The Academy announces the date and nomination timeline for Oscars 2025

Oscars 2025 has a date now. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Wednesday that the Oscar Awards will take place on March 2, 2025. The Academy took to its social media handles to announce the awards date and the nomination timeline.
Like previous years, the 97th Academy Awards will take place at the prestigious Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Announcing the timeline, the official Instagram page of The Academy wrote, "Mark your calendars! The 97th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Nominations will be announced on Friday, January 17, 2025. (sic)."
The award show usually takes place in mid-March every year. This year the awards took place on March 10 and The Academy has moved the Oscars a week ahead in 2025.
The nominations will be announced on January 17 after multiple rounds of selections.
Oscars 2025 will begin at 7 pm (EST) like this year's show. ABC will livestream the award show.

Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer swept most of the major awards at the Oscars 2024. The film won Best Picture, Nolan won Best Director and lead actor Cillian Murphy took home the Best Actor trophy for playing the role of American physicist J Oppenheimer in the biopic.
