Hyderabad's bowlers collapsed Rajasthan's batting order to restrict the side to 125 runs after 20 overs.
Siddarth Kaul and Shakib Al Hasan both took two wickets each.
Hasan dismissed Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi at 49 and 17 runs respectively.
Samson fell just one-run short of his half-century and is also the highest scorer in the entire squad.
Shreyas Gopal and Rahul Tripathi somehow managed to take RR's score to 100.
Meanwhile, leg-spinner Rashid Khan took just one wicket and gave away 23 runs in four overs.
Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first and like always they have managed a pressure on the opponent team.
They will now have to chase the score of 126 runs using their best batting line-up Kane Williamson, Shikhar Dhawan, Yusuf Pathan, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda and others.
