According to news agency PTI, PCB is currently seeking tournament hosting fees, which comes around to $250,000 despite only hosting four games during the tournament. “The additional money is for expenses incurred on renting chartered flights for teams between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and other extra expenses like additional hotel and transport fees, which were not included in the initial budget for the Asia Cup.” A total of four chartered flights were arranged during the tournament as PCB roped in a Sri Lankan firm named Classic Travel, for a sum of $281,000. However, ACC has made it clear that it will not pay PCB anything more than the hosting right fee and shares from ticketing and sponsorships - triggering a sharp response from the Pakistani board. Pakistan to miss out on Champions Trophy? After missing out on hosting duties for the Asia Cup, Pakistan is on the brink of hosting rights of 2025 Champions Trophy as well, due to India and BCCI's stance of not sending their team to the country. A PTI report claimed that PCB chief Zaka Ashraf and COO Salman Naseer met the ICC executive board in Ahmedabad to discuss uncertainty surrounding the venue of the 2025 Champions Trophy. "They keep giving me more responsibilities, which shows that they believe and trust in my abilities. It gives me a lot of confidence and I also enjoy taking responsibility. It makes life and playing cricket a lot more fun,” he said.

Siraj would end with figures of 13/6 as he recorded the third-best bowling figures for India after Stuart Binny (4/6) and Anil Kumble (12/6). His exploits were coupled with Hardik Pandya’s three wickets as he too joined the party for team India.

With Sri Lanka recording their lowest total in the continental tournament, India needed just 6.1 overs to win the contest and clinched their record Asia Cup title. Shubman Gill scored 27 off 19 while surprise opener Ishan Kishan scored 23 runs as India recorded a 10-wicket win.

<h2>What next for India?</h2>

The Men in Blue will now take on Australia in a three-match ODI series that will start on Friday, September 22. The Indian team will face the men from down under before the ODI World Cup while England will also be on the itinerary when in the warm-up game on Saturday, September 30. The hosts will target a third ODI World Cup with home advantage a key factor. India won the ODI World Cup in 2011 when they last hosted the tournament.
