US President Donald Trump said that his foreign policy decision made it possible for Israel to exist. He claimed that Obama's JCPOA was a “road to a nuclear weapon”. Trump claimed that if the US B2 bombers did not attack the nuclear facilities in June 2025, then Iran would have “eviscerated” Israel. Donald Trump's latest interview and an upcoming book both reveal how the American president believes he is the most powerful man to ever walk on Earth. In the book "Regime Change" by The New York Times writers Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, Trump shows off a document arguing how he holds more power than Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Stalin, Mao and Hitler - the world's best-known dictators. The 80-year-old did not hesitate to place himself alongside them, showing how he sees power. The authors write, "He began reading from it, reciting the names of some of history's most powerful figures". He then explains how each "fell short of his own power as US president."&nbsp;Trump says in the book, "They didn't have airplanes, right? Donald Trump's latest interview and an upcoming book both reveal how the American president believes he is the most powerful man to ever walk on Earth. In the book "Regime Change" by The New York Times writers Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, Trump shows off a document arguing how he holds more power than Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Stalin, Mao and Hitler - the world's best-known dictators. The 80-year-old did not hesitate to place himself alongside them, showing how he sees power. The authors write, "He began reading from it, reciting the names of some of history's most powerful figures". He then explains how each "fell short of his own power as US president." Trump says in the book, "They didn't have airplanes, right? You couldn't travel around," referring to Alexander the Great, the Caesars and William the Conqueror, before adding, "Napoleon". He said so "with relish", the authors say. Haberman and Swan reveal that the most standout thing about Trump's words was "the evident pleasure he took in the company of Mao, Hitler, and Stalin", leaders known to have "reshaped the world through conquest and fear". He accepted a place among these men "through untroubled ease". A viral photo shows Donald Trump leaning into Brigitte Macron for a kiss on the cheek during his visit to the Palace of Versailles. The First Lady of France can be seen putting a hand in between, with a cringe expression on her face. The viral photo is an apparent dig at this incident. Another clue lies in Brigitte's dress. She wore a black dress with white detailing on the neck. However, the sleeves of her dress in the photo are white. So clearly, the photo is not real. However, it is generating buzz on social media.<h2>The Palace of Versailles dinner and MoU</h2>Macron's invitation to Trump for the dinner at Versailles is being described as a clever ploy to keep Trump in France for a longer time to avoid an abrupt departure from the international summit. Before the dinner, Trump expressed his love for all things ornate and grand. "I'm a fan of beautiful places... And Versailles is not a gold leaf. Versailles is the real deal," he told reporters.Using Versailles for the signing of the MoU also garnered flak from critics. The Palace of Versailles was the setting for the signing of the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, which many believe sowed the seeds for World War II. Critics used this parallel to argue that the new MoU merely delayed a larger inevitable conflict in the Middle East. &nbsp;

A significant diplomatic rift has erupted between Rome and Washington. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has abruptly canceled his scheduled visit to the United States following comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump in an interview with Italian broadcaster La7.

The war of words escalated as Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced the cancellation of a planned visit to the United States next week, describing President Donald Trump’s comments as offensive not only to PM Giorgia Meloni but also to Italy as a whole.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Friday strongly rejected claims made by US President Donald Trump that she had “begged” him to take a photograph with her during the recent G7 summit and said the story was totally fabricated. Meloni said she was astonished by Trump’s comments, which she described as “completely made up” and an unnecessary slight against a long-standing ally. In an interview with Italian television channel La7 after the G7 summit in France, Trump reportedly suggested that Meloni was very eager to be photographed with him and that he had only agreed out of sympathy. Video footage from the summit showed the two leaders sitting together and engaged in an extended conversation. In a characteristically candid moment during a recent public appearance, President Donald Trump sparked conversation by revealing he had considered awarding himself the Presidential Medal of Freedom. During the lighthearted yet headline-grabbing exchange, the President noted that while he felt his administration's accomplishments warranted the honor, he was ultimately advised that he could not—and should not—bestow the nation's highest civilian honor upon himself.

Trump: Wanted to Give Medal to Myself, But Was Told I Couldn't

Washington's most predictable drama has flipped. For over a year, President Donald Trump branded Jerome Powell a "knucklehead" for refusing to cut interest rates. On Wednesday, with new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh holding rates steady at his very first meeting, and half the Fed signalling a possible rate hike, Trump's reaction from Paris was: "It's all right. Whatever."

On Wednesday, President Trump, referring to new Fed boss Kevin Warsh, said: "We have a very good guy over there now, so I'm guided by what he wants."

The Fed left rates unchanged, with about half the members signalling the next move to be a hike rather than a cut. So Trump's comment is not policy alignment, but a relationship pivot.

US President Donald Trump's controversial $13.1 million vanity project - the overhaul of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has taken a turn for the worse. The project, which Trump spent months bragging would reflect a specifically chosen shade of "American flag blue" for 100 years, has already turned green with algae, not even 24 hours after the project was completed. Not just that, already the blue coating has started coming off, with visitors now snagging pieces to take home as souvenirs.<h2>'American flag blue' turns puke green</h2>Trump had championed the project for months, arguing that the pool's traditional grey appearance should be replaced with what he described as an "American flag blue" finish. The coating was also intended to serve as a long-term sealant for the historic structure, which officials say loses millions of gallons of water annually through leaks.Also read | <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/g7-hot-mic-moment-catches-us-ally-s-difficult-trump-confession-here-s-what-happened-macron-zelensky-russia-war-1781663838986">G7 Summit hot-mic moment catches US ally's 'difficult' Trump confession. "This was highly sophisticated material, industrial strength, that could last for 100 years," Trump wrote on Truth Social earlier this month while praising the contractor and the quality of the coating.<h2>Project cost American taxpayers seven times the original cost</h2>The renovation has also drawn attention because of its cost. Trump initially suggested the work would cost around $1.8 million. However, federal records later showed that the Virginia-based contractor, Atlantic Industrial Coatings, received a $13.1 million contract.Also read | <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/trump-trying-to-take-out-competition-newsom-alleges-doj-probe-is-politically-driven-they-chose-a-target-and-went-looking-for-a-crime-1781661000750">Trump trying to take out competition? Trump further complicated matters by offering conflicting explanations about how the contractor was selected.In April, he told reporters he had chosen the company because it had worked on a swimming pool at one of his golf clubs in Virginia. Later, he denied any involvement in the selection process, saying the Interior Department awarded the contract to a company he had never worked with.Meanwhile, federal workers continue efforts to tackle the algae outbreak that emerged shortly after the pool was refilled. Crews have been vacuuming algae from the bottom of the pool and deploying hydrogen peroxide and ozone-based treatment systems to improve water quality.

What was supposed to be a 100-year fix for Washington's iconic Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is already drawing ridicule. Just days after the completion of Donald Trump's $13.1 million renovation project, the pool's "American flag blue" coating has reportedly begun peeling off.

US President Donald Trump confirmed that Apple will collaborate with Intel to design and manufacture semiconductor chips within the United States. Announcing the development on the Truth Social platform, Trump stressed that it is not just important to design chips but to produce chips domestically. Trump also claimed that the US government acquired 10 per cent equity in Intel, helping the company's overall valuation to shoot up to USD600 billion from USD100 billion. Consequently, the US government's holding in the company is now over USD60 billion in just nine months. Following the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to end the 110-day U.S.-Iran conflict, tensions remain high as both nations shift to the implementation phase. Tehran has emphasized that the success of this peace agreement which includes the lifting of U.S. naval blockades, oil export waivers, and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz will depend entirely on the U.S. fulfilling its commitments.
