Robert Downey Jr aka Iron Man has something to say on filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s remark on Avengers films not being cinema.

Martin Scorsese commented that he doesn’t see these movies as cinema as he said, "I don’t see them. I tried, you know? But that’s not cinema. Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks."

Shaken from this, Robert Downey Jr who played Iron Man in MCU said, “According to Scorsese, it’s not cinema. I gotta take a look at that,” and added, “I mean, it plays in theatres. I appreciate his opinion. I think it’s like anything where we need all of the different perspectives so we can come to the center and move on."

He added, “It`s his opinion. I mean it plays in theatres. I appreciate his opinion because I think it`s like anything. We need all of the different perspectives so we can come to the centre and move on."

The actor isn’t the only one to respond on Martin Scorsese’s statement as Samuel L Jackson too hit back.

Robert Downey got talking about the issue as he taped for ‘The Howard Stern Show live’ in Los Angeles. The actor also learned on the show that the director’s feelings and a few others’ resonated within the industry because of which RDJ was not nominated for his role as Tony Stark in so many films. To this, he responded, "I`m so glad you brought this up because there was some talk about it, and I said `let`s not` and because I`m much more like you than you might really want to believe.”

He further told Stern, "I listen to the show and I agree with most all of your opinions, varied though they may be. Occasionally, you’ll go on some tributary trail of thought [and] I`ll go like, `Oh that`s not how I see it, but I love that you see it that way.’ I`ll tell you the truth. I didn't expect [the Marvel Cinematic Universe] to become what it became, and it is this very large, multi-headed Hydra at this point.”
