Match 38 of the IPL 2024 edition saw the one-time winners Rajasthan Royals (RR) continue their dominating run by beating Mumbai Indians (MI) by nine wickets in pursuit of 180 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on Monday (April 22). While rain also made its presence felt, the match was hardly affected by it as table-toppers Rajasthan earned their seventh win of the season, in eight games, courtesy of Sandeep Sharma's 5 for 18 and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal 104 not out. After the match, Jaiswal thanked senior Indian players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Jaiswal didn't have a great start to IPL 2024, with a best of 39 before he finally returned to form versus Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai. Thus, he thankedRohit and Kohli for their words of wisdom during his lean phase, while also acknowledging the support of RR captain Samson and coach Kumar Sangakkara.

In an interview with the IPL website, Jaiswal said, "It's incredible and I am enjoying it. Initially, it was tough for me but that's how cricket is. I guess you have to go through ups and downs and learn. I want to thank all my seniors Virat bhaiya and Rohit bhaiya and especially Sanga sir and Sanju bhai, the way they have been talking to me. It's incredible to go through these phases and still enjoy the game."
He further added, "It is important the effort that I have been putting in my practice sessions. In my mind I want to play with good intent and help my team."
