Kevin Costner confirms departure from Yellowstone: 'Not be able to continue...'
The Dutton drama will continue this summer with 'Yellowstone' Season 5's return.
Actor Kevin Costner has waved goodbye to his role and the show Yellowstone. The Oscar-winning actor has confirmed that he will not reprise his role as John Dutton in the final episodes of the Emmy-winning show. The heartbreaking news was shared by Costner himself.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Costner shared a video, informing his millions of fans that he will not be returning in the second part of season 5.
Kevin Costner's Departure From Yellowstone
In the clip, Costner shared his next focus is on the Western film series Horizon: An American Saga. The actor says,'' I just, want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that that’s required.”
He added, “Thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love. I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue, season five or into the future.”
Saying that Yellowstone “was something that really changed me,” Costner added, “I loved it and I know you loved it, and I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning. I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop, and I’ll see you at the movies.”

Dutton has previously denied anyfeudwith Sheridan due to the actor's busy schedule. In an interview with Deadline, the actor said, ''I’m so thrilled to be going there. And listen, I don’t want to get down in the gutter with the Yellowstone thing but what I’m telling you is straight up. I have taken a beating from those f*cking guys and I know a lot of times where it’s coming from. I just elected not to get into that. But if you know me well enough, I made Yellowstone the first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong. I did not initiate any of those things. They did. They were doing a tap dance and this poor guy was also having to write so much. And I don’t know why they didn’t stick up for me.''
