Immediately after receiving the information a UP Police team, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), fire brigade and dog squad were sent to the spot, who conducted a thorough investigation of the schools.
The police said that there was nothing to worry about, as after investigation, the situation was found to be normal in all the schools, and in many schools, classes were resumed after a few hours.
The police appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumours and maintain patience.
Later in the day, a 14-year-old boy was apprehended for allegedly sending the bomb threat as he did not want to attend school.
He told the police that he got the idea after reading about the bomb threats in various schools across the country.
According to the police, the boy had done a lot of research on the topic online before drafting the email.
The Class 9 boy was booked under the sections of the IT Act at the Sector 126 police station in Noida.
In a similar case, on January 10, a Class 12 student, who sent bomb threat emails to 23 schools earlier was detained from Delhi. The minor's detention comes after a police probe into bomb threats found his role in the crime.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he did not want to appear for examinations. The boy sent bomb threat emails to many schools, barring his educational institution.
The string of bomb threats in the past few weeks, which later turned out to be hoaxes, had sent police into a tizzy.

In a stock exchange filing, the online food aggregator said that when we acquired Blinkit, we started using &ldquo;Eternal&rdquo; (instead of Zomato) internally to distinguish between the company and the brand/app.
&ldquo;We also thought that we would publicly rename the company to Eternal, the day something beyond Zomato became a significant driver of our future. Today, with Blinkit, I feel we are there,&rdquo; said Deependra Goyal, Co-founder of Zomato.

Meanwhile, the online food delivery giant clocked a 57 per cent decline in net profit (year-on-year) at Rs 59 crore in Q3 from Rs 176 crore in the same period last fiscal.
However, the company's revenue from operations increased by 64 per cent to Rs 5,404 crore in the latest quarter earnings announced on January 20.

"We are the fifth largest economy in the world and soon we will become 'Vishwa Guru'. As 'Vishwa Guru', our citizens are being shackled in chains when countries like Colombia, which doesn't even figure in the top 10, can send an aircraft and bring their citizens back with dignity. What stops our government from sending an aircraft? We don't have a shortage of it," said Gokhale in Parliament.&nbsp;

Taking into consideration the past instances, the opposition questioned as to why the flights were not arranged for the Indian nationals this time.
"How did the US military plane land on Indian soil? Why were our citizens brought in handcuffs?" Mr Singh asked in Parliament.&nbsp;

<h2>'Engaging with US to ensure deportees are not mistreated,' says Jaishankar</h2>
Jaishankar, on Thursday (Feb 6), said that it is the obligation of all the countries to take their nationals back if they are found to be residing illegally.
He said that the government is ensuring that the returning deportees are not mistreated.
"We are of course engaging the US government to ensure the returning deportees are not mistreated in any manner during the flight," he said.
"At the same time the House will appreciate that our focus should be on strong crackdown on the illegal migration industry, while taking steps to ease visas for the legitimate travellers," Jaishankar added. &nbsp;
The External Affairs Minister stated that all embassies and ambassadors have been instructed to ensure students' safety.
"Depending on the situation, we have been very sympathetic, very responsive, all embassies and all ambassadors have been told to take a special interest in the welfare of the students... I want to assure that the welfare of students is something very close to the government's heart. Every embassy today is very proactive in that regard," Jaishankar said.

Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla voiced his concerns, saying, &ldquo;The way they were brought in was wrong. They were humiliated. Their hands and feet were chained. When our government already knew that they were going to be deported, then they should have sent a commercial flight to bring them back.&rdquo;&nbsp;
&ldquo;They went there illegally, but they did not commit any huge crime after going there... We have given a notice to the Speaker and there may be a discussion on this,&rdquo; Aujla further stated.

A suspicious speeding civil truck was spotted and When it was asked to stop, the truck didn't stop despite repeated warnings instead accelerated further while crossing the check post.''
According to the Indian Army, the soldiers pursued the vehicle for over 23 km but the driver didn't stop and the army men were forced to fire bullets aiming at tyres to deflate them which forced the vehicle to halt at Sangrama Chowk. Following a detailed search, the injured driver was immediately evacuated to GMC Baramulla by Security Forces where he was declared dead.

The fully loaded truck has been sent to the nearest police station. Detailed search of the truck in police custody is underway. According to Police sources, the deceased has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Majeed Mir, a resident of Goripora Bomai, Sopore.
''FIR has been registered in PS Baramulla. The truck has been moved to the nearest police station for thorough search. Postmortem proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the cause of death. We urge the public to maintain peace and refrain from spreading rumours or misinformation regarding this incident, '' said Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The police said that a thorough investigation is underway, and all updates will be communicated through official channels. Any attempt to disrupt public order or spread false information will be dealt with strictly.

A MiG-29 fighter jet crashed into a field near Uttar Pradesh's Agra in November 2024, during a routine training sortie due to a technical glitch. The pilot ejected himself to safety at the time of the crash.
When the incident happend, the plane had taken off from Adampur in Punjab and was on its way to Agra for an exercise.

The pilot manoeuvred the aircraft to ensure no damage to life or property on the ground, before ejecting safely. An inquiry has been ordered by the IAF to ascertain the cause of the accident", the Air Force had said in a statement.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, on Thursday (Feb 6), said that it is the obligation of all the countries to take their nationals back if they are found to be residing illegally.
He said that the government is ensuring that the returning deportees are not mistreated.
"We are of course engaging the US government to ensure the returning deportees are not mistreated in any manner during the flight," he said.
"At the same time the House will appreciate that our focus should be on strong crackdown on the illegal migration industry, while taking steps to ease visas for the legitimate travellers," Jaishankar added. &nbsp;&nbsp;
The External Affairs Minister stated that all embassies and ambassadors have been instructed to ensure students' safety.
"Depending on the situation, we have been very sympathetic, very responsive, all embassies and all ambassadors have been told to take a special interest in the welfare of the students... I want to assure that the welfare of students is something very close to the government's heart. Every embassy today is very proactive in that regard," Jaishankar said.
He then said that the process of deportation is not a new one.
"The standard operating procedure for deportation by aircraft provides for the use of restraints. However, we have been informed that women and children are not restrained," he said.
"Further need of deportees during transit related to food and other necessities, including possible medical emergencies, are attended to. During toilet breaks deportees are temporarily unrestrained if needed. This is applicable to chartered civilian aircraft as well as military aircraft," he said.
"There has been no change from past procedures for the flight undertaken by the US on Feb 5, 2025," he added.

Jaishankar further said that the Indian government was closely monitoring the welfare of Indian students across the world, especially in regions that are affected by tensions or violence.
He further highlighted that the "welfare of students is something very close to the government's heart."
"The government carefully monitors welfare of Indian students and alerts them in case of possibility of violence. If needed, the government remains prepared to run flights," said Jaishankar in Rajya Sabha.
"The government carefully monitors the numbers of students in all foreign countries. We also carefully monitor their welfare. Wherever there is a situation of tension or likelihood of violence, we alert students as we have done in Ukraine. Where there is a requirement for us to take any further steps, like running a flight for rescue, we are prepared, we always have contingency plans," he added.

However, over the past 38 years, the operational environment has undergone a fundamental transformation. Theatre-wide realignments, the emergence of Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), and the rebalancing of forces towards the Northern Borders have significantly altered the nature of battlefield requirements. The Army&rsquo;s combat doctrine has evolved to demand integrated aviation capabilities that extend beyond outdated 1986-era policies.
Today, Army Aviation operates a diverse fleet&mdash;including Chetak, Cheetah, Cheetal, Dhruv (ALH), Rudra (ALH-WSI), and Prachand (LCH)&mdash;in multiple roles. Recognizing the Army&rsquo;s increasing proficiency in rotary-wing operations, the Government of India (GoI) transferred ownership of AHs to the Army in 2012. Third, battlefield dynamics demand terrain-independent helicopter forces to enable swift manoeuvrability and firepower across India&rsquo;s Northern and Western frontiers. In Punjab and Rajasthan, the layered obstacle systems and dense built-up areas constrain traditional mechanised formations. Similarly, in the Himalayan terrain, the need for rapid troop movement across valleys necessitates integral attack helicopters and airlift capabilities under Army control.
Given these factors, the operational necessity for integrating all battlefield aviation assets under Army Aviation is clear. The reluctance to transition these assets stems not from operational logic but from inter-service considerations, including turf protection and institutional resistance to change.
<h2>Lessons from Global Militaries</h2>

The Johnson-McConnell Agreement (1966) finally settled the issue, with the US Army retaining rotary-wing assets while the US Air Force (USAF) controlled fixed-wing aircraft. ● &nbsp; &nbsp;France: The French military resolved its inter-service aviation dispute by transferring all rotary-wing assets to the Army while the Air Force retained control of fixed-wing aircraft. This eliminated operational conflicts and improved battlefield responsiveness. ● &nbsp; &nbsp;China (PLA) and Pakistan Army: Unlike the IA, both the PLA and Pakistan Army operate fully integrated combat aviation forces, including MLH and AHs. The Indian Navy took control of its fixed-wing assets in 1976, and Army Aviation was granted AH ownership in 2012&mdash;both over IAF objections. The resistance to transferring MLH follows the same pattern, but operational imperatives must take precedence over inter-service turf battles.
<h2>The Way Forward: A Phased Transition of Helicopter Assets</h2>
To achieve operational effectiveness, the transfer of helicopters to the Indian Army must be executed in a phased manner.
In the immediate term, the Indian Army must assume command and control of MLH (Mi-17) and AHs while the IAF continues to operate them from their bases. This would ensure that Army field commanders directly oversee their deployment without procedural delays. Additionally, Army Aviation Brigades must be designated as the primary command units for all aviation operations within the Tactical Battle Area (TBA).
Over the medium term, the Indian Army should develop a dedicated training and logistics ecosystem for MLH, ensuring the seamless absorption of these assets. All IAF-operated helicopters assigned to Army operations should be integrated into Army Corps-level planning cycles to facilitate operational synergy.
In the long run, the Indian Army should assume full ownership of all rotary-wing assets required for Army operations. The IAF may retain limited helicopters for long-range strategic and specialised missions, but primary battlefield aviation responsibilities should rest with the Army. A collaborative framework must be established to ensure interoperability in airspace management, logistics, and joint mission execution.
This approach would eliminate bureaucratic inefficiencies and streamline command structures, enhance operational flexibility, and align Indian military aviation with global best practices.
<h2>A Critical Operational Imperative</h2>
The case for the Indian Army&rsquo;s full ownership of its battlefield aviation assets is clear and urgent. The delay in restructuring aviation command structures could prove costly, especially in an era where air mobility, rapid response, and precision strike capabilities are critical to combat success.

As the voting was underway, AAP alleged that "Amit Shah's Delhi Police was trying to hijack the elections."&nbsp;
"People themselves are telling how Delhi Police is forcibly making people vote in favour of BJP at Sainik Vihar polling station, Shakur Basti," it said in an X post. "The people of Delhi are watching everything and are responding to the conspiracies of BJP by voting in large numbers."
Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari slammed AAP, saying that they made Delhi "sick". "They looted Delhi. Now we will do work. Now Delhi is going to give us the opportunity."
