Contribute to India's growth: Prime Minister Modi tells diaspora in Sri Lanka

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the Indian diaspora to contribute to India's growth and said the country`s image had changed a lot in the last few years.

 Modi was addressing the Indian community in Sri Lanka at India House in Colombo during his one-day state visit to the island nation.

''Today India’s position in the world is getting stronger and a large part of that credit goes to the Indian diaspora. Wherever I go, I'm told about the successes and accomplishments of the Indian diaspora,'' Modi said during his address.

Modi said that he was happy that the Indian community overseas and the Government of India were on the same page when it came to several issues. 

The Prime Minister also vowed to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of every Indian. 

Modi greeted the people of Indian diaspora after his address at India House in Colombo.

Earlier, Modi met Tamil National Alliance (TNA) delegation in Colombo.
