She hailed coach Saqlain Mushtaq for "empowering" the players while also lauding former Australian cricketer Mathew Hayden and South Africa Vernon Philander, who are working with the team for the tournament.

"A lot of the credit goes to the players who are working so hard and that is the platform that they have used to achieve what they are right now. But I think Saqlain Mushtaq also deserves a lot of praise for the work he is doing.

"Matthew Hayden and Vernon Philander have of course been a big influence and Ramiz Raja has given extra responsibility to Babar Azam as captain. When the captain has that responsibility, they feel confident making decisions. It is the same for the players."

Mir feels the players are playing with freedom which has also led to the good show.

"There are of course more factors in their success, but there is a freedom in this team for the players to express themselves. The environment is great for the players to succeed."

Having chased in their first three matches, skipper Babar opted to bat first in the 45-run win over Namibia on Tuesday.

"I was pleased to see Pakistan decide to bat first against Namibia to give themselves a bigger challenge.

"Regardless of the opposition, it is not easy to bat in those conditions, but they did very well and now they are in a great position to top the group and avoid England, who are playing some great cricket, in the semi-final."

The right-handed batsman hit an unbeaten 68, anchoring the chase to register a 10-wicket win over the Virat Kohli &amp; Co., but his thoughts were with his mother, who was placed on life support after surgery.&nbsp;

Babar's father issued a lengthy note on his Instagram account, saying&nbsp;that his son played all three World Cup games "in severe distress".

"Babar played all three matches in severe distress. I don't want to come here. It was supposed to be, but I came so that Babar may not get weak. It is the grace of God that he is fine now," he said.&nbsp;

"The purpose of sharing is to not criticize our national heroes without any reason. And yes, I know, if I don't get paradise. If you get a position, you have to give exams too. Long live Pakistan," he added.&nbsp;

Ahead of Pakistan-Afghanistan's clash in the T20 WC 2021, Rashid Khan urged fans to maintain decorum and not make a scene this time around. He told PTI, "After the 2019 World Cup match, whatever happened shouldn’t have happened. But this is the kind of request to all the fans, whatever there is that comes at the end, at the end of the day this game gives lots of unity to the nations and brings them together, not to have those kinds of accidents.

“Definitely it’s always a good game against Pakistan, even when we played in the 2018 in Asia (Cup). And also in terms of the 2019 World Cup. But this game should remain as a game. In a video shared by the Twitter handle of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Pakistan skipper reminded his teammates that the historic victory over Team India was due to their collective effort. In addition, he urged them to not get overexcited or carried away.

"Look guys, this win was not a result of any individual performance. We gave a complete team performance and we do not have to let go of this. This is just a start, enjoy it, but do not get over-excited after beating India. We need to look ahead and our focus is to win the T20 World Cup.
