NBA superstar LeBron James has decided to stay on with the Los Angeles Lakers in a two-year, $104 million deal. The deal, reported by news outlet ESPN, also has a player option for 2025-26 season and a no-trade clause as well.
With the deal, LeBron becomes only the second player in the league to have no-trade clause alongside Phoenix Suns' Bradley Beal.
The upcoming season will be 22nd for LeBron in league and the player option gives him flexibility to decided on his future ahead of the 2025-26 season.

James is considered as one of the greatest players to have played the league. He's the only one to cross 40,000 points and is third all time in free throws, fourth all time in assists and eighth in steals as well as three-points made.
The Lakers superstar also has the most All-NBA (20) and first-team All-NBA (13) selections. It was in last season that he made his record-breaking 20th All-Star team too.
Come postseason, LeBron leads NBA in points scored, fourth in rebounds, first in steals, second in assists, first in free throws made, third in 3-pionters and 10th in blocks.
LeBron's deal, however, puts the Lakers above the second apron salary limit of the league which is 188.931 million. LeBron's agent Rich Paul, who's also the CEO of Klutch Sports, however, is in plan to discuss a possibility of taking a million less to keep the Lakers below the maximum limit of second apron, reported ESPN.
In the upcoming season, LeBron will joining his son Bronny Jr., who was picked at 55th overall in the latest NBA Draft by the Lakers. LeBron and Bronny would be the first father-son duo in the history of the league to play at the same time. Bronny Jr's contract with the Lakers is still in works.
