Actor Anthony Guidera is no more. Made his debut with The Godfather Part III, the actor has worked in several projects such as Species, Undercover Heat, Species, The Rock, The Postman and Armageddon among others.
Anthony Guidera is no more. The actor, who will be forever remembered for his roles in films such as The Godfather Part III, Armageddon, and Species, passed away at the age of 65.
Guidera breathed his last at Los Angeles-area hospital. He was taken off life support after weeks of hopitalisation and was taken back to his home, where he breathed his last.
Guidera died on Saturday, June 6, after a weeks-long hospitalization, his wife, Valarie Anderson, confirmed to TMZ. She said that on May 11, the couple was in the living room of their Southern California home when Anthony collapsed and his heart stopped.
He was taken to the hospital and placed on life support for three weeks. After discussion, doctors removed life support so he could be brought home so that the actor die of natural death. However, at the moment, the exact cause of his death remains unknown.
In a Facebook post, Valerie announced Anthony's death.
She wrote: "It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Anthony. We are devastated and trying to breathe through the impossible, taking each moment as it comes.
“Please hold this eternal light in your hearts and our family in your prayers.”
Guidera is survived by his wife, Valarie, and their son, Nick.
In his career spanning decades, Guidera, is known over his work in over more than 30 movies and TV shows. Born in San Francisco in October 1960, he made his big screen debut with Francis Ford Coppola's 1990 film The Godfather Part III, in which, he played the role of a bodyguard also named Anthony.
Other credits include the role of Robbie in the 1995 film Species. His other projects are:
Undercover Heat, Species, The Rock, The Postman, Armageddon, and The Annihilation of Fish. In addition, he had made appearance in "Renegade," "Baywatch," and “Angel,” among others.
