Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday announced the adoption of Joint Action Plan with Sweden.
The strategic innovation partnership with Sweden aims to strengthen cybersecurity and work on smart cities, energy and transportation.
While addressing the press Swedishprime ministerStefan Löfven praised theIndiangovernment forits"strongfocus on innovation" andsaid thatit was a key toIndia's progress and prosperity.
"I would like to commend the Indian government and its strong focus on innovation as a key to progress and prosperity,"Swedish PM Stefan Löfven said.
Prime Minister Modi while emphasising that his first visit to Sweden is the first visit by an Indian prime minister to Sweden in 30 years said that Sweden has been a strong contributor to "Make in India".
He said "Sweden has been a strong contributor to our " Make in India" program. Swedish PM Löfven had led a big delegation to the Mumbai summit in 2016.
PM Modi is the first Indian prime minister to visit Sweden in 30 years after the late PM Rajiv Gandhi visited thecountry in 1988.
