A day after veteran leader Yashwant Sinha announced his exit from the Bhartiya Janata Party, a BJP leader said that Sinha was expecting a higher position for his son in the ministry.

He said " I think he ( Yashwant Sinha) was expecting a higher position after his son was made a Minister. When his wishes were not fulfilled he started badmouthing the party".

Further hitting out at Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha he also said that the leaders had become arrogant after the party gave them " too much importance".

Yashwant Sinha hadannounced his exit from the party on Saturday.

After hisexit, the BJP said that the party was not surprised by his exit as his recent comments made it clear that he was no longer in the organisation and was acting as the congress' behest.

The 80 year old veteran leader announced his exit from the Bhartiya Janata Party on Saturday from Patna.

He was heading the finance and external affairs portfolio in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. After Narendra Modi and Amit Shah came to power the leader was not given any important portfolio.

Sinha had earlier criticised the Finance Minister by saying "mess the finance minister has made of the economy". He also called the demonetisation move of the Centre as an " unmitigated economic disaster" and the Goods and Services Tax as " badly conceived and poorly implemented". He had also criticised the Centre's handling of the Kashmir issue.
