NZ all out on 255 in second innings, India need 359 runs to win Pune Test
Ravindra Jadeja sparked a comeback for the Indian Team early on day three of the Pune Test by picking three wickets and contributing to a run-out, dismissing New Zealand on 255 inside the first session. While Ravichandran Ashwin and Jadeja picked seven wickets combined, Sundar topped the chart with four in the second innings and 11 overall in this match.
India needs 359 runs to win the second Test and level the three-match series 1-1.
Starting day three with five wickets in hand, New Zealand would have wanted to pile on the lead but failed to do so. Shortly after the proceedings began, India broke the stand, with Jadeja accounting for keeper-batter Tom Blundell, bowled on 41.
New Zealand's first-inning hero, Mitchell Santner, couldn’t replicate his heroics with the bat, as Jadeja picked him up on just four, caught by Jasprit Bumrah. Ravichandran Ashwin removed pace leader Tim Southee caught at the first slip on a duck, breaking New Zealand’s momentum.
Standing at the other end, Glenn Phillips upped the ante with some attacking shots, closing in on his fifty, but couldn’t reach there, as Ajaz Patel and William ORourke departed early. Though Ajaz foundSundar at deep mid-wicket, ORourke got run out, for which he is to be blamed.

One down in this Test series, India has everything to play for, and they began the chase with the same intent. Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed the first six of the game on the second delivery, whacking another one for a four.
India captain Rohit Sharma did the same off his first ball, pulling one to deep square leg for a boundary, with India showing signs of hunting this target. Their brief attacking spell ended soon after, with Santner returning to haunt the Indians.
He dismissed Rohit, caught at the short leg on just eight to dent India’s momentum.
