The 22-year-old has often been compared with former Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis with many believing his action is quite similar to that of the Pakistan pace legend. However, Umran recently revealed he has never followed Waqar and that his pace-bowling idols are three Indian pacers.

“I have not followed Waqar Younis. I have a natural action. My idols include (Jasprit) Bumrah, (Mohammed) Shami and Bhuvneshwar (Kumar) bhai. I used to follow them when I was playing while coming through the ranks,” Umran said during Indian Express Idea Exchange.

While Tripathi is likely to open the batting with Williamson, Sundar will strengthen the middle-order.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has struggled to find his form for India for quite a while now as his rough patch continues in international cricket. In the ongoing ODI series between India and South Africa, Bhuvneshwar has remained wicket-less in the first two matches and has been taken for plenty of runs by the South African batters.

The senior pacer's form is concerning for the Indian team as he has been failing to pick wickets at regular intervals in white-ball cricket and is no more the death-over specialist that he used to be during his peak years for India. Bhuvneshwar has so far bowled 18 overs in the first two matches against South Africa and has conceded 131 runs without taking a wicket.

After losing the series-opener of the three-match ODI series by 31 runs, India lost the must-win second ODI against South Africa by 7 wickets on Saturday to go 2-0 down and concede the series. Speaking about India's disappointing show in the series so far, the legendary Sunil Gavaskar said India need to tweak their bowling attack in white-ball cricket going forward.

Gavaskar has urged the Indian team to look beyond Bhuvneshwar despite his experience and wants the management to back someone like Deepak Chahar, who can take the senior pacer's spot in the squad. Former India pacer Ajit Agarkar feels India should not keep Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the playing XI for the much-awaited clash against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021. India will open their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021 with a blockbuster encounter against their arch-rivals in Dubai on October 24.

Ahead of the game, Agarkar gave his take on what should be India's ideal combination in the playing XI. With Hardik Pandya unlikely to bowl, Agarkar believes captain Virat Kohli will like to go into the game with at least six bowling options to choose from. Pandya did not bowl in the entire second leg of IPL 2021 and is expected to play as a pure batter if he makes the cut in the playing XI.
