
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday addressed the Indian diaspora in Malta, news agency ANI reported.
After completing his engagements in Siberia, Vice President Naidu arrived in Malta on Sunday, where he will hold discussions with the Maltese leadership on Monday. He is also scheduled to participate in the India-Malta Business Forum meeting.
Vice President Naidu invited the Indian community in Malta to visit the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in New Delhi. He went on to say that the High Commission in Malta, which opened last year, is a step to connect with the Indian diaspora.
"Wherever Indian community has gone in the world, they've prospered, integrated well with societies and also brought name and fame to their motherland India," Naidu said in an interaction with members of the Indian community in Malta's Floriana
"I'm happy to inform you that Indians are welcoming reforms. Reforms will initially affect some people and you've to stand in a queue before bank for your own money. All these efforts are being made to unearth black money, which will really improve the economy and the image of the nation," the Vice President added.
He described India as a health destination adding that "the largest and most ambitious health care programme has been launched because of the 'Ayushman Bharat' programme.
"National Health Protection Mission announced in the union budget that the Prime Minister wants to cover 100 million families," he noted.
