Premier League: Man City provide injury update on Eric Garcia after horrific collision with Ederson
Manchester City defender Eric Garcia suffered a horror clash with goalkeeper Ederson during the match against Arsenal in Premier League and the youngster was stretchered off the field. The 19-year-old Spaniard was further taken to a hospital for further tests following which the club has provided an update regarding Garcia’s health.
Man City players including Ederson looked extremely worried when Garcia was lying flat on the field following the collision as medical staff rushed to attend the youngster. He was subbed off and took no further part in the match.
The good news is Garcia has been discharged from the hospital and met his teammates at the City Football Academy on Thursday morning as Ederson and Aymeric Laporte provided updates on social media.
“Eric was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary Hospital after the game as a precaution for further tests. He will be monitored in the coming days, ahead of a return to training and competitive action. Everyone at Manchester City wishes Eric a speedy recovery,” read a statement from Man City.

Garcia chased a long ball by Bernd Leno and was involved in a tussle with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before Ederson flew out of the penalty box to punch the ball away. Caught unaware of Ederson rushing in, the defender barged with the Brazilian goalkeeper.
The medical staff needed almost 10 minutes taking care of transferring the young Spaniard to a stretcher before taking him off the field.
