The security clearance would designate them as Trump&rsquo;s national security advisors. Nepotism rules prevent Trump from hiring his family members to work in the White House. Critics argue that this could bring up possible conflicts of interest in the upcoming Trump administration.

&ldquo;This is why we created the nepotism law in the first place. Huge conflicts of interest. You can&rsquo;t have your kids being advisers. It has to be properly qualified officials who are experts in the fields,&rdquo; Bradley Moss, a lawyer specialising in security-clearance law, told The Daily Beast.&nbsp;

But&nbsp;Rudy Giuliani, a top Trump advisor, dismissed the concern, claiming&nbsp;that Trump would not make any decisions to solely benefit his business while in office.&nbsp;

&quot;There&#39;s no perfect way to do this. You have to have some confidence in the integrity of the president. I don&#39;t think there&#39;s any real fear or suspicion that he&#39;s seeking to enrich himself by being president,&rdquo; Giuliani said on CNN&#39;s &quot;State of the Union&quot;.

The accord says in its Article 28 that any country wanting to pull out after signing on has to wait four years. In theory, the earliest date for withdrawal would be November 4, 2020, around the time of the next US&nbsp;presidential election.

In an interview with CBS&#39;s 60 Minutes, US President-elect Donald Trump said he was &quot;saddened&quot; by reports of a surge in the the harassment of minorities since his election and told his supporters to &quot;stop it&quot;.&nbsp;

Two-term Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is in the running to be included in President-elect Donald Trump&#39;s cabinet, according to a media report.

If Jindal is included in Team Trump, he wil become the first Indian-American to be included in the cabinet of the US president and second ever to be elected to the US Congress.

Wall Street Journal said Jindal, the first ever Indian-American to be elected as the US governor, is being tipped for the position of Secretary of Health. Politico also included his name in the list.

Buzzfeed, however, didn&#39;t include his name on their list.&nbsp;

Both Carson and Jindal are former Republican presidential candidates. While Jindal, after dropping out of the race, endorsed Senator Ted Cruz for presidency, Carson supported Donald Trump, the winner of the US presidential elections.

Jindal, who has been keeping a low profile after dropping out of the Republican presidential primary, did not respond to queries on his possible Cabinet position.

On the other hand, it is almost certain that Carson would be a part of the Trump&#39;s Cabinet. Trump, in the past, has indicated Carson to be his first choice for the position of Heath Secretary.

Jindal has served as a principal adviser to the US Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Bush Administration, during which he excelled with his administrative and management skills and later on went on to be elected to the House of Representative for two-terms and thereafter as Louisiana Governor twice.

Last year, he expressed his desire to run for the US presidency but dropped out of the race early this year following low polling among a crowded GOP aspirants of 17 candidates. During the primaries, Jindal was highly critical of Trump and his policies.&nbsp;

Bobby Jindal shortlisted for Trump cabinet: Report

US President-elect Donald Trump has promised to deport&nbsp;millions of undocumented migrants.&nbsp;

The measures voted through in Oklahoma, Nebraska and California via referendum are not expected to spark a sharp rise in the number of executions, but activists say they are a step in the wrong direction.

&quot;Those states have chosen a failed, broken policy when they had the chance to move towards a new dawn,&quot; said Shari Silberstein, director of the advocacy group Equal Justice USA.&nbsp;

&quot;The death penalty&#39;s demise is inevitable. We have a long list of evidence why that`s true,&quot; she added.

In 2016, the United States is on course for its lowest number of executions since 1991.

This comes as post-conviction appeals in capital cases tend to become more and more frequent than in other cases, increasing the time and cost before an execution can actually be carried out.

There is also a shortage of the chemicals needed for lethal injections because pharmaceutical firms, mainly those located in Europe where the death penalty has been abolished, refuse to supply them.

The death penalty was not a major issue in the presidential campaign, as neither Trump nor Hillary Clinton opposed it. But in three states of varying political stripes, voters chose to back it.

In Oklahoma, the death penalty was legal, but it faced mounting challenges in court over the lethal injection materials used, with lawyers for inmates charging that they cause undue suffering --&nbsp;a violation of the Eighth Amendment, which bans &quot;cruel and unusual punishment.&quot;

Besides voting 65 per cent in favor of Trump, voters in this conservative Midwestern state made clear they are tired of executions being delayed.

The new law in Oklahoma also allows the authorities to choose &quot;any method of execution not prohibited by the United States Constitution.&quot;

Nebraska, a bit further to the north and also strongly Republican, reinstated the death penalty by a vote of 61 per cent in favor. The referendum rescinds a law banning the death penalty that the state legislature passed last year.

Donald Trump open to keeping certain parts of Obamacare

One protester was shot on Saturday in Portland, Oregon as thousands of Americans took to streets on Friday and Saturday in several cities to demonstrate against Donald Trump&#39;s election as the next US president.

The unidentified man was found on Portland&#39;s Morrison Bridge.

A man came out of his vehicle on the bridge, confronted and then shot a protester, police said in a statement, news agency AFP reported. The suspect is still at large, police added.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The same night, Portland police responded to protesters with pepper spray and flash-bang devices. The demonstrators had blocked traffic and threw objects at police dressed in riot gear.

At one point, police pushed protesters back and appeared to take at least one person into custody, according to footage on a local NBC affiliate, reported AFP.

Protesters chanted &quot;We reject the president-elect&quot; and &quot;Whose streets? Our Streets&quot; as they marched through the streets of Los Angeles.&nbsp;

Several thousand activists blocked traffic as they marched through downtown Miami, with a few hundred making their way onto a highway.

Anti-Trump protesters gather for third night, one shot in Portland

One of President-elect Donald Trump&#39;s most divisive promises, to ban Muslims from entering America, disappeared from his campaign website before reappearing on Thursday.

Trump&#39;s campaign staff told US media that text of the pledge, posted in December following terror attacks in San Bernardino, California, vanished because of a technical glitch.

It reappeared after journalists questioned the disappearance.

&quot;The website was temporarily redirecting all specific press release pages to the homepage. It is currently being addressed and will be fixed shortly,&quot; the campaign said in a statement.

Trump said in December that Muslim immigrants pose the United States a security threat and called for &quot;a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country&#39;s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.&quot;

America: Reports of surge in racism after Trump elected President

Donald Trump&#39;s election as US president poses risks for the relationship between the European Union and the United States, EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said on Friday.

The shock winner of Tuesday&#39;s US election was ignorant of the EU and its workings, Juncker told students at a conference in Luxembourg which can be viewed on the EU&#39;s website.

&quot;The election of Trump poses the risk of upsetting intercontinental relations in their foundation and in their structure,&quot; said Juncker, who as head of the EU&#39;s executive is one of Europe&#39;s most powerful political figures.

His blunt remarks reflected widespread shock and concern among Europeans at the election of Trump, who among other statements has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and questioned the principle of collective defence in NATO.

His comments contrasted with the more diplomatic reactions of European leaders who have said they look forward to working with the next Republican president.

Juncker warned against the &quot;pernicious&quot; consequences of Trump&#39;s statements on security policy. He also recalled a Trump statement in which he seemed to think that Belgium, the country that hosts the headquarters of the EU and NATO, was a city.

While the world comes to terms with Donald Trump winning the presidency, there&#39;s a lot of optimism in Russian circles about the surprise outcome of the US elections.&nbsp;

Even as Russian president Vladimir Putin welcomed Trump&#39;s win, his closest political advisor and political analyst Sergei Markov told The Guardian Russia may have played a role in the WikiLeaks scandal. &quot;Maybe we helped a bit with WikiLeaks,&rdquo; the pro-Kremlin analyst was quoted as saying. Russia has been openly accused of interfering in the elections in favour of Donald Trump. Russian authorities were accused of hacking Democratic party emails that were leaked to WikiLeaks before the US elections.&nbsp;

The Russian government also revealed today that it maintained contact with representatives from Trump and Hillary Clinton&#39;s presidential campaigns. &quot;During this entire period, we not only sent some signals through some representatives, or private messages,&quot; Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova was quoted as saying by CNN.

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told The Associated Press that Russian experts had contacts with people in both the Trump and Clinton campaigns. He said such contacts are &quot;quite natural, quite normal.&quot;

The Clinton camp had repeatedly accused Trump of maintaining ties with Russia during the elections.&nbsp;

Makrov, however, denied that Russia interfered in the elections.

And while he hoped that US and Russia would find common ground on Ukraine and in Syria, he warned about the &quot;macho&quot; personalities of the two world leaders.

&ldquo;Putin is a macho, Trump is also a macho. Maybe it could be a problem,&rdquo; Markov, the pro-Kremlin analyst said.

Another Trump fan was optimistic that the former businessman would bring his pragmatism to politics.&nbsp;

If they suspected a child or woman could fall victim to a forced marriage, polygamy, or female genital mutilation, the hotline was there supposedly for them.&nbsp;It was pointed out that a phone number already exists for when something wrong needs to be reported&nbsp;-- the police.

The culturally&nbsp;barbaric hotline&nbsp;was pushed&nbsp;as the Conservatives were not just peddling anti-Niqab rhetoric, but as the main force driving their federal election&nbsp;campaign. Keep in mind, a niqab is a piece of clothing almost nobody wears in Canada, and even the conservatives only wanted it banned&nbsp;in limited instances, like a citizenship ceremony.

Turning&nbsp;an&nbsp;issue that affects almost literally nobody in Canada into the largest issue of a Canadian&nbsp;election makes no sense,&nbsp;unless the real goal is not to regulate&nbsp;clothing&nbsp;but to&nbsp;woo&nbsp;Canadian Islamophobes. Only since discrimination isn&#39;t nice,&nbsp;conservatives like Leitch&nbsp;try to appear like they are&nbsp;upholding&nbsp;Canadian values in the very act of&nbsp;destroying them.&nbsp;It&#39;s a pernicious trick.

There were reports of topless protests by women against Rump when the country went to the polls. A Hindu soothsayer read that as a good omen. No wonder Rump loves the Hindus, even if a little less than he loves his steak.&nbsp;

Clearly, Contender and her supporters had underestimated Rump&rsquo;s charm.

But all is not well with the women who will now work with Rump. Sources inside the whitest, brightest house have said there has been a deluge since yesterday of resignation letters from female staff.&nbsp;

One source said women had kept two letters ready, bracing for any eventuality: Rump&rsquo;s presidency or the return of the intern banger.&nbsp; 
It is likely that the house will house only an all-male staff now.&nbsp;

A letter has already been issued by Rump&rsquo;s aide to the house chef ordering him to stop serving women guests food. The aide said, &ldquo;Rump does not want to be blamed for women getting fat. He can&rsquo;t be too careful!&rdquo;&nbsp;

Meanwhile, protocol officers have been instructed to buy stocks of higher high heels and smaller swimsuits, to be gifted to visiting female dignitaries and wives accompanying their statesmen husbands.&nbsp;

In her congratulatory message to Rump, Germany&rsquo;s Angel Mermaid expressed her displeasure at such a move. These are not the values that Germany and the US share, she said. Mermaid has been championing the right of heads of state to wear boring clothes.&nbsp;

Naren Moody of India, on the other hand, has applauded Rump&rsquo;s decision. It is to be noted that Moody&rsquo;s wife does not accompany him anywhere on his many state visits.

Analysts are awaiting Saudi Arabia&rsquo;s reaction to Rump&rsquo;s ascent to the house and the already growing stocks of swimsuits and heels there. It has been murmured in the alleys of think hubs like Crookings that the US and Saudi Arabia are headed for a nasty split.&nbsp;

Last year, the United States and around 180 countries signed a landmark deal to slow climate change, an idea Trump has dubbed &quot;a hoax.&quot;&nbsp;

Iran has expressed concern that he would try to make good on a threat to rip up the nuclear agreement it signed last year with six world powers.

And Syrian refugees may no longer find safe haven in the United States, Trump having deemed them too great a risk of extremist violence.

In short, almost all of Nobel peace laureate Obama&#39;s foreign policy legacy is at risk, even his successful effort to normalize ties with communist Cuba.

But, once in the White House and advised by the National Security Council, State Department and US Trade Representative will Trump follow through?

Trump: What exactly will the new president do?

Despite sex assault allegations hounding him, fat-shaming a former beauty queen and his controversial abortion stand, a large number of women voters helped put Donald Trump in the White House.

Though his rival, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, clinched 54 per cent of the female vote, Trump was backed by 42 per cent of women voters, which contributed to his stunning victory, according to CNN exit polls.

Some 53 per cent of white women voters supported the Republican candidate, CNN said, the majority of them (62 per cent) non-college educated.

The results upended predictions that sexist and degrading comments Trump made against women would sway female voters, who accounted for about 52 percent of the electorate on Tuesday, in favour of a candidate that could have broken the glass ceiling.

Experts said the outcome is not surprising, and reflects an election in which issues about the economy, jobs and immigration were much higher on all voters&#39; priority list than gender issues.

&quot;At the heart of it is what was driving all voters,&quot; said Diane Heith, professor and chair of the Department of Government and Politics at St&nbsp;John&#39;s University in New York.

Heith said although the leaked Access Hollywood tape in which Trump boasted about groping women, and his disparaging comments about a former Miss Universe had made many women cringe, it was not enough to turn them against the candidate.

&quot;There was no sisterhood created,&quot; Heith said. &quot;The issue of how he treated women did not overshadow the attitudes these individuals already had, being disaffected and how they had been treated by the establishment elite of which Hillary was absolutely part of.&quot;

Tough to cope

Still, the real estate magnate&#39;s shock win has left many women struggling to cope with the election of a president whose misogynistic behavior was disregarded at the polls.

&quot;More than half of white women voted for the man who bragged about committing sexual assault on tape, who said he would appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe vs Wade, who has spent 30-plus years in the public eye reducing women to their sexual attributes,&quot; wrote LV&nbsp;Anderson in an article in the online current affairs magazine Slate.
