At least 30 Navy personnel infected with coronavirus in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Navy locked down a facility on Friday after 30 of its personnel tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The Navy, in a statement, said that upon confirmation of a personnel from Polonnaruwa getting infected with COVID-19 while on leave, other personnel who were sharing the same mess and working at the same office were tested.
Nearly 4,000, which includes Naval personnel and their families, live in the Welisara Naval Complex, which has been locked down after the confirmation of 30 cases.
Sri Lanka Navy also said some individuals, who have close links with the infected personnel and were on leave, were identified and brought back to the naval base.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka would lift the nationwide curfew on Monday, police said as the total number of COVID-19 cases surged past 400, including seven deaths.
The highest single-day rise in the number of infections was reported on Friday with 49 new cases, including 30 personnel from Navy.
The island nation has been under a 24-hour curfew since March 20 to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
