Seize the Grey won the Preakness 2024 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, USA on Saturday (May 18) and shattered the Kentucky Derby 2024 winner Mystik Dan's quest to win the Triple Crown. No horse has been able to win the Triple Crown, that is, Kentucky Derby, Preakness and he Belmont Stakes in the same year since 2018 when Justify won it all.
The Seize the Grey, however, had to fight a late push from Mystik Dan to win the 1.9-kilometre long race on a wet and muddy track. Have a look at the video below:
Seize the Grey's trainer D. Wayne Lukas also became the oldest trainer to win the Preakness at 88 years old. It was his seventh Preakness win of his career. The horse, owned by 2,570 people, is one of the largest ownership groups in sports.

The total purse for the Preakness 2024 is around $2 million out of which winner Seize the Grey takes home $1.2 million while the second-placed Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan won $400,000.
