The Golden Globes have indeed followed the Oscars' lead, effectively drawing a "human-only" line for acting and writing categories. The AI-generated actors will not be eligible for consideration.

Performances by AI-generated actors will not be eligible for Golden Globe awards, organisers said Thursday, days after they were also ruled out of Oscars contention. The new guidelines will not automatically disqualify performances that have used artificial intelligence to enhance an actor, but require that a live human be the main element. "Submissions in which a performance is substantially generated or created by artificial intelligence are not eligible" for consideration in the annual film and television prize-giving extravaganza, which kicks off Hollywood's awards season, organisers said. "The use of AI for technical or cosmetic enhancements (such as de-ageing, ageing, or visual modifications) may be permissible, provided the underlying performance remains that of the credited individual and AI does not replace or materially alter the performer's work." The new rules come days after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said it was cracking down on the use of AI. The body that doles out the Oscars said only real human performers — not their AI avatars — are eligible for the film world's biggest prizes, and a person, not a chatbot, must have written screenplays. The use of artificial intelligence remains one of the most sensitive issues in the entertainment industry and was central to the 2023 strikes that shut down Hollywood, as actors and writers warned that unchecked technology threatened their livelihoods. The new restrictions come after an AI version of the late Val Kilmer was unveiled to an audience of movie theatre owners, a year after the "Top Gun" star's death. A youthful, digital version of Kilmer appeared in the trailer for archaeological action pic "As Deep as the Grave," telling another character: "Don't fear the dead and don't fear me." The project was created with the enthusiastic support of the actor's family, who granted access to Kilmer's video archives, which were used to recreate the actor at multiple stages of his life.

<p>As media mogul Ted Turner passed away at the age of 87, his former wife and actress Jane Fonda paid a warm tribute to him. Turner was the founder of CNN and a pioneering personality in the field of global television news. Fonda took to her Instagram page to write a tribute for her ex husband and called him ‘larger-than-life’.&nbsp;</p><h2>‘I’ve never been the same’</h2><p>In an emotional statement, Fonda described Turner as a “gloriously handsome, deeply romantic, swashbuckling pirate”, adding that she had “never been the same” after he entered her life.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>She wrote, “He swept into my life, a gloriously handsome, deeply romantic, swashbuckling pirate and I’ve never been the same. He needed me. No one had ever let me know they needed me, and this wasn’t your average human being that needed me, this was the creator of CNN, and Turner Classic Movies, who had won the America’s Cup as the world’s greatest sailor. He had a big life, a brilliant mind and a soaring sense of humor.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>She added, “He could also take care of me. That was new as well. To be needed and cared for simultaneously is transformative. Ted Turner helped me believe in myself. He gave me confidence. I think I did the same for him, but that’s what women are raised to do. Men like Ted aren’t supposed to express need and vulnerability. That was Ted’s greatest strength, I believe.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Fonda and Turner were married from 1991 to 2001. Despite their divorce, the actor often spoke warmly about him in later years, and even referring to him as her “favourite ex-husband”.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/photos/-bigger-than-two-us-states-the-secret-reason-ted-turner-bought-2-million-acres-1778103033985"><strong>The secret reason Ted Turner bought 2 million acres</strong></a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>She mentioned, “I loved Ted with all my heart. I see him in heaven now with all the wildlife he helped bring back from extinction – the black footed ferrets, the prairie dogs, Big Horned sheep, Mexican Gray Wolf, the Yellowstone wolf pack, bison, the red cockaded woodpecker and so many more, they’re all gathered at the pearly gates applauding and thanking him for saving their species. Five children survive him, five talented, complex kids who I had the privilege of becoming stepmother to. I had four stepmothers growing up and I know how important stepmothers can be, so we all did our best to build an extended, rag tag family, and I love them to this day. If it was complicated to be married to him, think how complicated it was being his child. And they are all doing fine.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>She concluded the note with, “Rest in Peace, dearest Ted. You are loved and you will be remembered.”</p>

Fonda’s activism and film legacy and Turner’s towering influence in media and business made for a heady concoction.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Beyond their personal relationship, Fonda praised Turner’s extraordinary accomplishments, from creating CNN and Turner Classic Movies to becoming a celebrated sailor and philanthropist.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Veteran actress Jane Fonda paid a warm tribute to former husband and media mogul Ted Turner as he passed away at the age of 87. Turner and Fonda were married from 1991 to 2001 and remained friends even after their divorce.

As media mogul Ted Turner passed away at the age of 87, his former wife and actress Jane Fonda paid a warm tribute to him. Turner was the founder of CNN and a pioneering personality in the field of global television news. Fonda took to her Instagram page to write a tribute for her ex husband and called him ‘larger-than-life’. ‘I’ve never been the same’ In an emotional statement, Fonda described Turner as a “gloriously handsome, deeply romantic, swashbuckling pirate”, adding that she had “never been the same” after he entered her life. She wrote, “He swept into my life, a gloriously handsome, deeply romantic, swashbuckling pirate and I’ve never been the same. He needed me. No one had ever let me know they needed me, and this wasn’t your average human being that needed me, this was the creator of CNN, and Turner Classic Movies, who had won the America’s Cup as the world’s greatest sailor. He had a big life, a brilliant mind and a soaring sense of humor.” She added, “He could also take care of me. That was new as well. To be needed and cared for simultaneously is transformative. Ted Turner helped me believe in myself. He gave me confidence. I think I did the same for him, but that’s what women are raised to do. Men like Ted aren’t supposed to express need and vulnerability. That was Ted’s greatest strength, I believe.” Fonda and Turner were married from 1991 to 2001. Despite their divorce, the actor often spoke warmly about him in later years, and even referring to him as her “favourite ex-husband”. Also read: The secret reason Ted Turner bought 2 million acres She mentioned, “I loved Ted with all my heart. And they are all doing fine.” She concluded the note with, “Rest in Peace, dearest Ted. You are loved and you will be remembered.”

A diploma in fashion design followed, and she made her way to becoming one of the most promising designers of Bengal in the late 1990s-early 2000s. Taking Bengal art to the ramp When she showcased her work at Lakme Fashion Week in 2007, she walked the ramp for the final bow with two artisan women, who had worked on her collection that showcased Bengal’s traditional handwork of Kantha. Her designs on the ramp in the subsequent years were always rooted in Bengal craftsmanship. Also read: Who will be new CM of West Bengal? Suvendu Adhikari could be the best bet for BJP - Here’s why Paul’s work and popularity took her to Bollywood as well, and she designed for stars like Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborty. She even designed costumes for films like Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe and Via Darjeeling. Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been gifted shawls and blankets designed by Paul. She had been running her own fashion label, "Inga", since 1997, which started small and later became a brand to reckon with in Kolkata, before making her foray into politics. Married to Partho Paul, an entrepreneur whose family owns Palson Drugs & Chemical Industries, Agnimitra Paul is the mother of two boys. Rise in the BJP Agnimitra Paul’s rise, particularly in the 2026 state election, is being seen as the BJP’s big wild card. No one would have seen her gaining such importance in such a short span of time. She is one of the most recognisable faces of the party in Bengal. In seven years of being part of the party, Paul’s rise in the party is perhaps the fastest in BJP history. From being part of the Mahila Morcha, Paul is now part of the BJP’s inner circle. In her TED Talk, she had mentioned that having achieved success in fashion, she wanted to give back to society and make women in Bengal villages more self-reliant. And that's exactly what she did. Branding herself as ‘Daughter of the soil’, she built an emotional bond with the masses that turned Asansol into a fortress for the BJP. 23 criminal cases against Paul According to her election affidavit, the 51-year-old Paul is currently facing 23 criminal cases related to various charges, including unlawful assembly, violent protests, rioting, disobedience of lawful orders, and actions allegedly intended to disturb public order, the report noted. The cases also reportedly include accusations of promoting enmity and hostility between different groups. However, she has not been convicted in any of these cases. Next CM of Bengal? Agnimitra Paul is not the only candidate for the CM’s post this election season. Suvendu Adhikari and Swapan Dasgupta are also in the running for the post along with Paul, but if she is chosen for Bengal’s highest office, she will be the first from the fashion fraternity to reach such a height in Indian politics and thus create history.

<p>Well-known fashion designer Agnimitra Paul is one of the top contenders for the Chief Minister's post in West Bengal this year. Paul won the Asansol Dakshin constituency on a BJP ticket. Her rise in the party in a short span of time has been meteoric.&nbsp;</p>
