In a post on X, CM Dhami said instructions were given to provide proper treatment to the injured and also refer them to higher centers if needed."The news of the bus accident near Dharasu Nalupani on Gangotri Highway is very sad. The district administration and SDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue work. Immediate medical assistance is being provided to the injured and instructions have been given to refer them to higher centers if needed. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of all the injured passengers," he said.According to the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), 41 passengers were travelling in the bus when it overturned"Today, on 23rd May, in Uttarkashi district, at around 10:00 am, Dharasu police station informed SDRF post Chinyalisaur that a bus has met with an accident near Dharasu Band. On receiving the information, the SDRF team immediately left for the spot under the leadership of Sub Inspector Manish Bhakuni. According to preliminary information, the said vehicle (bus) went out of control and overturned on the road. A total of 41 people were travelling in the bus. SDRF and district police force carried out quick rescue operations and evacuated all the passengers safely from the bus," the SDRF said in a statement. It also mentioned that several people sustained minor injuries in the incident and were sent to hospital for treatment. WION can not independently verify the authenticity of the video&nbsp;The Haveri gang rape&nbsp;In January last year, a young Muslim woman from the state alleged gang rape against seven men who attacked her and her interfaith partner after forcibly entering their hotel room.&nbsp;The seven men thrashed the Muslim woman and the Hindu man -a 40-year-old Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) driver, and took the woman to a wooded area near Nalkuru Cross of Hangal.&nbsp;There, the seven men allegedly subjected her to sexual assault.&nbsp;Later, the police based on the detailed statement of the survivor filed a case against the accused under charges of gang-rape. In total, 19 arrests were made, including that of the seven prime accused.&nbsp;Twelve of the accused were released on bail after facing trial in the court. The remaining seven, considered the primary suspects were repeatedly denied bail until the recent court order after the survivor failed to positively identify them.

One of our Brave hearts sustained grievous injuries in the exchange of fire and has succumbed despite the best medical efforts. Operation is in progress.” The deceased jawan is identified as Sep Gaykar Sandip Pandurang.&nbsp;"The encounter began in the early hours after security forces established contact with terrorists in the Chhatru area. The Jammu and Kashmir Police also confirmed the exchange of fire in the area. "Exchange of fire started between Security Forces and terrorists in the Singhpora area of Chhatru in Kishtwar," the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a brief statement.&nbsp;Earlier, Army officials confirmed that additional troops have been deployed to the region to support the ongoing counter-terrorism operation, which aims to neutralise the hiding militants. Security forces have cordoned off the area and intensified search operations, with reinforcements ensuring that containment protocols are maintained. Further details on the number of terrorists involved and the current status of the operation are awaited.&nbsp;Earlier on May 16, VK Birdi, Inspector General of Police for Kashmir Zone, said that six terrorists were neutralised in Jammu and Kashmir under two separate operations in Kelar, Shopian and Tral conducted by the Indian Army in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).&nbsp;"In the wake of heightened terror activities in Kashmir Valley, all the security forces deployed here reviewed their strategies. These two operations were conducted in the Kelar in Shopian and Tral areas, which resulted in the neutralisation of a total of six terrorists. We are committed to finishing the terror ecosystem in Kashmir Valley," the IGP Kashmir said.Following the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people, including a Nepali national, were killed, the Indian forces have intensified their operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Trump and his allies have claimed that there is a "genocide" targeting white farmers in South Africa, The government in Pretoria has dismissed these claims, pointing out that most victims of crime in the country were black.
