
Prime Minister Narendra Modi began a two-day trip to his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on Monday, 17 September.
This is the first time the PM will be spending his birthday in Varanasi since the NDA came to power in May 2014.
Born on September 17, 1950, Narendra Damodardas Modi was born to a Gujarati family in Vadanagar, Gujarat.
PM Modi was introduced to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at the tender age of eight when he used to help his father with selling tea and later on had a tea-stall of his own to support his family.
