Commenting on DC’s chances in IPL 2020, all-rounder Axar Patel has said with top quality new recruitments, the franchise has ticked all the boxes and are well capable of going all the way in the tournament, set to commence on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).&nbsp;

Delhi Capitals have added the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey among others to their ranks and are looking pretty solid on paper. However, they would need to better their performances from last year in a bid to end the trophy drought.&nbsp;

"With the new changes, I think the squad looks good. With fast bowlers, spinners and all-rounders, we have covered all the bases and I think we can become champions this time. Everyone looks positive in the nets and we all are in good shape,” Axar Patel said on Tuesday.

"Nevertheless, the positive thing is that at least we will have action-packed cricket after a long time, which is a good thing for not only us, but also for India. Everyone will enjoy the game with a different frame of mind which will be really exciting," he said.

DC confirmed that he had travelled independently to UAE earlier this week and had tested negative in the first two tests. He returned positive after the third RT-PCT test, conducted on Day 6.&nbsp;

"He was isolated immediately, and is currently at the IPL Isolation Facility in Dubai for the next 14 days, at the end of which he will have to produce two negative reports for him to be able to join the Delhi Capitals squad. The franchise's medical team is in constant touch with him, and wishes him a speedy recovery," the release stated.

South African speedster Anrich Nortje has been roped in by Delhi Capitals to replace England’s Chris Woakes in the upcoming <a href="https://www.wionews.com/topics/ipl">Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020</a>, scheduled to be held in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.

English all-rounder, Woakes had pulled out of the cash-rich T20 tournament in March due to family commitments after being signed up by the Delhi franchise for $200,000 in the auctions, held in December 2019.

However, after much wait, DC has signed in Nortje who will join fellow South African pacer Kagiso Rabada in the squad for the 13th edition of IPL, the franchise announced on Tuesday.&nbsp;
