotel in Perth and the loss of life that has been associated with that has been an absolutely tragic start to 2023 in the city of Perth. I extend my deepest sympathies to everybody who has been involved in this tragedy and affected by this tragedy," he said.
