Under Trial prisoner (UT) number 670. That is the identity of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi's Tihar jail. The chief minister of the Indian capital has been allowed five regular visitors, including his two children, as well as three books of his choice, including the holy books Ramayana and Gita.

The Aam Aadmi Party chief has been lodged in a cell measuring 14 feet x 8 feet in Tihar's jail number 2. Kejriwal will stay in ward number 3 of jail number 2, reports have said.

"Five visitors — Kejriwal’s wife, daughter, son, private secretary Bibhav Kumar, and Rajya Sabha MP and AAP’s national general secretary (organisation) Sandeep Pathak — have been mentioned in the visitors’ register for regular visits," a source was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Kejriwal was sent to his cell on Monday (April 1). He was given a kit which contained some essential items of daily use apart from the copies of books that he had asked for. Notably, Arvind Kejriwal asked for the book 'How Prime Ministers Decide' by journalist Neerja Chowdhury.

A Times of India report noted that while the belongings of jail inmates are confiscated upon arrival, Kejriwal was allowed to retain a locket he had requested the court for.

The jail authorities will also take special precautions as far as Delhi's chief minister's health is concerned.

Doctors and medical staff will be available around the clock to address any emergencies.

Kejriwal's cell has a Television set. Upon arrival, he was given a sheet, a pillow and a blanket as well as two buckets and a jug as required under the jail manual.

A Times of India report claimed that the Tihar administration opened a bank account for Kejriwal upon arrival. His family, the report added, can deposit money in it for him to buy things from the jail canteen, including biscuits, salad, toothbrush, toothpaste and fruits.
