<p><i>Punjabi aa gaye, oye!</i> (Punjabis have arrived) Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh brought a flavour of Punjab to <i>The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.</i> Dosanjh was back on the&nbsp;New York-based late-night talk show on Monday, two years after he made his debut on the show. The singer-actor gave a lesson on bhangra to host Jimmy Fallon and perform his song <i>Morni.&nbsp;</i></p><h2>Diljit Dosanjh teases Morni to Jimmy Fallon</h2><p>Unlike his 2024 debut on the show, where he only performed as a performer, on Monday’s episode, he featured as a guest.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Dosanjh shared a glimpse of his appearance on the episode. The video also shows Dosanjh giving a lesson in bhangra to Fallon. Bhangra is the traditional dance form of Punjab.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The video begins with a member of Dosanjh’s team&nbsp; opening the studio door and saying, <i>“Kya lagta tha nahi lautenge</i> (You thought we would not come back)?”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The camera then turns to Diljit, who says, “<i>Kaha tha na ke ek baar Punjabi aa jayein toh chethi nahi jaate Jimmy Fallon aa gaye oye</i> (We told you, once a Punjabi shows up, they don’t leave in a hurry. We are here at Jimmy Fallon).”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>He then performs bhangra steps in the studio. Dosanjh also shared a thank-you note that Fallon had written to him on his Instagram Stories. Dosanjh shared multiple posts later on his time at the show, including a snippet of him performing <i>Morni</i> wearing a traditional black outfit and turban.&nbsp;</p>

<p> </p><p>The show’s official Instagram account also posted clips from the set, which show Dosanjh giving Fallon a crash course in bhangra. The two are seen dancing together and laughing through the exchange. When Fallon asks what beats they should dance on, Diljit says bhangra can be performed on any beat, even to the sound of a generator.</p>

The film, which was released last week, features Diljit Dosanjh along with actors Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahaan Shetty. The film has opened to good box office numbers and critical praise. In a recent video shared on social media, Diljit has recalled how he had watched the original Border film on TV, much after its theatrical debut, because he could not afford tickets to the theatre.&nbsp;</p><h2>Diljit Dosanjh on watching Border 2 on television</h2><p>On Wednesday, Diljit took to Instagram and shared a video recalling how he had to wait for JP Dutta's Border to air on television.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"<i>Shor bahut tha ki Border aayi hai, matlab poore desh mein shor tha ki Border aayi hai. Tab gharwale aise theatre mein jaane bhi nahi dete the. Humare paas koi aise paise bhi nahi the ki hum theatre mein dekhein. Maine phir TV par dekhi thi jab Border aayi thi. Toh hum wait hi kar rahe the — kab aayegi aur kab dekhenge.</i> (There was a huge buzz when Border released, I mean, there was noise about it across the entire country. Life truly came a full circle for singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh as he starred in Border 2. The film, which was released last week, features Diljit Dosanjh along with actors Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahaan Shetty. The film has opened to good box office numbers and critical praise. In a recent video shared on social media, Diljit has recalled how he had watched the original Border film on TV, much after its theatrical debut, because he could not afford tickets to the theatre. Diljit Dosanjh on watching Border 2 on television On Wednesday, Diljit took to Instagram and shared a video recalling how he had to wait for JP Dutta's Border to air on television. "Shor bahut tha ki Border aayi hai, matlab poore desh mein shor tha ki Border aayi hai. Tab gharwale aise theatre mein jaane bhi nahi dete the. Humare paas koi aise paise bhi nahi the ki hum theatre mein dekhein. Maine phir TV par dekhi thi jab Border aayi thi. Toh hum wait hi kar rahe the — kab aayegi aur kab dekhenge. (There was a huge buzz when Border released, I mean, there was noise about it across the entire country. In those days, our family didn’t even allow us to go to theatres. We also didn’t have the money to watch films in cinemas. So, I watched Border on TV when it aired. We were just waiting for it — when it would come on television and when we’d finally get to watch it)." He added that he had watched the film two to three times. Diljit said that he knew a neighbour who had watched the film in a theatre and had told everyone how people had enjoyed it in the hall. Diljit said, "Film ka kamaal ka mahaul tha theatre mein. Toh uski baatein sunkar main bahut excited ho gaya tha ki jab bhi TV pe aayegi, main zaroor dekhunga. Toh maine TV par dekhi. Bhaji, abhi jo meri feeling hai na, woh yeh hai ki jo Bhagwan de raha hai, main le raha hoon. Main apne aapko laayak nahi samajhta iske ki main is film ka hissa ban paoon. Lekin jo bhi Bhagwan de raha hai, uska shukr hai (The atmosphere in the theatre during the film was incredible. Hearing people talk about it made me very excited, and I decided that whenever it came on TV, I would definitely watch it. So I watched it on television. Bhaji, the way I feel right now is that whatever God is giving me, I am accepting it with gratitude. <p>Diljit got emotional and added, “Me going there isn’t a big deal. But Punjab going there, and a turban being represented there, that’s huge. I wanted to make the biggest statement on that red carpet. The Punjabi language is ancient. It is due some respect. There is a whole story there. They cited this as the reason for not releasing the film in India, given the current climate.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>“This is to bring to everyone’s kind notice that the film named,<i> Sardaar Ji 3,</i> was shot well before the prevailing situation that our country is facing now and it was never ever the case that any Pakistani artist was signed or was engaged after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam," read the statement posted on the social media handles.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The note further read, “We stand united with our country and our fellow countrymen during this sensitive time. Considering the same, we had decided not to release the film or any of its promotional content in India until the situation becomes opportune".<br>&nbsp;</p><p>The statement was received with mixed reactions.
