India opener Sanju Samson’s poor performances for Chennai Super Kings have come under early scrutiny, but head coach Stephen Fleming has expressed confidence in the star batter’s ability to bounce back. After two low scores to start IPL 2026, Fleming emphasised that Samson’s talent remains unquestioned and a return to form is only a matter of time. Samson’s move from Rajasthan Royals came with high expectations, particularly as CSK enter a new phase and the 31-year-old had recently won the Player of the Tournament award during India’s 2026 T20 World Cup triumph. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan believes that Mumbai Indians are slightly ahead of Chennai Super Kings as the greatest team in IPL history, even though both have won the same number of titles. The 41-year-old reasoned that MI has made a bigger impact on Indian cricket than CSK, producing several top players who have represented the national team. He further explained that this comes from Mumbai’s strong scouting system and their different team approach. Mumbai usually mixes players in their prime with new domestic talents, while Chennai, until 2026, mostly depended on experienced and proven players. Pathan pointed out that Chennai began winning titles from 2010 and even won back-to-back trophies in 2010 and 2011. But when Mumbai started winning in 2013, they kept winning almost every alternate year and later won consecutive titles in 2019 and 2020. He added that Mumbai had a very strong squad last season and could have won the title but missed out for various reasons. Also Read - LeBron James breaks another record in Los Angeles Lakers win over Orlando Magic “CSK started winning the IPL title from 2010 onwards. The number of match winners they have produced for the Indian team is absolutely tremendous. How do you achieve that? First, you make your franchise big. Second, you deliver results with the team you have. Even now, Mumbai Indians had a great squad last season that could have easily won the trophy, but they couldn’t for different reasons," he added. While MI can take pride in discovering talents like Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma for India, CSK can highlight their role in nurturing players such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Murali Vijay and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Also Read - IPL: MS Dhoni to bid adieu in upcoming season? Mumbai Indians will kick off their IPL 2026 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium on Mar 29, while Chennai Super Kings will open their season against Rajasthan Royals at ACA Stadium on Mar 30.

CSK or MI? Former India all-rounder makes his call on IPL’s best side

Former India batter Robin Uthappa has hinted that the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) season will be MS Dhoni’s last as he enters the twilight of his career. Dhoni, who turns 45 in July, confirmed availability for the upcoming season and will feature for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as they bid for a record sixth title. According to Uthappa, the upcoming season will be his last with the Yellow Army as they look to give him a happy sendoff.
MS Dhoni to play last IPL?
“I don't think CSK should hand over the leadership duties to Sanju Samson. You have to give Ruturaj Gaikwad time to settle as captain. He has been leading the team since 2024. No matter what people say, he is coming out of the shadow of MS Dhoni. You want him to come out completely and stand in his own light. You want to see what he can produce,” Uthappa said. ALSO READ | Meet Indians to score most runs in each of last 5 T20 World Cups ft Virat Kohli “You want him to lead the team when MS is not playing and stand on his own, without that overwhelming feeling of always being under that energy. Domestic giant Sarfaraz Khan has expressed his gratitude to IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for making a late bid for him at the recently concluded mini auction in Abu Dhabi. Priced at INR 75 lakh, Sarfaraz failed to attract any bids in the first round but found his new IPL home in the five-time winners CSK as their sixth buy of the evening. The right-handed batter played for a couple of franchises earlier, including Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals, and ahead of the 2026 auction, was expected to make some noise at the auction table, given his recent T20 form. They also strengthened their bowling after picking up New Zealand seamer Matt Henry and Indian leggie Rahul Chahar. Not only this, but ahead of this auction, Chennai also pulled off a master trade, bringing in keeper-batter Sanju Samson (from Rajasthan Royals for INR 18 crore) for their veteran Ravindra Jadeja and English all-rounder Sam Curran. The former five-time champions have completed their quota of 25 players ahead of the 19th edition, starting on March 26 next year. Former Indian mystery spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has shared his thoughts on Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson opening for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming Indian Premier League season. CSK acquired Samson via a trade with Rajasthan Royals (RR), sending Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran in exchange. With Samson joining the squad, he is expected to open the batting with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Recently, Ashwin said he would be excited to watch them start the innings together because both have strong but different batting qualities. “There is pedigree with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson. Pedigree means you making quality runs and sustaining that for a period of time. We must not forget that. For me, I would love to see both of them go hammer and tongs at the opening slot. The IPL 2026 retention list—featuring the players kept and released by all ten Indian Premier League franchises ahead of the upcoming auction—was formally unveiled on Saturday (November 15). Punjab Kings held on to the largest squad, retaining 21 players, while Kolkata Knight Riders kept the fewest, with just 12.
Ashwin retires from IPL
“Special day and hence a special beginning. They say every ending will have a new start, my time as an IPL cricketer comes to a close today, but my time as an explorer of the game around various leagues begins today. Would like to thank all the franchisees for all the wonderful memories and relationships over the years and most importantly the @IPL and the @BCCI for what they have given me until now. Look forward to enjoying and making the most of what’s ahead of me,” Ashwin wrote on his X handle. Ashwin, who returned to CSK for IPL 2025 after a nine-year absence, was linked with a move away from the franchise as reports emerged of his possible trade. However, those speculations came to an end on Wednesday with Ashwin announcing his retirement from the IPL. He goes down as one of the best IPL players, having won the title in back-to-back years in 2010 and 2011 while also bagging 187 wickets in 221 matches. ALSO READ | Asia Cup 2025: All you need to know - full squads, complete fixtures, date, time, venue and other key details Ashwin occupied a significant portion of the salary and price after returning to CSK in the auction. CSK, MI and...: 5 teams to finish in top two most times in IPL history

CSK stand-in captain MS Dhoni addressed his future after CSK’s last IPL 2025 game on Sunday (May 25). Beating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 83 runs in Ahmedabad, CSK finished their already-shallow season with four wins and eight points from 14 contested matches, sitting in the tenth position. However, like every season for a long time, Dhoni answered questions about his cricket career, which is now in the twilight stage. The 43-year-old cricket veteran endured a challenging time with the bat this season, scoring just 195 runs from 13 outings at a strike rate of 135.17. Although his team hit its highest total this season, whacking a magnificent 230 for five in its last league match, Dhoni did not bat, with the contribution coming from the top order. When asked about his IPL future, Dhoni said, as always, it depends on several factors, including his fitness, his hunger and his contribution to his team’s success. Dhoni said he would not hurry to decide his future, adding he has plenty of time on his hands to conclude. "It depends. Again, I would say would say the same thing: I have four-five months to decide, there's no hurry to decide what needs to be done," Dhoni said at the post-match presser. "Every year, it's 15% more effort to keep the body fit, not to forget this is top-level cricket. It's professional cricket - you have to be at your best - and it's not always performance that you can count, because if cricketers start retiring because of performance, then a few of them will retire when they're 22. "What is important to see if how much hunger you have, what kind of fitness you have, and how much you can contribute to the team, and whether the team needs you or not. So I have enough time. I will go back to Ranchi - haven't been home for a long time - enjoy a few bike rides, [take a] couple of months and then decide,” Dhoni continued. Meanwhile, keeping everyone hanging around for a clear answer, he said, "I'm not saying I'm done, I'm not saying I'm coming back. As I said, I have the luxury of time. When you have the luxury, then why not think about it and then decide?"
‘Good to finish on a good note’
CSK began this season with a thumping win over Mumbai Indians, but how life and cricket had it, they failed to win beyond four matches, while MI qualified for IPL 2025 playoffs, even fighting for a top-two finish now. Despite the results, including CSK’s last game, Dhoni said, “We didn't have a very good season, but good to finish on a good note,” Dhoni said. "I think this was one of the perfect performances - from the bowling department, batting department, not to forget, the fielding and catching. Throughout the season, I don't think we have caught very well, so this was one game where the catching was also good," he added.

Gujarat Titans (GT) suffered its biggest defeat by runs in IPL history, losing to Chennai Super Kings by 83 runs on Sunday (May 25) in Ahmedabad. This loss dents their chances of confirming a top-two finish, as Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) could finish above GT should they win their last league games, respectively. For CSK, they just won their fourth match this season, finishing tenth on the points table. Chennai won the toss and elected to bat first. CSK’s retention plans revealed: Dhoni is right at the top, but other four might shock you

Young Vaibhav Suryavanshi top-scored with a delightful 57 as Rajasthan Royals signed off from IPL 2025 with a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday. The result also means that CSK will now finish IPL 2025 at the bottom of the points table, unless they beat table-toppers Gujarat Titans by a big margin on Sunday. After pacers Akash Madhwal and Yudhvir Singh Charak picked three-fers each to help RR restrict CSK to 187/8, Suryavanshi delighted everyone with his four boundaries and as many sixes to help RR complete the chase with 17 balls to spare, and bury their ghosts of faltering chases in the season. Yashasvi Jaiswal began RR’s chase with a gloved four off Khaleel Ahmed, before lofting Anshul Kamboj over cover-point for six. But after the ball stopped swinging, Jaiswal took Ahmed to cleaners via his cuts and lofts fetching him three fours and a six. But Jaiswal fell for 36 when he went across the line against a good length ball from Kamboj and lost his off-stump. Sanju Samson and Vaibhav Suryavanshi were exquisite in their loft and leaning drive off Ahmed and Kamboj respectively, as RR ended power-play at 56/1. While Samson lofted Ravichandran Ashwin for a down the ground six, Suryavanshi thumped Noor Ahmad off backfoot for six, before muscling him for two boundaries, as 17 runs came off eighth over. There was no stopping Suryavanshi as he thwacked Ravindra Jadeja for two sixes over long-on fence, before reaching his fifty by whacking Noor for six. After Samson slammed Matheesha Pathirana for two boundaries, he was foxed by a carrom ball from Ashwin and holed out to long-on. Four balls later, Ashwin stuck again as Suryavanshi mistimed his hoick to backward point and fall for 57 off 33 balls. Despite Ahmad’s quicker googly castling Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel swept him for four, apart from pulling and paddling Jadeja for six and four respectively, and heaving Ashwin for a maximum. Shimron Hetmyer smacked Ashwin for a six and four, before Jurel fittingly hit the winning maximum by smacking Pathirana over mid-wicket, and sign off from IPL 2025 on a high. Earlier in the innings, pacers Akash Madhwal and Yudhvir Singh Charak picked three-fers each to help Rajasthan Royals (RR) restrict Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to 187/8 in their 20 overs. While Yudhvir, coming in for Fazalhaq Farooqi, rocked in the power-play to pick 3-47, Madhwal nailed yorkers at will and used some reverse swing at the back end to end with 3-29. After giving away only 17 runs in last three overs, RR will need to chase down 188 to avoid finishing at the bottom of the points table. For CSK, Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis hit 43 and 42 respectively, as they posted a competitive total after being reduced to 78/5 in 7.4 overs. The majorly yellow jersey wearing crowd were dejected early on when Devon Conway chipped to mid-off off Yudhvir, while Kwena Maphaka timed his back-pedal from mid-on to perfection to take Urvil Patel’s catch, giving the pacer his second wicket of the over. The teenaged Mhatre delighted CSK-supporting fans by pulling and lofting Tushar Deshpande for a brace of boundaries, before Ravichandran Ashwin glanced and then flicked Yudhvir beautifully off the front foot for four and six respectively. Mhatre capitalised on the free hit by backing away to pull Yudhvir for six, before slashing him through cover for four, as 24 runs came off fourth over. The introduction of Maphaka didn’t change matters as Mhatre slashed and lofted him for a brace of boundaries. He took a liking to Deshpande’s pace by swiping, pulling and upper-cutting him for a hat-trick of fours. But in a bid to hit Deshpande down the ground, Mhatre didn’t time the loft and was caught by diving long-on, as his 56-run stand with Ashwin came to an end. CSK again lost wickets in quick succession as Ashwin lofted to deep mid-wicket off Wanindu Hasaranga, while Ravindra Jadeja flicked uppishly to short mid-wicket and become Yudhvir’s third scalp. Brevis wowed the Delhi crowd via four jaw-dropping boundaries – with his flat pulled six off Riyan Parag and lofting Yudhvir for a maximum with a bottom-handed whip being the standouts. RR eventually dried the runs towards Brevis, and that resulted in him losing his off-stump to Madhwal. With Shivam Dube hammering four boundaries, including two sixes off Hasaranga, and crowd favourite MS Dhoni hammering a six down the ground off the leg-spinner, CSK managed to touch 180. But RR squeezed the run flow from 18th over – resulting in Dube and Dhoni falling to Madhwal in the final over – as 17 runs came off the last three overs. Disclaimer: This story has been published from a news agency feed with minimal edits to adhere to WION's style guide. Big matches, bigger totals: Top 6 team scores in IPL playoff history

The BCCI and IPL franchises have started mounting pressure on overseas boards to have their players return to play the IPL's resumption on May 17.
The BCCI's leadership has directed IPL COO Hemang Amin to personally approach the likes of Cricket Australia and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in order to mitigate the fears that the players might have about returning to India.
All the 10 teams are having several back and forth discussions with their foreign players in regards to their plans of arrival in India a day after the IPL declared the new schedule after requisite security clearances from the government.
The IPL was put on hold on May 9 due to rising India-Pakistan tensions
"We have been speaking to the foreign boards individually while teams are directly dealing with their players. We expect majority of them to return," a BCCI official told PTI on Tuesday.
CA has left it in the hands of the players to make their decision and in situations like these, the players' association has something to say.
Team officials, however, informed PTI that some of the foreign players are still eager to return but most of them should return prior to the resumption of the tournament.
"The revised scheduled was announced last night. We have just started contacting our foreign players over their availability. We will have a clearer picture by tomorrow morning. Anyway our game is on May 20. We have enough time," said CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan.
CSK foreign players are Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Sam Curran, Jamie Overton, Noor Ahmad and Matheesha Pathirana.

Stoinis unlikely to return; Cummins set to fly back

At Punjab Kings, Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and fellow countryman Josh Inglis won't be returning to India although head coach Ricky Ponting is doing his level best to persuade them.
Aussie countrymen Xavier Bartlett and Aaron Hardie and Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai and South African Marco Jansen will return.
"The foreign players were scared at that time and understandably so. The BCCI showed the safety of the players is paramount by ensuring they all got back home safely. Now the situation has got better, the players should return. However, some of them still remain on the edge," said an IPL official.
Like Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad too are out of the tournament but the franchise is hopeful that captain Pat Cummins and Travis Head will be back for the last three league matches. "We are hopeful that most of foreign players will be back including the captain," a team official said.
Delhi Capitals, who are still in the race for a top-four position, spoke to their foreign players on Tuesday morning and are expecting to hear back from them. Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc is one of DC's star players.
"We hope that all of them come back. We will get to know about it by tomorrow," replied a team official.
The IPL final on May 25 has been rescheduled to June 3.

India great Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not rush into a decision about retirement when the Indian Premier League (IPL) ends this month, saying he will listen to his body as his 44th birthday approaches.

Chennai are bottom of the IPL and out of the playoffs, leaving Dhoni -- who last played for India in 2019 -- potentially two games away from the end of a glittering career.
"After this IPL is over I have to work hard for another six to eight months to see if my body can take this pressure," Dhoni, whose birthday is in July, told reporters.
"Nothing to decide now."
The 2011 World Cup winning captain was the biggest draw for the Kolkata crowd, who gave the veteran a huge ovation on what could have been his final appearance at the famous Eden Gardens stadium.
"The love and affection I have seen is excellent. A lot of them don't know when it is going to be my last time," the wicketkeeper said.
"So they want to come and see me play."

IPL 2025: CSK captain MS Dhoni says 'nothing to decide now' over retirement plans

As defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) gear up to face off against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday (7 Mays) in the City of Joy, an unexpected challenge surrounds the clash - the weather of Kolkata.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued forecasts that could disrupt the crucial fixture for KKR at Eden Gardens. After a partly cloudy Monday (6 May) with moderate rain and thunderstorms in Kolkata, Tuesday’s (7 May) forecast isn’t any brighter. A thunderstorm with lightning is expected during the day, which might very well wash out the match.
For KKR, this isn't just another league-stage game. With five wins, five losses, and one no-result so far, they sit sixth on the points table. A rain-affected match that ends in no result would distrubute both teams one point each, taking KKR to 12 points with just two games left to play affecting their IPL 2025 playoffs scenario.

Even if they win both remaining matches, KKR would finish with a maximum of 16 points. While 16 is usually enough to squeeze into the playoffs, however this time their fate won’t be entirely in their own hands.

KKR would need help from GT, DC and LSG

To qualify, they’ll need help from other teams. Gujarat Titans (GT) must lose all of their remaining matches. Delhi Capitals (DC), currently competing for a spot, should lose at least two of their last three games. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) must drop at least one of their next three fixtures.
Only if this chain of scenarios happen in KKR’s favour, they just might seal their spot in the playoffs.
Elsewhere, CSK although officially out of playoff contention will look to play party spoilers. With nothing to lose and Dhoni likely playing one of his final IPL games, the yellow army may go all out against KKR.
As fans eagerly await the result, all eyes will be on the rain gods that could decide the fate of KKR's chance in the IPL 2025 playoffs.

IPL 2025: Rain threat looms over KKR vs CSK clash at Eden Gardens

Royal Challengers Bengaluru carried forward their unstoppable run in the current season of the IPL with a two-run win against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday (May 3). Opting to bat first, RCB posted 213/5 in 20 overs.
Subsequently, CSK nearly crossed the boundary but bowler Yash Dayal kept aside 15 runs in the 20th over and created an unforgettable win for RCB. Other than this exciting incident, the game also witnessed an interesting moment when CSK captain MS Dhoni took the bat gauge from the on-field umpire's hand.

The incident took place in the 17th over of CSK's chase when Dhoni walked-in to bat after Lungi Ngidi's dismissal. As Dhoni came in, the umpire took out the gauge but the CSK skipper's bat failed the test. Seeing this, MS Dhoni took the gauge and measured the bat by himself.
Although the gauge did not pass through Dhoni's bat cleanly, he still got a nod from the on-field umpire to continue.

Why umpires are checking the bats?

The rules are meant to bolster BCCI policies aimed at curbing player advantages in this highly competitive batting environment. Now, the BCCI has given power to the match officials to inspect on-the-spot any bat which they feel is necessary, which is a major shift from past seasons where such scrutiny took place in the team’s dressing rooms.

What are the rules on bat sizes?

According to ICC guidelines, certain parameters with regards to measurements need to be followed. The width of the bat face should not be more than 4.25 inches (10.79 cm) and the middle of the bat (thickness) should not exceed 2.64 inches (6.7 cm).
Furthermore, edge width must not be more than 1.56 inches (4 cm) and the total height of the bat from the handle down to the base cannot be more than 38 inches (96.4 cm).
There has been no official word from the BCCI regarding whether any violation of bat dimension contradictions have led to these random checks.
The consequences of bat dimensions in regards to modern cricket today is actually severe considering that even a poor shot has the potential to sail a long way into the stands of the stadium. This IPL season has already recorded 525 sixes struck in 29 matches, which is a new record, with Nicholas Pooran leading the charge with 31 of those.

IPL 2025: 'Go on, hit me for a six', Jasprit Bumrah's 'motivational challenge' to ex-CSK player with fiery words-WATCH

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) opener Virat Kohli hit a half-century against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as RCB registered a thrilling two-run win on Saturday in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Kohli displayed his aggressive nature from the first ball itself, and sent out a message by smashing CSK fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed for consecutive sixes in the third over of the match. It also enabled Kohli to complete his pre-match prophecy, as he had warned Khaleel during an altercation from the first time these two sides met.
On March 28, during the first encounter between CSK and RCB in IPL 2025, bowler Khaleel Ahmed had begun celebrating the wicket of Virat Kohli despite the latter not having been given out.

Subsequent to that, Kohli had apparently jokingly warned the pacer that he would give him the treatment on the field the next time they see each other.
"Ab tu aa (You come once again)," Kohli had said to Khaleel, implying that he would not give the pacer a free pass the next time they encounter each other.

Kohli's performance on Saturday ensured that his prophecy came true. The 36-year-old clobbered Khaleel for two consecutive sixes to finish off the third over of RCB's innings.

A day to forget for Khaleel

It was a day to forget for Khaleel. In his two overs in the powerplay, he was slammed for 32 runs by Kohli and Jacob Bethell. However, his misery was compiled at the end when RCB finisher Romario Shepherd smashed 33 runs off him, to complete the most expensive over in IPL 2025.
Khaleel was smashed for two sixes and two boundaries in the over by Shepherd, who went on to hit the joint-second-fastest half-century in IPL history, courtesy his 14-ball 53.

Shepherd's innings saw RCB go past the 200-run mark, and ensured that they posted a total of 213/5 in 20 overs. The total proved sufficient as CSK fell just short by two runs.
Khaleel has enjoyed a good season despite his team's poor form, taking 14 wickets in 11 matches. RCB have won six away games in IPL 2025, and have now won two on the trot at home at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

"Ab tu aa (You come once again)," Kohli had said to Khaleel, implying that he would not give the pacer a free pass the next time they encounter each other. The total proved sufficient as CSK fell just short by two runs. Khaleel has enjoyed a good season despite his team's poor form, taking 14 wickets in 11 matches. A year after leading Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their third IPL title, Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer is now earning praise from head coach Ricky Ponting for his calmness, maturity, and improved game awareness. The duo, who previously worked together at Delhi Capitals (DC), have reunited at PBKS and are aiming for another playoffs spot this season.
Speaking after Punjab's win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday (Apr 30) at Chepauk, Ponting highlighted Iyer’s evolution. “He’s a lot more confident now. That belief comes with experience,” Ponting said. “He understands the game better than ever and is calm in pressure situations, a key trait in T20s.”

Iyer plans wicket of MS Dhoni

That calmness was seen when Iyer brought Yuzvendra Chahal to bowl at MS Dhoni, who doesn’t have a great record against leg-spinners in the IPL. In the 19th over of CSK’s innings, Dhoni hit Chahal for a six over long-on, but on the very next ball, he mistimed a shot and was caught at long-off for 11. Chahal then capitalised on Dhoni's wicket, completing a hat-trick and turning the game in Punjab's favour.
Iyer also led from the front with the bat, scoring a captain’s knock of 72 off 41 balls. He picked up pace from 28 off 23 to reach his half-century in just 32 balls. Ponting was full of praise: “He’s mature, he communicates well with the team, and everyone enjoys working with him. He wanted to finish the game himself, but it was still a top innings.”
Iyer has also worked on a long-time weakness against the short ball. Once uncomfortable, he now confidently pulls and hooks. Ponting credited his self-made improvement: “He’s opened up his stance, sees the ball better, and is accessing those deliveries more easily. It’s all his own work.”
Former India coach Ravi Shastri also noticed the change, pointing out Iyer’s upright stance and better back-and-across movement, which have helped expand his shot range.
With three games left in Dharamsala, a venue where PBKS haven’t won in two seasons, Ponting remains hopeful. “It’s our home ground. We had a good pre-season camp there. I think we’ll do well.”
PBKS, currently second on the points table, are set to face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Dharamsala on 04th, 08th and 11th May respectively. Shreyas and his team will look to win these games and aim for a top-two finish in the IPL 2025 playoffs.
