Released in theatres on August 1, the story revolves around Neelesh, a young man, who has faced caste-based discrimination, and Vidhi, a sweet girl from a privileged background. How the two fight against challenges and societal boundaries forms the crux of the story. Written by Rahul Badwelkar, Shazia Iqbal, <i>Dhadak 2</i> brilliantly highlights the two different worlds that exist in the same class in law school. Vidhi is privileged, comes from a family of lawyers who flaunt their status in society, yet are the most insecure about family honour. Violence is an easy option to shut down those who rebel against them. Meanwhile, impoverished and marginalised, Neelesh’s family understands the power that education holds and when to fight back and when not to choose violence. They are oppressed, often misunderstood and harassed by the upper class and caste- yet they choose peace and education, partly because they know the law does not support them and partly because they follow Ambedkar’s ideology.'' <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/dhadak-2-review-siddhant-chaturvedi-triptii-dimri-s-film-jolts-you-from-all-kinds-of-delusion-1754017846574">Read the full review here.</a></p>

<h2>Son of Sardaar 2: Story, cast, review and more</h2><p>If you want to make your weekend hilarious and full of laughs, don’t miss Ajay Devgn’s sequel to his 2013 hit of the same name. With a quirky, silly and chaotic plot, the movie revolves around Devgn's character of Jassi Randhawa and the Sandhu family; however, these Sandhus are different. Like the first part, Jassi is an innocent Punjabi man who has been waiting for several years to visit his wife, Dimple (Neeru Bajwa), in Scotland. After a long wait, he finally visits his wife, only to find out that she wants to get a divorce. In the foreign lands, he meets a Pakistani girl, Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), who performs at weddings with her group, which includes Gul (Deepak Dobriyal), Saba (Roshni Walia), and Mehwish (Kubbra Sait). To set up Saba with his lover, who is an Indian, they end up with a chaotic plan.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/photos/inside-orry-s-unique-collection-lobster-bag-banana-phone-case-and-dragon-fly-suit-1758712693192">Orry's unique collection! As always, there are two types of moviegoers: those who watch these films by leaving their brains at home, fully aware of what they’re watching and just enjoying their time, and others who look for logic in every scene. If you belong to the first category, then you will enjoy this movie. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film entertains with senseless moments, but most humorously and playfully, without going overboard.'' <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/son-of-sardaar-2-review-ajay-devgn-s-film-is-silly-chaotic-and-surprisingly-funny-1754028486803">Read the full review here.&nbsp;</a></p>

Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 are two major releases this weekend. Moviegoers who missed both films in theaters can now watch them on streaming platforms. Check the details here:

All the fans who missed Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 in theatres can now watch both movies at their own comfort on OTT. This weekend, one is a love story and the other a comedy riot, so whichever film you missed and wanted to catch up on, you finally can. Both Dhadak 2 and Son of Sardaar 2 are set to release on Netflix from September 26, giving audiences an exciting option to choose this weekend. The streaming giant took to Instagram to announce the OTT releases of these two films. Dhadak 2: Story, cast, review and more Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, the film is a spiritual sequel to the 2018 movie of the same title. Released in theatres on August 1, the story revolves around Neelesh, a young man, who has faced caste-based discrimination, and Vidhi, a sweet girl from a privileged background. How the two fight against challenges and societal boundaries forms the crux of the story. The movie is directed by Shazia Iqbali. Also read: A mystery unfolds in China as unexplained changes in horror flick 'Together' spark confusion among viewers Shomini Sen wrote that Dhadak 2 paints a more realistic and relatable picture. ‘’The film, an official Hindi remake of the 2018 Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal, jolts you into understanding how deeply rooted and pervasive caste based discrimination is in society. Written by Rahul Badwelkar, Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 brilliantly highlights the two different worlds that exist in the same class in law school. They are oppressed, often misunderstood and harassed by the upper class and caste- yet they choose peace and education, partly because they know the law does not support them and partly because they follow Ambedkar’s ideology.'' Amitabh Bachchan’s father wanted to name him ‘Inquilab’ In a recent interview with RJ Sachin, Ajitabh spoke about his family’s iconic surname and its origin. He revealed that the late poet was almost named Amitabh, ‘Inquilab', as he was born when people were fighting for India's Independence. Also read: Sanjay Dutt offers prayers at Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple, attends Bhasm Aarti Recalling how “Bachchan” became their father’s pen name, Ajitabh shared that it was given by his mother, Teji Bachchan, who lovingly referred to her husband as Bachchanwa, which means childlike. ''She would call him, ‘Bachchanwa kidhar hai?’ (Where is Bachchan). He liked that and began using it as his writing name,” he shared. He further revealed that their father was always against the caste system. So, when it came time to enrol Amitabh in school, he officially registered Bachchan as the family surname, creating a new legacy. Also read: Sholay with its original ending to be screened at Indian Film Festival of Sydney Apart from the surname, he also wanted to name the Sholay actor, ''Inquilab.'' Ajitabh continued, “My brother was five years older, and my father wanted to name him Inquilab, because he was struggling for Independence. My name was to be Azad. I was born in Independent India.” Amitabh thus became the first in the family to officially use the surname Bachchan. When Amitabh Bachchan shared the story behind his surname In 2019, Amitabh, who often shares interesting anecdotes through his blog, wrote about the origin of his surname, which had been his father’s pen name as a poet. Revealing that the caste system was the main reason behind his father’s decision, he wrote: "Babuji was born in a Kayasth home and a Srivastav. But his temperament was always against the ailment of caste, his nome de plume, his 'takhallus' his pen name he designed as 'BACHCHAN'. Poets writers of great eminence often designed their names with a nom de plume. So 'Bachchan' became my Father's pen name, his poetic nom de plume but it lent credence of its concept later when I was born, on being admitted to my first School, and being asked by the teachers what surname of this boy was to be filled in the admission form my Mother and father had a quick discussion and it was decided that 'Bachchan' would be the family surname," he wrote. "And it has remained so and shall remain so... My Father... the Bachchan (and) I the proud bearer of this surname," he wrote.

<p>Amitabh Bachchan's younger brother, Ajitabh, revealed the name that their father and legendary poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan had wanted to give to the legendary actor. He also shared the origin story of their unique surname. &nbsp;</p>

<p>What happens when Bollywood decides to roast itself? Well, Aryan Khan’s debut series The Ba***ds of Bollywood just did exactly that. The seven-episode series is messy, loud, and entertaining. <h2>Karan Johar and the ‘Movie Mafia’ Tag</h2><p>Dharma Productions head and celebrated filmmaker Karan Johar presents the rawest version of himself in the show. He curses, mocks, and embraces the image people have of him, especially as the so-called Flag-bearer of Nepotism. Among many bold moments, one dialogue has gone viral as a dig at Kangana Ranaut, who famously branded him ''Movie Mafia.''</p>

<h2>The famous round-table roast</h2><p>One episode features a journalist hosting a round table with newcomers. Aasmaan ends up in a heated argument with star kid Karishma Talvar (Sahher Bambba) over nepotism privilege. Many viewers felt this scene directly referenced the 2021 viral round-table where Siddhant Chaturvedi called out Ananya Panday for her privilege.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/gauri-khan-s-special-surprise-as-shah-rukh-khan-wins-his-first-national-film-award-1758632753055"><strong>Gauri Khan’s special surprise as King Khan wins his first National Film Award</strong></a></p><h2>Say ‘No to Drugs’</h2><p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>After two years of silence, Aryan has finally addressed his infamous drug case, through satire. <p>A source close to the production revealed that her decision to walk out was triggered by pay negotiations. Reportedly, Deepika sought a fee hike of over 25%, confident that her character SUM-80- who received immense attention in the first instalment, made her role “irreplaceable.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/akshay-kumar-demands-this-after-katrina-kaif-vicky-kaushal-s-pregnancy-reveal-1758703241953"><strong>Akshay Kumar demands THIS after Katrina Kaif-Vicky Kaushal’s pregnancy reveal</strong></a></p><h2>Management dispute turned sour</h2><p>The controversy, however, was not just about the hike. Reports suggest that the turning point was how her management handled the negotiations. “Deepika was fully aware of the strong, performance-driven role planned for her. The claim of date clashes doesn’t hold ground, as schedules were already fixed keeping her availability in mind.”&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/what-a-fishy-bag-orry-flexes-lobster-bag-worth-rs-6-45-000-00-at-homebound-screening-1758700937845"><strong>What a fishy bag! The statement read: “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like <i>Kalki 2898 AD </i>deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future projects.”&nbsp;</p><h2>Back-to-back exits for Deepika</h2><p>Deepika’s exit from <i>Kalki 2 </i>comes right after she was also dropped from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, another big-ticket project starring Prabhas. Reports suggest her requests for shorter working hours and a hefty paycheck didn’t sit well with the director.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Adding fuel to the fire, Vanga himself took to social media earlier this year, accusing Deepika of indulging in “dirty PR games” and disrespecting his storytelling.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/rani-mukerji-pays-emotional-tribute-to-daughter-adira-at-the-71st-national-film-awards-know-how-1758699386457"><strong>Rani Mukerji's emotional tribute to daughter Adira at the National Film Awards</strong></a></p><h2>Deepika Reunites with Shah Rukh Khan</h2><p>Amid the controversies, Deepika Padukone has already shifted her focus to new ventures. The actress recently began shooting for <i>King</i>, her sixth collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. Sharing a photo on Instagram, she recalled the most important lesson SRK taught her during <i>Om Shanti Om</i>: “The people you make a movie with matter far more than its success.”&nbsp;</p><h2>What lies ahead</h2><p>With two major South Indian projects slipping away, fans are eager to see how Deepika reshapes her filmography. Apart from <i>King</i>, she is also expected to star in Atlee’s next alongside Allu Arjun.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Why did Deepika Padukone quit Kalki 2898 AD sequel after 20 days of shoot?

<p>The stage is set, the vibe is electric, and the premiere of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle will see the reunion Amar -Prem: Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. The two actors come together on one couch, decades later to spill some personal details to hosts Kajol and Twinkle Khanna. The promo of the first episode of the anticipated chat show is out and shows the four Bollywood stars share laughs which quickly spiral into heartfelt revelations.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Aamir admits he was judgmental towards Salman. Meanwhile, the Sultan actor reveals his wish to embrace fatherhood. Premiering on Thursday, September 25, the episode is packed with many such moments, which the audience can’t afford to miss.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>But the real question is, will Kajol and Twinkle roast the Khans, or will the Khans gang up against the sassiest hosts in town? Salman kicks things off with a throwback, joking about how he and Aamir apparently went to school together but barely remember it.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Further, Aamir reveals how he and Salman bonded when Salman first visited his place for dinner and said, “Actually, I think it happened when I went through my divorce with Reena. You remember? You had come over for dinner, and that’s when Salman and I first actually connected properly. Because before that I used to feel ki bhai time pe nahi aata, humko bohot problem hoti thi, Andaz Apna Apna mein (I used to feel he doesn’t come on time, we often faced problems during the shooting of Andaz Apna Apna).” Aamir further confesses to being judgmental, saying, “I want to say something. Salman mein bohot judgemental tha yaar, shuru shuru mein na. I was very hard as a person.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Amid all the nok-jhok and friendly fire between the two Khans, Salman slips in a candid peek into his past relationships. He says, “When a partner grows more than the other partner, that is when the differences start coming in; that’s when the insecurity starts setting in, so they both need to grow together. Both need to get off each other’s backs. I believe that.”&nbsp;</p>

If there is anyone to blame, I am the one to blame.” He even shares his wish of having a child someday: “Children, I will have, one day, soon.” He continued, “It’s just that eventually one will have kids, but let’s see.”</p><p> </p><p>All this, and so much more in store, awaits the crackling Khan-tastic episode. The first episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle premieres on September 25 on Prime Video.</p>

New chat show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle is set to premiere on September 25. The first episode will have Salman Khan and Aamir Khan sharing the couch as they spill personal details to hosts Kajol and Twinkle Khanna.

The stage is set, the vibe is electric, and the premiere of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle will see the reunion Amar -Prem: Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. The two actors come together on one couch, decades later to spill some personal details to hosts Kajol and Twinkle Khanna. The promo of the first episode of the anticipated chat show is out and shows the four Bollywood stars share laughs which quickly spiral into heartfelt revelations. Aamir admits he was judgmental towards Salman. Meanwhile, the Sultan actor reveals his wish to embrace fatherhood. Premiering on Thursday, September 25, the episode is packed with many such moments, which the audience can’t afford to miss. But the real question is, will Kajol and Twinkle roast the Khans, or will the Khans gang up against the sassiest hosts in town? Salman kicks things off with a throwback, joking about how he and Aamir apparently went to school together but barely remember it. Further, Aamir reveals how he and Salman bonded when Salman first visited his place for dinner and said, “Actually, I think it happened when I went through my divorce with Reena. I was very hard as a person.” Amid all the nok-jhok and friendly fire between the two Khans, Salman slips in a candid peek into his past relationships. He says, “When a partner grows more than the other partner, that is when the differences start coming in; that’s when the insecurity starts setting in, so they both need to grow together. Both need to get off each other’s backs. I believe that.”

<h2>A personal moment at the ceremony</h2><p>The emotional core of<i> Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway</i>- a film inspired by the real-life story of Sagarika Chakraborty, lies in a mother’s unyielding battle to reclaim her children from a foreign legal system. It’s a role that resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike, and perhaps no one more than Rani herself.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/alia-bhatt-slays-at-milan-fashion-week-shares-candid-pose-with-bts-jin-1758695553857"><strong>Alia Bhatt slays at Milan Fashion Week, shares candid pose with BTS' Jin</strong></a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“Adira is the centre of my world,” Rani has shared in past interviews. At the ceremony, she embodied that sentiment, choosing to keep her daughter’s presence close even as she stood solo on stage. While Adira did not accompany her mother, the gold necklace was a sweet reminder of the bond showed in the film.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/bollywood/has-aryan-khan-not-directed-the-ba-ds-of-bollywood-himself-this-actor-spills-the-truth-1758688222371"><strong>Has Aryan Khan not directed The Ba***ds of Bollywood? THIS actor tells the truth</strong></a></p><h2>Rani’s traditional elegance</h2><p>Rani’s appearance was as timeless as her performance. Styled in a brown Sabyasachi saree with an intricately designed gold border, she paired it with a minimalist blouse, a double-layered choker necklace, and elegant dangling earrings. Her hair, parted at the centre and left loose, and the bronzed, matte-finish makeup, perfectly complemented the ensemble’s understated opulence. Adding layers to her was a simple yet sentimental gold chain, bearing Adira’s initials.</p><h2>About the award ceremony</h2><p>Rani shared the spotlight with some of Indian cinema’s finest. She was seated between Shah Rukh Khan, who won Best Actor for <i>Jawan</i>, and Vikrant Massey, recognised for his performance in <i>12th Fail</i>. The event, presided over by President Droupadi Murmu, brought together an impressive lineup including Mohanlal, Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga, and Meghna Gulzar.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/how-rich-are-vicky-kaushal-and-katrina-kaif-net-worth-revealed-1758639275295"><strong>How rich are Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif? Net worth revealed</strong></a></p><h2>Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway</h2><p>Directed by Ashima Chibber, <i>Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway</i> is based on the harrowing true story of an Indian mother whose children were taken away by Norwegian child welfare services. Rani’s raw and heart-wrenching performance captured the despair, grit, and resilience of a woman fighting against an entire system for her family.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The film earned critical acclaim for its emotional depth and social relevance, and while it had a modest box office performance (₹38.3 crore globally), its real impact was felt on OTT platforms and through awards recognitions like this.&nbsp;</p><h2>What’s next for Rani Mukerji?</h2><p>Fresh off her National Award win, Rani Mukerji is gearing up for an intense return in <i>Mardaani 3</i>, where she reprises her role as the fierce cop Shivani Shivaji Roy. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the film is set to hit theatres on February 27, 2026, with the first poster already creating buzz online.&nbsp;</p>

Rani Mukerji received the Best Actress Award at the 71st National Film Awards. But besides the win, what grabbed the spotlight was her simple golden chain inscribed with her daughter Adira's initials, showcasing how the actress keeps her close to the heart.

Bollywood diva Rani Mukerji made a powerful statement at the 71st National Film Awards not just with her performance that earned her the Best Actress Award, but with a special gesture to her daughter, Adira. Draped in an elegant saree by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Rani turned heads at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi as she accepted the prestigious honour for her emotional portrayal in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway (2023). What truly stole the spotlight, however, was a subtle but touching detail; a gold chain delicately inscribed with Adira’s initials. Rani Mukerji pays emotional tribute to daughter Adira at the 71st National Film Awards; Know how

<p>All eyes were on Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony that took place in Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. The two Bollywood stars, along with fellow winner Vikrant Massey, were seated together. Cameras hovered around them throughout the ceremony, capturing moments of the trio chatting and watching other winners take home the coveted award. A moment of the three wearing their medals soon after receiving them has been doing the rounds on the internet. What caught everyone’s attention was how Rani helped SRK detangle his medal and wear it properly around his neck, and soon broke into a smile together.&nbsp;</p><h2>Rani Mukerji helps Shah Rukh Khan</h2><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The video, which is very school-children-coded, has Vikrant first handing over SRK his medal. As Vikrant and Rani wear their respective medals, SRK seem to be struggling to detangle his medal. Rani, being a good friend, helps him out and puts the medal around his neck. She then offers him her phone’s front camera to see if the medal is sitting well around his neck.&nbsp;</p>

Defending Aryan and his vision, Anya said that instead of having an option to make a team of perfectionist, he chose to work with young talents. "He is a young guy who stuck by his vision.
