On April 17, the special CBI court transferred the case to the magistrate court, ruling that charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act could not be sustained since no public servant was named in the charge sheet. Two days later, the magistrate issued the NBW against Choksi, who was recently detained in Belgium.
Choksi, already facing extradition proceedings in other cases related to the Punjab National Bank fraud, remains a wanted fugitive in India.

But you also have intangibles. And now we have the Bhagavad Gita in the Memory of the World Register, and we saw that your Prime Minister was very proud about it. But we need to bring all of the other aspects of UNESCO to the very same knowledge, to the very same closeness to people, but also to the very same impact. And these are education, these are science, and these are, for example, how to deal with artificial intelligence. That is my strength, because I have been working on that. My strategy has 3 I- inclusiveness, innovation and impact, to make the three pillars of UNESCO, Culture, Education and Science much more important in our development path, and also to make UNESCO, of course, more effective and more useful for all of you.

But I think that India has done something very important, and we have done it together, because in the G20 they were able to negotiate, and have a very important outcome, the need to have a culture as a sustainable development goal for the next edition of the goals, but also as a public good. Meaning for your audience, that culture should not be only in the museum. Should not only be in the theaters. It has to be part of the development agenda. It has to be included in our economic plans, in our touristic plans, all these beauty that you have in India in terms of the sites for them to become part of touristic promotion, or creative economies, or linking all the intangibles, the dances, the music, the folklore, with the cultural sites, that will be very important. But then it's not only about that. Is about a world that is facing the fast pace technological disruption with artificial intelligence. We need to see how we incorporate these technologies that are disrupting everywhere and everything to make sure that they deliver better outcomes for people. And remember that UNESCO is also the house of the ethics, ethics of science and technology, and we will be looking into these issues, along with our dear partners in India. And it happens to be that India is also very strong on digital transformation, on ICT, on artificial intelligence. In a significant gesture of spiritual diplomacy, India will send a sacred relic of the Buddha from Sarnath to Vietnam for exposition coinciding with the Vesak, marking the first such journey to the Southeast Asian nation. Organised by India&rsquo;s Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), the event shows the deep cultural and spiritual connect between the two countries, rooted in the shared heritage of Buddhism. Millions of devotees are expected to pay homage during the 20-day exposition.
The relic, excavated from Nagarjuna Konda in Andhra Pradesh and enshrined at Mulagandha Kuti Vihara in Sarnath, arrived at the National Museum in New Delhi on April 30, amidst prayers and chants. Abhijit Halder, Director General, International Buddhist Confederation, Vietnam Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai and Sri Lanka's acting high commissioner Priyanga Wickramasinghe were present when the sacred relics arrived. Housed in a protected enclosure, it will be open for meditation and veneration by Buddhist followers, including diplomats from Buddhist nations.

Shartse Khensur Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, will accompany the relic and participate in Vesak celebrations. "He has been very welcomed in this environment. One of the things we've tried to do is to just make him feel like he's integrated well into this environment. So, even after the auction, we had quite a few, three or four camps, short-duration camps nearly every month leading into this tournament. Vaibhav was there in every one of those camps, getting to know the players, getting to know the support staff, getting to know the coaches," said Dravid.
"By the time he came to the IPL, we wanted him to go and have met nearly each and every one of the players. Of course, not the four foreign players because he was meeting them for the first time. But certainly, all the Indian players he had met, he had known, he had met all the coaches, he had met all the admin support staff, everyone."
"So, I think around the system, we were very clear that we wanted him to feel comfortable by the time he came here. I'm sure he's having conversations and he's learning from each and every one of those guys, whether it's Jaiswal or whether it's Parag or whether it's Jurel or Sanju. The family described their ordeal, saying that they reached the top of meadows after a tough, muddy hour-long horse ride, where they spent some time sightseeing and were about to go for the adventure activity zone.&nbsp;
However, their son Siddhant felt hungry and insisted on stopping to eat first.&nbsp;
"Around 1:45 pm, we thought of going there. But my son said he was hungry. We tried to convince him that we could eat before leaving. But he was adamant. So we headed towards the makeshift food stalls. We ordered Maggi," Pradeep told NDTV.&nbsp;

"Initially, we did not realise what was happening. Then we lay down. At this point, my wife thought of getting my bag, which was on the table. Our IDs and phones were in it. She got up to take the bag and felt something go past her right ear. It was a bullet," Pradeep said.
Shubha then realised that the IDs and phones were left on the table, but she instinctively got up to grab the bag. In that moment as she leaned forward to take the bag, a bullet whizzed past her right ear, grazing her hair.&nbsp;
"Something touched my hair," Shubha recalled. "I didn&rsquo;t realise it was a bullet at first, but the force made me turn &mdash; I saw it had hit the floor. God saved me."
Pradeep said that he didn't realise at that time that it was a terrorist attack, but recalled that someone shouted and asked people to run.&nbsp;
"I was 100 per cent sure we were going to die," Pradeep said. "But my wife just kept saying &lsquo;Nothing will happen&rsquo;. That confidence, I think, kept us going."

Hailing from Kikkeri village in Karnataka&rsquo;s Mandya district, tech entrepreneur Harshavardhana Kikkeri studied in Mysuru and the US, reported Deccan Herald. He completed his master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and had worked with Microsoft, specialising in robotics.

In 2022, the family went back to the US. Kikkeri gained recognition for creating HoloSuit &ndash; an AI enabled full body motion capture suit which acts as a virtual trainer for your body.

Khemka was born in Kolkata on April 30, 1965. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur (1988), a PhD in Computer Science from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), and an MBA in Business Administration and Finance.
During his tenure, he also completed his LLB from Panjab University.

Vaishnaw also slammed the Congress and the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) parties for using the caste census as a political tool.
&ldquo;Congress governments have always opposed caste census. Caste was not included in all the census operations conducted since Independence. In 2010, then Prime Minister late Manmohan Singh ji had assured the Lok Sabha that the matter of caste census should be considered in the Cabinet. A Group of Ministers was formed to consider this subject. Most of the political parties had recommended caste census. Despite this, Congress government decided to conduct merely a survey of caste instead of a caste census. That survey is known as SECC.,&rdquo; he said.

Some States have conducted surveys to enumerate caste, some States have done this while some others have conducted such surveys purely from a political angle in a non-transparent way,&rdquo; the minister added.
Vaishnaw explained, &ldquo;Such surveys have created doubts in the society. Considering all these facts, and to ensure that our social fabric is not disturbed by politics, caste enumeration should be transparently included in the Census instead of surveys. This will strengthen the social and economic structure of our society, while the nation continues to progress.&rdquo;

"The Modi government, committed to social justice, has taken a historic decision today," Home Minister Amit Shah said in an X post in Hindi.
"In the CCPA meeting held today under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, a message of strong commitment towards social equality and rights of every section has been given by deciding to include caste census in the upcoming census," he added.

‘Committed to the values’: Centre announces caste enumeration to be part of next Census

The Director Generals of Military Operations of India and Pakistan spoke over the hotline on Tuesday (Apr 29), to address escalating tensions along the Line of Control (LoC).
The discussion, according to the defence sources, was centred on Pakistan's unprovoked ceasefire violations along the LoC.
The Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked small-arms firing from its posts across the Line of Control in multiple sectors of Jammu and Kashmir during the night of April 29-30. The Indian Army responded swiftly and proportionately to the aggression, according to official reports.
The Indian army released a statement saying that Pakistani forces targeted Indian positions in the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors in the Jammu region. Later updates confirmed that similar ceasefire violations were also recorded further north in Baramulla and Kupwara districts, as well as across the International Border (IB) in the Pargwal sector.
"During the night of 29-30 April, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small-arms fire across the Line of Control opposite the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors. Indian Army troops responded swiftly and proportionately," the Army stated.
This comes amid escalating tensions between the two nations following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. &nbsp;

He further said that he had gone horse riding in Pahalgam on April 21 and had stopped at a "Maggi stall" for food when a man approached him and asked him if he was a Hindu.&nbsp;

The attacker also told Raut that he doesn't look like a Kashmiri, PTI reported.&nbsp;
&ldquo;The suspect then turned to his companion and said, &lsquo;There&rsquo;s less crowd today,&rdquo; Raut added.
He said that he found the conversation quite disturbing, however, it didn't scare or startle him until the April 22 attack, that killed at least 27 people, mostly tourists.&nbsp;
Raut further said that he got to know about the attacker after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) released the sketches of the terrorists.&nbsp;

&ldquo;After I saw the sketches released by the NIA (National Investigation Agency), I connected the dots,&rdquo; he claimed.&nbsp;
He said that then he emailed the NIA a detailed account of his experience in Kashmir.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I have written everything I could remember. I have also mentioned that I could not initially pay the Maggi stall owner due to network issues. I took his phone number and paid him once I came down from the hill,&rdquo; he said.
However, Raut has not received any response from the NIA. "I&rsquo;ll cooperate with them in every possible way if they reach out to me,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;
