Cardi B seemingly reacts to the Dalai Lama viral video: 'The world is full of predators'

<p>Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B recently visited an NYPD 'Girls Talk' event at the police training academy in Queens and revealed&nbsp;"her rags to riches story". She spoke to some girls in a police mentorship programme last&nbsp;Friday as part of an "eye-opening and emotional week performing court-mandated community service".</p>

<p>Cardi's plea deal required her to perform 15 days of community service till March 1st to avoid a 15-day prison sentence for her role in some brawls at New York City strip clubs in 2018.</p>

<p>The 30-year-old told her young audience, "I feel like there are so many people that make y’all probably feel like, ‘This is what’s cool, this is what’s going on, this is what it takes to be lit, this is what it takes to be fire’."</p>

<p>She added, "Sometimes that’s a little bit of peer pressure like on a girl. Don’t fall into that. You know what I’m saying? Like, be great. Be you. You’re amazing. You’re dope yourself."</p>

<p>In September last year, Cardi B agreed to a conditional discharge just as her case was about to go to trial. She pleaded guilty to two misdemeanour charges stemming from the August 2018 fights. Ten other counts, including two felonies, were dismissed. Two co-defendants also pleaded guilty.</p>

<p>In an official statement at the time, Cardi B said, "Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions. As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instil in my children, but the example starts with me. I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to. These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now."</p>

<p>According to prosecutors, Cardi B and her entourage had targetted employees of Angels Strip Club in Flushing, Queens, over an alleged personal dispute. In one of the fights, a bartender and an employee sustained minor injuries as chairs, bottles and hookah pipes were thrown.</p>

Cardi B feels 'hopeless' trying to make husband Offset happy post Takeoff's death

<p>Italian artist AleXsandro Palombo, who is known for transforming 'The Simpsons' in his art, recently vowed to take legal action against Cardi B for recreating his work for Halloween. He claimed that the 'WAP' rapper was never authorised to use or recreate his art for her October 31 Instagram post, in which she is dressed as Marge Simpson in a cutout outfit that exposed her butt cleavage.</p>

<p>Palombo's claims come days after Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, did not mention the contemporary pop artist&nbsp;in her post but used a picture of his art. However, she did mention French designer Thierry Mugler, the designer whose dress inspired Palombo's work.</p>

<p>In an Instagram post, Palombo wrote that he contacted Cardi B but he did not receive a reply. "We wrote to Mrs Cardi B and collaborators how come that they never contacted us for authorisation to use the artwork and didn't mentioned or credit the artist, violating Meta policy about intellectual property rights. Still no answer (sic)," he wrote.</p>

<p>The cover of 'Gangsta Bit*h Music, Vol. 1'&nbsp;did not violate plaintiff Kevin Michael Brophy’s publicity or privacy rights by depicting an altered photo of another man with Brophy’s unique back tattoo performing oral sex on the popular rapper, the Santa Ana jury found after a four-day trial and an afternoon of deliberations.</p>

<p>Brophy’s 2017 lawsuit sought at least $5 million in damages from Cardi B and her ex-manager Klenord Raphael, as well as an order blocking her from using his likeness.</p>

<p>Brophy’s attorney Barry Cappello of Cappello &amp; Noel said in an email to Reuters that Cardi B and Raphael were “gracious winners” and shook hands with Brophy after the verdict.</p>

<p>“If this chapter can close, it may be best for the Brophy family’s ability to put this behind them,” Cappello said.</p>

<p>Rapper and songwriter Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, better known by her stage name Cardi B, has pleaded guilty in a Queens court&nbsp;to assault charges in relation to a 2018 scrap at a New York strip club.&nbsp;She was set to stand trial in the case but chose to accept a plea deal that would allow her to avoid imprisonment. She has been charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, while 10 other charges against her were dropped.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Her sentence includes 15 days of community service and an order to stay away from the women she was involved with. She also has to pay their court fees. The two charges will be dropped after Cardi B finishes her community service. She has to complete the service by 2023 and the failure to do so will result in her jail time.</p>
