Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Lok Sabha Election

Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Lok Sabha Election Schedule and Date: Voting in Jammu and Kashmir is being held infive phases. The fourphases took place on April 19, April 26, May13 and May 25.

Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency of J&K is votingon May 25 in the sixth phase. The poll panel had revised the date of polling from May 7 to May 25 after it received representations for shifting the poll date.

The Union Territory has seen enthusiastic turnout in the earlier phases.

Anantnag-Rajouri is seeingkeenbattle between People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti, Mian Altaf of the National Conference, and Zafar Iqbal Manhas of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared the voting dates and the announcement of results for the upcoming Lok Sabha 2024 election on March 16 of all constituencies, including polls in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 2024 Lok Sabha polls are the first major election in J&K after the abrogation of Article 370.

The term of the 17th Lok Sabha is due to expire on June 16, 2024.

The poll body has made comprehensive preparations to conduct the 18th Lok Sabha elections in a "free, fair, participative, accessible, inclusive, transparent and peaceful manner".

What are the details of notification andfiling nominations in all five constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir?

The notification for the Udhampur seat was issued on March 20 while March 27 was the last date for filing nominations. The last date for withdrawal of candidature was March 30.

The notification was issued on March 28. The last date for filing nominations was April 4. The last date for withdrawal of candidature was April 8.

Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency of Jammu and Kashmir will also vote tomorrow. The poll panel had revised the date of polling from May 7 to May 25.

I.N.D.I. Alliance:
Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party (JKPDP) and Indian National Congress (INC).

JKNC is led by Omar Abdullah. JKPDP is led by Mehbooba Mufti. In J&K, INC is led by Gulam Ahmed Mir.

NDA:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

J&K Third Front:
Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), and Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference (JKPC).

DPAP is led by Ghulam Nabi Azad, JKAP is Altaf Bukhari's party, and JKPC is led by Sajjad Lone.
